  • Flash Canon 600 EX - Speedite RT - flash using testfire erratic power

    Hello

For a photography assignment, I had to use an off-camera flash (using the testfire) to capture the different poses of a subject during a long exposure.

However, by pressing the button testfire produced variable results:

    1. the subject was reasonably informed.

    2. the power of the Flash was weak, leading to a very underexposed subject

    3. the test button would not fire at all.

Now, the obvious cause of this erratic behavior would be batteries to be replaced. However battery replacement (using brand batteries good long life) does not solve the problem.

If someone else has countered this problem and if so, is there a solution?

    Kind regards

W, which has no such assignment

When you trigger the test button, the amount of energy it will draw depend on the mode and the settings of the flash.

Mode you are using (manual or E - TTL) and if manual, what power level you have set (for example 1/1 = full, but there is also a 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, etc.)

If give you him a burst of full power in manual mode, you have to wait for the flash to recycle the capacitors before it is ready to fire again.  The capacitors are a bit like rechargeable batteries except for the rate at which you can drain a battery is somewhat limited and a capacitor can pour out his incredibly fast energy.  How flash actually works is to have the batteries to recharge the capacitors until it has enough fire power, and then the power of the flash capacitors (because they can send a power tip to the strobe light).

Most people tend to use E-TTL/E-TTL II mode - or - they use it in manual mode (M).  But there are other modes.

If you want to manually control the flash for your situation, then press the "Mode" button repeatedly until you see the "M", displayed in the upper left corner of the LCD screen (now you are in "Manual" mode and the flash will always fire at the same power level in E - TTL mode, it will try to automatically detect the amount of energy uses and many things can give you varying results because frankly) You asked the flash to automatically detect and vary the power level).

Manual mode is only half the fun... now press the soft key under the LCD panel around the "+/-" and allows you to control the power level.  By default it will pull at full power (1/1).  But you can now turn the wheel to reduce the power level (and you probably want to reduce the power level because 1/1 is a lot of power.)   For example... maybe 1/8 power would be more reasonable... or maybe 1/4 power.

But the other reason to use the manual mode is once you set the power level, it will ALWAYS trigger with the same amount of power (until you change.)

Remember that when you use the manual flash, flash has a 'falling' effect that causes the light seems less intense if the flash is farther or closer to the object.  This is what we call the 'inverse rule of the square law' and it's a law of Physics (not do around him - sorry.)  This means that if you want your subject to get uniform illumination so not only you must use the "manual" mode and set it to a specific for every time... power level but the flash itself must be at the same distance from the subject (if the subject moves... then you need to Flash for the maintenance of this uniform for each shot distance.)

  • RAID offers the best burst rate?

I recently install a new SATA III HARD disk, it is measured around 110 MB/s for the speed of the gusts, which is the highest speed (in megabytes per second) at which data can be transferred from disk interface (IDE or SCSI, for example) for the operating system.  I would like to improve the burst rate, someone has suggestions if RAID will be a good approach or not?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions

    Hello

RAID0, RAID0 + 1 and RAID1 + 0 all can provide some increase in performance, however the level
is based on the discs and the methods used. Hardware RAID is likely to be the only one
really useful. Check with the manufacturer of readers and the supplier of the device RAID/methods you
you want to use as those are the only ones who will be able to provide the specifications of the real world.

Have you considered a SSD? Check with the leading manufacturers of SSD (use BING and Google).

Personally, I think that the software and the hybrids are a waste of time and misleading when claims of
reliability are usually made. In most cases, an effective backup plan is better than these. All the
too often, software RAID or the hybrid model in fact causes a failure. Or is it supposed to

RAID is by far the best.

  • [Power Mac G5] Type of liquid cooling system?

Y at - it anyway how to determine type of LCS just by looking at the case?

We have old school Power Mac G5 DP 2, 7GHz (early 2005) we use for editing (well, for the last two years, he's right there and no one wants to touch this old piece of...). They will throw him in the year, and since I was take care of him for a while, I thought I'd take home when they do and use it as a backup machine for the data of my and my wife. I would like the max memory, put a few large hard drives (and small SSD, but there seems to be a lot of problems with this) and run the Linux command (more problems).

