Multiple ISCSI targets and connection failed

last week I was preparing my s/w iscsi initiator to connect to multiple iscsi targets.  I ended up not doing last week, and I thought that I removed the targets of the GUI.  looking now @ the GUI, I only show my main production target, but if I look in my Journal vmkernel, his constantly trying to connect to these targets, I had the plan on connecting the box to.  Anyone know of a way for me to look @ the console and see where they can still be defined, of cause, they are not displayed in the GUI.

Like I said before, vMotion can saturate an uplink, so you will need to keep an eye on it. If you want to perform vMotion on the same vSwitch anyway, I suggest you create a group of separate ports with private IP (e.g. 192.168.x.y) addresses for her and let the two active vmnic for this group of ports allow failover in the event of an uplink failure.

  • Best practices the iSCSI target LUN

I connect to my ESX laboratory to a QNAP iSCSI target and wonder what best practices to create LUNS on the target. I have two servers each connection to its own target. Do I create a LUN for each virtual machine, I intend to create in the laboratory, or is it better to create a LUN of the largest and have multiple VMs per LUN? Place several virtual machines on a LUN has concequenses HA or FA?

    Concerning

    It is always a compromise...

ISCSI reservations are per LUN.    If you get many guests on the same logical unit number, it becomes a problem and Yes we saw it.

Slim sure to layout.   This way you can make your smaller LUN and still get several s VM we each their.

  • Connection failed SQL State 08001 SQL Server Error 10061 SQL Native Client TCP provider no. could be made because the target machine actively refused it

Wandering SQL Native Client Datasource - apparently, it's a pretty common problem and I see several resolutions to it.  This problem started for our long company until I started working here.  We do not allow remote connections.  JDE Enterprise Server and SQL server are on the same subnet.  Users are on a different subnet.  SQL Server gets this message tries to connect to the Server Enterprise JDE:

Connection failed: State 08001 ' SQL': SQL Server Error 10061: Microsoft SQL Native Client TCP provider: no connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

I tried several suggested solutions and do not get the case. Any help is appreciated. Thank you, Sophie

Is "host1.exampl.com" the real hostname of your machine "host1"?  Or you made that blur in your ad - thing quite legitimate to do this for security reasons.

Whatever, this is not really a matter of tns, unless of course 'host1.example.com' is really what you put in the tnsnames file, but your server "host1" became really something else.

Assuming that 'host1.example.com' is the correct value, debugging starts with the following:

    [oracle@host2 admin] $ ping host1.example.com

    [oracle@host2 admin] $ tracerout host1.example.com

OK, so you have a software firewall (IPTables) running.  By default, it will not be configured to accept connections on port 1521.  You have two options...

    (1) disable the firewall completely.  Run these commands to do this...

    stop /etc/init.d/iptables

    chkconfig iptables off

The first command stops the service.  The second command prevents revived at every restart of the OS.

    (2) add an exception to the firewall for port 1521.  I'm not a Linux expert, but it should be something like this...

Change the configuration of IPTables with vi...

    VI/etc/sysconfig/iptables

Add a new rule as follows...

-A of ENTRY m state - state NEW-m tcp tcp - dport 1521-j ACCEPT Pei

Save and close, and then restart the IPTables service...

    /etc/init.d/iptables restart

NOTE: you must always change the name of this server to something other than "localhost".

From the beginning, our 2 original hosts had connection to 4 targets, using SRM.

With the third host it didn't connect to all 4 but only 2-3 boot at startup.

After the upgrade of all hosts to ESXi 5.0 U1 each host connects only to 2 targets.

Trying to ping from the hosts, only 2 targets are accessible, those he uses.

What seems to be is what port group is used, these targets are available and hosts use different paths, work if all the paths.

A port binding is 'Last active' and 'unused '.

Am I total evil that all hosts must have 4 connected, but passive targets 2, 2 active?

I'm afraid that the redundancy is compromised when having only 2 targets connected on 4.

    Setting the configuration-screenshots.

I already talked to the support of IBM who checked the configuration and log files from the SAN and saw no problem there.

I think that you shouldn't have two interfaces of vmk on the same subnet. Configure a different subnet for vmk1 and configure 2 of your 4 targets accordingly. This should solve the problem.

  • After that stright connected to iSCSI (initiator) Host cannot ping the server iSCSI (target), but the target can, why?

After that host on vSHere 4.0 strightly connected to iSCSI (initiator) host cannot ping the server iSCSI (target), but target can.  And iSCSI works well. I mean I can create and use the iSCSI disk, why? It makes me confused.

    Thank you!

    Geoarge,

iSCSI traffic uses a VMkernel port, instead of using the command 'ping', use 'vmkping '.

  • Connection failed on version 37.0.1 but that works in all other browsers and firefox 36

Question very similar to this, https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1056423. Am able to go to http://www.independentagent.com , then when you click on the link "sign" (which redirects to https://sso.iiaba.net/login.aspx?sid=xxx) this error indicates:

    The secure connection failed

The connection to the server was reset while the page is loading.

