  Hi all

  I just bought my first Blackberry (curve) for personal use.  My provider is ROGERS - also set up everything I would need for Internet, email etc...

  I have set up the CD and put sinc all contacts, calendar etc... SO FAR, LOVE IT!

  I have a few questions?

  1. I can't open the internet browser - "no longer" on my phone.  I get a message that I am unable to connect to the internet and contact my ISP.  (Yes, guys... I have checked the forum and have tried the 'register', but am still unable to open the browser.  Any suggestions before I have to call and wait hold forever? The most confusing thing, it is that I receive all my emails and can text but can not go online?

  2 - I got a HTC Touch phone before my BB8310 and much of the Rogers music store downloaded music on my computer.  My question is: How can I transfer these to the BB?

  3 - my BB has GPS.  No maps so?  Is it because of the problem of the internet that I question or do I have to download these maps?  The cards can be downloaded on my pc and then transferred to the BB?

  It will go through WiFi, except if there is a problem with the WiFi connection.

  Your phone will always prefer Wi-Fi over a network connection.  You can always see the arrows of data in the upper right of your phone when connected to WiFi, but too long your WiFi connection is strong enough, your phone will default to it.

I read on the differences of software between BIS and BES and would go for a set - up BIS. My dumb newbie question is equipment arrives in version BES or BIS or not?

  There was a little insinuation in my answer: basically, you buy a mobile phone, so you get a BIS/BES contract with a carrier who takes in charge that the mobile phone. A "BOLD" can be used like BIS or BES, it depends on the company.

  On the price, I'm sure the phone deal + contract is always cheaper than a "BOLD" (retail and not eBay from some guys) then a contract which is usable (that is, no GoDaddy or 0.01GBP / KB).

  for the speed, you are the one who knows.

  The thing of the cripping: the thing is, the updates are provided only by the suppliers (they get a barebone RIM OS, then add their stuff like facebook or AOL). Even if you buy a single "BOLD" without a contract, if you want to upgrade the regular way, you wait fot your carrier to publish the upgrade. Or you can do the regularly (which can be made with or without the purchase contract at the same time).

  Thought I'd take the opportunity to view and asking some fundamental questions about the Apps and BB.

  Apps, I would like to ask you a few tips from the community.  Just try to save time by trying different applications by asking.  I'm looking for advice for the following applications.

  -GPS?  Heard of Google Navigation but it doesn't seem to work with BB.

  -Calendar?  I use my BB for professional and personal

  -PTF App?  Is it possible using the BB to open, edit, save files on the BB?

  -BlackBerry Protect?  I've heard of her.  Thoughts?

  Any other Apps that someone would suggest?

  BB issues,

  -Whence an app go once removed?  Stored on my device somewhere taking up room?

  -With regard to the preloaded applications (Verizon) on my BB?  Can they be deleted and if so it will cause issues on the road?

  -All the Apps I should stay away from?

  If removed from the device, it went. Your download and your purchase is always archived in AppWorld, so you can install it again.

  -With regard to the preloaded applications (Verizon) on my BB?  Can they be deleted and if so it will cause issues on the road?  Really, you can't remove these shortcuts to application "pushed," not very easy installation. It is simpler:

  To do this: create a folder on your home screen and name it "Junk" (you can choose to be more creative the folder name ). Now, highlight each unwanted icon and press the Menu key > go to folder and move it to the folder "spam". That, for each, you don't want to do.

  Now, highlight this "Junk" folder, and select Menu > hide.

  Out of site, out of mind. Meanwhile, feel free to complain to Verizon or their own user forums.

  Well, until this morning, 08:32 my device connected to the internet totally don't fine - no problems.

  Now, I can not connect at all! I tried a BBM ping and test the message to a friend, I sent my service books, made 6 or 7 battery pulls and uninstalled apps that I installed last night. Despite all this my phone doesn't let me connect to the internet.

  Twitter says "loading...". "because I have messages from refereshed, Opera Mini is not connect and my native browser is not connect either! The service books that I resent have not come back to me again?

  I got a free internet for totally centuries now, this could be the problem? . Would Tmobile took my free internet? It was working fine this morning, but . Voice calls seem to work fine (although I have no credit to make calls, the Lady at tmobile voice connects and sounds good).

  Also I dropped my phone too, but only from the bed to the floor (and not a high level on the floor).

  Any advice? I feel lost without my BB operating . It's a part of me why are not the service books

  HIE Ozzy, it comes to your first post in fact unless you have a different user profile. About your problem, a thing of interest that I see if the fact that you were able to surf the internet for free for ages. BlackBerry services are paid for about US$ 10 per month. Maybe you were lucky and now the deficit has been filled. Then, contact your service provider and ask your BIS account status, maybe they will give you an answer, or else you can start paying for the data service on a monthly basis to the access service.

  In the message list, place you on the first of many messages you want to delete, press on and hold the SHIFT key while scrolling upwards or downwards to highlight more adjacent messages. Press the DELETE key (or Menu > delete).

