Multitasking is not multi tasking

I often find that I would like to talk to someone on the speaker while browsing the web. I can browse the Web, but as soon as I place or receive a call, the web browsing seems to grind to a halt. When I'm on a call, I can always choose the browser window, but it will not go to all the links, while the call is active. Once I have killed the phone call, I'm back in the business and can browse the web. It seems that multitasking isn't really "multi" after all, at least for the web and phone concurrency.

Teledon

The voice and data at the same time is the result of a carrier of CDMA of Sprint.  If you select a Wi - Fi connection, you'll be able to talk and surf/etc. at the same time.  Without it, however, voice will block some features.  This part has nothing to do with the Unit well.

  • Multi-task on Palm Pre does not work

    Hi all

I was under the impression that it was possible on the Palm Pre multitasking.

When I start a spring Radio channel and launch a different application of the radio channel stops - unfortunately.

No idea what's wrong here? Of course, a radio app should be able to run in the background.

    Thank you!

Hello Sapag and thanks for posting...

When Sprint TV's request was written, the multi tasking was not enabled on the application itself.  This is partly by design.  Radio and video streaming strongly uses the battery.  In addition, the deployment of the device limited the amount of time developers had to tweek the current application for the Pre.  Remember, this is the first true multi-tasking OS for a mobile device.  As time passes, additional patches will be correct and/or add functionality to the device and apps built into the ROM.

I get the message that Scheduler tasks not preformed tasks does not

You have can not be programmed tasks, but one or several applications that you have installed probably made (without bothering to tell you).  Google is a likely culprit, but certainly not the only one.

Most of these tasks are "phone home" search for updates of applications.  If you ask me, you're better off with tasks not running - but I'm sure that you don't like the error message at every startup.

Rather than starting at the end with the section of the "Troubleshooting" section, begins to run and find out what's on demand - so you can decide whether you care or not that it is not performed.

Click Start > Accessories > system tools > scheduled tasks

The window tasks planned opens and you can see the list of tasks.  If you want the tasks to be performed, but they are not, then follow «troubleshooting» article  If you don't want the task to run, do a right click and 'delete '.

Or, if you do not want to risk to delete something you don't know, but don't want the error of "missed tasks", right-click on a task, select properties and then uncheck the box in the tab 'Task' that says 'Enabled '.  This will give time to what the job is all about and why he could not be executed but will prevent the message "some tasks have been missed" to come whenever you start the search.

  • Now not DAQmx task correctly

    Hello

I created a state machine structure that is designed to set up a number of different channels DAQmx data acquisition (the code with indication of analysis section is attached).

The first time I run this vi, I get a table containing the names of specified job in (with a first line empty), but subsequent executions raise an error that the name of the task is already specified, leading me to believe that the tasks are not properly shut down, but I don't know how to set up the fence vi the task in this case.

Also, in the State of the initialization, I placed an empty array that obviously gives me my first empty line, but if I withdraw this, he breaks the vi as one of the terminals of the enclosure is then unwired.

Anyone would be able to guide me to a more correct solution, please?

    -dave

Purely given this example, here are a few things I would change:

Use a loop FOR instead of a while loop.  No point in the case of Initialize.  You want to use a shift register to add channels to your task.  It takes only a single task for thermocouples, a task for lubricating oil, etc.  See attachment for a quick example.

In this example, I think that your error comes from the fact that you create a 2D tasks table.  Each line must have the same number of items, and you get a bunch of NULL tasks.

  • Height of the monitor does not bar tasks

I am currently implementing a window full screen (such as viewing a PowerPoint slideshow).  I need the actual height of the resolution of the screen that the taskbar is present, visible, shown on the right edge up/down/left, etc.  My program allows the user to drag the window to any monitor before calling mode full screen, so I need the screen resolution that my main table sits on.  I can get the ID of the main panel monitor and use GetMonitorAttribute to return the height and width, but this function will return the 'doable' screen size that does not include the taskbar.

Is there a way to get the actual resolution of a particular monitor?  If not, is there a way to determine if the task bar is visible, which monitors them it is, and how big it is?

Aewsome!  It should work perfectly, thanks!

  • Windows XP, the "Windows Search" application does not work, Task Manager shows "not responding", how to solve the problem?

Windows Search does not respond when you try to find a file or folder. The Task Manager displays the message "not responding". Is it possible to download a patch for this problem by running Windows XP SP 3?

    Hi Carl Kochman,.

    1. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?
    2. What is the exact error message or error code?

Try the following and see if it helps.

    Method 1:

Check if the search Windows service is turned on.
To do this, follow these steps.

    a. Click Start and then click on run
    (b) in the Open box, type services.msc and press ENTER.
    c. double-click Windows Search.
    d. set its startup type to automatic.
    e. set the service state to started.
    f. click OK. Check if it helps.

    Method 2:

Run the System File Checker and check if it helps.
Description of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 System File Checker (Sfc.exe): http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310747

    Method 3:

Run the Microsoft Safety Scanner and check if that helps resolve the issue.

    Microsoft Safety Scanner: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

    Note
: the Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.
Note : the data files that are infected can be cleaned by removing the file completely, which means there is a risk of data loss.

  • Computer does not work - task scheduler, free 32 bit problems Analyzer engine

    Hi guys,.

I've seen this problem in several forums, but I think that my problem is slightly different. I turn on my computer, after which I get loads of different signs in this order:

Task Scheduler engine has stopped working

debugger analysis free 32 bit has stopped working

Control Center Catalyst host has stopped working

AND then a list of messages saying all my programs are shut down. I can't use any program and my computer then hangs.

There was no harm to my computer until today. (I entered another of course), and it is only a year old, so I don't understand what goes wrong.