But first, I have to clean the machine and look at the State of it. What particularly concerns me is the LCS (DP 2, 7GHz I) - these things have been prone to leaks and what I found there are at least three revisions of the LCS - second of them made by Panasonic seems to be the most reliable. I can't look inside, deeply, because it must be ready to use at least for another 3-4 months, I can do is to open the case and remove the front fan and look outside the heater.

So this brings me to my question: Y at - it anyway to determine the type of LCS just by looking at the case?

    Thank you...

Apparently, there were two models more prone to leaks than others, although still very rare. See this http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/powermac_g5/faq/powermac-g5-liquid-cooling-infos-fuites-issues.html

The damage inflicted by a system of flight are very serious, and it is almost impossible to hide or completely clean. As soon as you open the side panel on the Power Mac, you will easily be able to tell if this unit experianced a problem.

  • Activate App stuck on waiting and power Mode low does ' t

    Hi all

I have at least two concurrent problems with my iPhone 6 + iOS 10.0.2 (but started with iOS 9).

I can't install new application directly from the App Store on the phone because they were stuck in the phase of "pending". Same behavior of update of the applications that are already installed.

The only way to update/install the app's iTunes download and synchronize.

The other simultaneous problem is in what regards the activation of "low power mode" with the rocker switch (settings > farm > Low Power). Whenever I try to activate (manual or automatic 20% of battery) function, the gray toggle becoming in the Middle, then return to the OFF position.

I already have backupped & restored several times, but nothing has changed.

    How can I solve this?

    Thank your

    Best regards

    Hello Axoduss,

Thanks for posting in the communities of Support from Apple. I see that you have two problems. One is that the low power Mode is not activated, and the other is that updates and new applications are blocked pending. I know that I rely on my iPhone for everything. It is important to ensure that it works as expected. I'll be more than happy to help.

Great job to the backup of your phone and restore. It's a great way to help solve these issues.

If you are restoring from a backup, the problem may be in the back upward. I recommend to reset the phone to factory settings and set up like new to see if the Mode low power and installing apps works. If this does not work after the installation in the new and not after the restoration then you want to restore your data manually and not market back. Here is an article on setting up the phone as new:

  • Watch OS shows 3 past mode of power with almost total of battery reserve

    Hello world

I have a problem since I updated my watch to watch OS 3. Watch (series 1) goes into unexpected battery power with an almost total reserve mode. It produces one or two times a day and the only thing that I recognize that the watch remains black when I look at my wrist. It shows only the time in green numbers when I press a button and I need to reboot by pressing the two buttons. After the reboot, the watch displays + 80 or even 90 + % battery life and it works as expected for the rest of the day (if is not the same problem from happening again). Especially my battery is 50 + % at the end of the day.

Today I reset the watch and recovered from backup, but that changed nothing. The watch went to the mode of power with a range of 78% a few minutes ago

I am really frustrated because it happens very often and I could not find a solution to this problem. Decommissioning watch OS 2 is not an option...

Thanks in advance for your help, I am really stuck on this issue.

    Best regards from Germany,

    Hi, Matthias

If your dial of the Watch includes the complication of the battery, it is possible that accidental screen interactions are causing your issue.

Tapping on the complication battery indicates the level of battery with a large button to put the watch mode of power reserve.

You can consider using your watch for a while without this complication on the face of the watch to see if the issue is recurring:

On my iPad, the power as well as the blow of unlocking button do not work. How can I solve this problem?

Take it to Apple for a free estimate, or call them and arrange for express service. It cannot resolve hardware problems yourself. You will need to get a replacement from Apple. Apple does not repair the individual components like that, they replace the whole device with a service unit. If you are in warranty and parts failures were due to a manufacturing defect, it would be free. If out of warranty or if the failures were due to accidental damage or misuse, the elimination of guarantee fees apply.

You can choose to wait until your computer is open to the public