  You can also scroll over any separator date header bar and press Menu > delete prior and all messages before this date will be deleted.

  In the hub of BlackBerry, do one of the following:

  • To delete a single message, suddenly left the message.
  • To delete multiple messages, tap and hold a message. Press the other messages that you want to remove. Press on .
  • To delete all messages prior to a specific date, tap and hold a date bar. Messages that have been sent or received before that date are highlighted. Type > before you delete it.

  I just got a new Blackberry Curve 8330 and think that I'm starting to get the hang of it... how nice a tool!

  One thing I just can't understand, is however how get all my e-mail folders appears.  All I see is the mail that comes to my Inbox...

  I have an MSN e-mail account, and since I had a VISTA computer () in August, I had to use Hotmail to access, but that's another story!

  How can I get ALL my folders (sent, Junk, so my folders mail filtered) will be displayed on the Blackberry?

  Ok! I don't understand, because the messages are filtered out BEFORE they reach the BB, they are not displayed. They reside on the mail server in these places filtered. I want to say is there is no way to copy these files filtered in

  the Blackberry.

  for example. Although I understand that you want to filter, if you were to remove the filters on the e-mail server, then you would see all the messages in all groups forming on your BB. Once again, you will need to access these files filtered through the msn mail browser to manage and separate them.

  Hi all. I'm new to the BlackBerry way of life. I love my new Curve 9300. I recently installed BlackBerry Protect and a few days later, I noticed that it is invalid.   Hi, I picked up a BB Bold 9900 after having a nightmare of a week with my BB Torch that I had been used for more than a year.  I have the following problems with my two phones:

  Phone NEW-BB Bold 9900:

  Despite transfer all my contacts from the torch to the "BOLD", many contacts are missing from my contacts list in the "BOLD".  Why is this?  These are still visible in my flashlight.  Therefore, it is absolutely useless for me to buy a BB if it is even impossible to recover my entire contact list.  Quite frustrating!

  FORMER telephone - BB Torch 9800:

  (1) touch screen, red touchbutton and keyboard are dysfunctional.

  (2) in spite of the withdrawal of the SIM card, the 'search box' on the home page seems to be hitting hlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhl... automatically WITHOUT ANY CONTRIBUTION whatsoever! (goose bumps!)

  (3) BB Desktop Software version is updated according to the update link.  Says the ad Office device using the latest version.  So not the possibility of an upgrade.

  How can I solve the problems with the two above devices? Help, please!

  With you your old phone, connection to BlackBerry Protect with your BlackBerry ID and do a data backup.  If you do not have BlackBerry Protect installed on your old phone, take the time now to do.  You can find Protect www.blackberry.com/protect from the browser of your phone visit BlackBerry App World.

  Then, once your backup is complete, remove the battery from your old phone while it is turned on and with the SIM card still in it.  Replace the battery a few seconds later.

  Now, remove your SIM card from your old phone and put in to the new.  Turn on your new phone and the connection once more to protect (the connection can be found using the link above).  He will see that you have changed phones and will ask you if you want to associate your new phone with Protect.  The answer is Yes.  When it is connected to the Protect, look for the icon Restore From A Backup File and select the backup file that you just created.  Load on your new phone, make sure he restored correctly, then you can remove your old phone of protection if you want.

  It's the best way I know to deal with the situation.  Give it a try and post back with your results.

  I grew up on BES and seeks to upgrade the phone to my wife (a moto Q w/verizon using wirelesssync which provides the full synchronization of OTA - email, calendar, contacts, etc. - w/outlook). I understand that without a BES, BIS only synchronizes e-mail (calendar, contacts, etc. should be done via USB?). Here is the rookie question: does BIS for synchronization of full e-mail with outlook (readings, deletions, etc. on the PC or the BB) - or are there other limitations?

  I don't like to lose the full OTA sync, but would be ready to give that up if the synchronization of outlook e-mail via BIS works exactly like the BES. e-mail is an address of @ameritech.net (yahoo). phone would an 8330. Thanks much for the ideas that you can share.

  Not quite acutally.

  BIS does not synchronize or reconcile email 'most'. He left with Gmail, Yahoo and IMAP mail servers. It does not reconcile all mail on the pop server And none of this with Outlook (i, e., if you delete an email in Outlook, it will not be deleted on your BB, except in some configurations of IMAP where Outlook also deletes the message on the mail server, it then reconciles this deletion on the BB.)

  Honestly, if you want full mail reconcile, you should look into an exchange server hosted for her, such as

  So I just got my first blackberry (bought one that has been used on eBay) and he seemed completely new except for a tiny nick on the back cover, but the screen has been impeccable. However, I noticed that for selecting things (alias ' click on ' the trackball), he did not have a click or pushing the feeling at all, it was as if I was contacting the trackball that does not move or make any sign to be pushed. Is it supposed to do this or do normally a clicking or by pushing the feeling? Also, it's some sort of weird scraping noise when I scroll and things, but it didn't matter. Any help?