I initially buy this Vista computer with a CD to upgrade to windows 7 and therefore no cd of windows vista. I tried the upgrade to windows 7 by doing a clean to get rid of this, install but it says that I don't have enough memory to do this (although the RAM in my computer is not overloaded and that my hard drive is empty)

I'm a computer user quite amateur, so everything that concerns me - please could someone help me by giving me some simple instructions please?

Turn off the DEP is not set in stone and can be reversed, you could try and see if it solves the problem, if he succeeds then at least you'll have a workaround solution to fall back on in case of emergency.

As with any new installation of Windows 7, if drivers are available, you should be able to locate at HP by following the links on this page at HP driver.

HP Pavilion dv6-1131ea Entertainment Notebook PC
    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/product?cc=us&DLC=en&product=3947230&LC=en&JumpID=reg_R1002_USEN

They also have a link to troubleshooting.

A pilot and a CD Application cannot start, but may be called for (time) if any other provided or created Recovery CD is bootable and used first?  In other words, the first two-CD box set CD is bootable, and the second of such a set is not.

If it was my decision I dump Vista and install Windows 7.  First of all, I would like to do as there are Windows 7 drivers available on the HP site.  Other equipment manufacturers that you attach also require Windows 7 drivers, for example, you could connect a printer of Canon or Epsom etc.

  • [BSOD] My PC crashed while multi-tasking DMP file Dump analysis required

    ITZ

This DMP has been altered and of little use.  It does not specify what related material but not that little material.  If you have other DMP files download them.  Meanwhile, I'd start by running a CPU stress test.

Try this free stress test: http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft/

    Prime95 Setup program;
-Extract the contents of the zip file into a directory of your choice
    -Double-click on the executable file
    -Select "all stress testing.
-Select the test of 'Blend '.  If you have already run MemTest overnight, you can run the test of "Small FFFS" instead.
"Number of threads of torture test run" must equal the number of processors multiplied by 2 (if you use hyperthreading).
The best way to do this is to go to the Manager of the tasks of the figure... The performance tab - and see the number of boxes that appear under the CPU usage history
Then run the test of 6 to 24 hours - or until you get errors [b](whichever comes first)
The selection of Test and the file stress.txt box describes the components that insists on the program.

This is called a BCC124 and is linked to the material

    Stop 0 x 124 is a hardware error

If you are overclocking try to reset your settings to standard processor and see if that helps.

If you keep getting the BSOD here are things more than you may want.
This is usually hardware related, defective heat, memory or processor even if it is "possible" he is associated (rare) driver.

Stop 0 x 124 - what it means and what to try

    Synopsis:
A "stop 0 x 124" is fundamentally different from many other types of bluescreens because it arises from a complaint of material.
Stop 0 x 124 minidumps contain very little concrete information, and it is therefore necessary to address the problem as a case of material in an unknown state of distress.

    Generic troubleshooting ' Stop 0 x 124 ":

    1) to ensure that none of the hardware components are overclocked. Material which is pushed beyond its design specifications - by overclocking - may malfunction in unpredictable ways.
    (2) ensure that the machine is sufficiently cooled.
If there is doubt, open the side of the case (be aware of all the relevant conditions guaranteed!) PC and direct an electric fan squarely to the motherboard. Who will rule on most cooling problems (lack of).
    3) update all drivers related to materials: video, sound, RAID (if applicable), NIC... anything that interacts with a piece of hardware.
It is best to run the latest drivers anyway.
    (4) update the BIOS of your motherboard according to the manufacturer's instructions and clear CMOS.
Their website should provide detailed instructions on the brand and model-specific procedure.
    (5) rarely, bugs in the operating system may cause "false positives" 0 x 124 events where the hardware wasn't complaining, but Windows thought otherwise (because of the bug).
At the time of writing, Windows 7 does not have to suffer from a defect, but it is nevertheless important to keep Windows up-to-date.
    6) trying (stress) test these hardware components that can be put to the test artificially.
The most obvious examples are the RAM and HDD (s).
For the RAM, use the 3 rd-party memtest86 utility to run several hours a test value. (6-8 passes to stress the ram)
For hard drives, verify if CHKDSK /R finds any problems on (s), including "bad sectors".

Unreliable RAM, in particular, is mortal, as well as software, and anything other than a 100% clear memory test result is cause for concern. Unfortunately, even a 100% clear result the diagnostic utilities does not guarantee that the RAM is free of any defect - only that none have been encountered during the test passes.
    7) as the last of the non-invasive troubleshooting steps, perform a "Vanilla" install Windows re: just the OS itself without additional applications, games, utilities, updates, new drivers - or ANYTHING that does not come from the Windows 7 disc.
Who stops working mitigate the problem of the 0 x 124, jump to the next step.
If you run the "Vanilla" installation long enough to convince yourself that not a single 0 x 124 accident occurred, start installing applications and updates slowly, always stopping between successive additions long enough to get an idea of the question if the machine is still free of 0 x 124 breaks down.
Smash back, obviously the latest addition of software may be somehow connected to the root cause.
If the stop error 0 x 124 persist despite the above steps, and the equipment is under warranty, consider to go back and ask for a replacement that does not suffer periodic MCE events.
Be aware that want to perform the subsequent hardware troubleshooting steps can, in some cases, void your warranty:
    (8) clean and carefully remove the dust inside the machine.
Reinstall all memory modules and connectors.
Use a can of compressed air to clean the RAM DIMM supports as much as possible.
    (9) If all else fails, start removing items of hardware one by one in the hope that the culprit is something non-essential that can be eliminated.
Obviously, this type of testing is much easier if you have access to equivalent components in order to perform swaps.

If you are in the situation to have completed all the steps above without a resolution of the symptom, unfortunately the most likely reason is that the error message is literally correct - something is fundamentally wrong with the hardware of the machine.