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

I went through the area of the sso.iiaba.net https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=sso.iiaba.net and it advises a few warnings, but gives the site an overall rating of B.

        • Fixed. As noted, we were supporting former ciphers. We dressed and had recourse to the list of encryption and now we get an A on the analysis of ssllabs.com . Firefox does now, no problem. I wish the original error message was more descriptive.

The site may attempt to return to TLS 1.0 in a way that is no longer allowed in current versions or maybe use a deprecated suite of encryption.

You can open the topic: config page through the address bar and use the search bar to locate this pref:

    • Security.TLS.insecure_fallback_hosts

You can double-click the line to edit the prefs and add the domain (sso.iiaba.net) to this preference.
If there are already websites (domains) in this list, then add a comma and the new domain (without space).
You should see fields separated by a comma in the value column.

This site uses the encryption algorithm RC4 for the encryption, which is obsolete and little course. Login.aspx

This site uses a SHA - 1 certificate; It is recommended to use the certificate with the signature algorithms that use stronger than SHA - 1 hash functions. [Learn more]

  • Just downloaded Firefox - and that's WOT WORK. He used still open up to it's own support pages, I just get msgs "secure Connection failed" page-you don't HAVE anything!

I just downloaded and istalled Firefox. IT WILL NOT WORK. No matter what site I try to open (included of Firefox support website) I get the following:

    The secure connection failed

An error occurred during a connection to support.mozilla.org. Cannot communicate securely with counterpart: no common encryption algorithm. (Error code: ssl_error_no_cypher_overlap)

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem. Alternatively, use the command found in the help menu to report this broken site.

The only reason I installed it is because a University site, I need to use requires Firefox (my IE 10 is not compatible apparently). This is the MOST useless browser I've ever tried! I mean common SERIOUSLY? I do not have the settings even modified, installed add ons, or anything like that! So what is the point of this browser, if you need to be a computer WHIZZ to make repairs before you can use? OMW!

I already reinstalled the damn thing but still useless...

in the case where you wish to continue using firefox try eset as described in http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content & id = SOLN3126 & viewlocale = en_US

  • Drive not work in IE and saying failed to connect with fingerprint sensor

    Hi all

I purchased a Qosmio x 500 10 t a couple of months back. For the first two weeks, I had no probs using the fingerprint reader to log on windows and connect to Web sites in Internet exploer.

All of a sudden it would not work on any website that is stored. The Green banner was shown in the upper part of the site and asked finger drag, but nothing happened when I slipped. I rebooted and it worked again but not for long before failing. This time a restart didn't work so I deleted my fingerprints and Web sites and started from scratch. It worked for a few attempts before probs started. And to try to enter the utility of fingerprint it says the connection of sensor failure. So, I did a system restore. He worked for some time yet and then same probs. So I found the update utility software, uninstalled the old and put on the new. Even once worked for a couple of times then failed.

I couldn't find anything about it is stuck in the registry but to be on the safe side I did a full system own return to the original using disks of backup configuration. Hey presto, I thought that he had worked. Everything goes ok for the first 24 hours and then same problems start to occur. Only this time it's also prompting me to register fingerprints even if I already have. And when I try to enter the utilioty it says cannot read the sensor again.

The fingerprints for windows log still works as long as I do not close the utility of fingerprinting before stopping. If I quit the utility I can't reopen it as it says failed to connect to the sensor only. And then I have to uninstall and reinstall the utility software. Aty at the time where he occasionally works on sites stored Web, but most of the time it does nothing.

  • Between R2 2012 Windows and IBM Http Server SSL connection failed periodically.

Hi, I have a problem recently. I found that my windows server 2012 R2 has sometimes failed to connect with IBM Http Server ssl. Here it is the information of the two servers:

    1 windows 2012 R2

-Already activate TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.0

-Already the latest version of windows update and restart

    IIS - 8.5

    2 IBM Http Server

    -Apache 2.2.31

    -using OpenSSL 1.0.2f

    -Allow TLS1.2 and TLS 1.0

I also captured network traffic when the two server. If the ssl connection has managed to create. Traffic will be like the following screen:

If the ssl connection was impossible to create, network traffic was like the below:

You will see that the ssl connection failed when the version of the TLS protocol was passed to TLSv1. And returned access denied.  The details of the access denied was like the below:

As the captured screen reproduced above, you will see that the SSL for Client Hello was TLSv1.2 but running on the recording layer TLSv1. this Hello customer was sent by the server r2 windows 2012. I don't know why the ssl connection has been passed to TLSv1 suddenly.

I found that Microsoft has released an update on January 12, 2016. This fix is the resumption of SSL. Update ID was 3109853 , but I have already applied this update on my server. I tried to do the with the other type of server ssl connection, the ssl connection is possible in a stable condition and has happened the problem I mentioned. Is there someone met this case and resolve it finally?
