My 4th Gen ATV is very slow

My 4th Gen ATV is very slow to download a rental of the film (in hours). When I connect my ATV 3rd Gen and it plays the same video rental immediately. This isn't a unique event... (Same network, same account) Can you explain why? How should I do?

Some copyright holders (movie studios) won't allow their films/content of listened when 'rented '.   So it must download the entire movie before watching it.   Yes, that's stupid.   Apple can not do that.

  • List of apps for 4th gen ATV?

I'm in the market for a new Apple TV and I am trying to decide if I want to spend extra money for the 4th Gen find out what applications there are in addition to what is on the 3rd gen (with which I am very familiar) could help me make the decision, but after some effort in research I can't find a list of what's there.

Anyone know if Apple provided such a list?

Any other opinions on this? I tend to go with latest / greatest extend the life of the usefulness of the device.

As far as I know, there is no comprehensive list available outside of the interface of the ATC, but it is in hundreds of applications. Everything that is built into ATV (those are not separate applications) is already available for the quads and the list will only grow.

Personally, I never invest in a technology that has already been abandoned by Apple.

This site gives a good overview of ATV 4.

  • How can I connect several Bluetooth headsets to my 4th gen ATV?

We want to watch a film woth our helmets of bluetooth audio surround, but she will only so that we can be connected simultaneously rather than two.  is there a way to get around this?

N ° it is a limitation of Bluetooth audio...

  • 4th gen Apple tv doesn't remember connection

I bought a 4th gen Apple tv to replace my 2nd generation it about 3 months ago. My girlfriend and I have a id iTunes and one account and both are set up on the new Apple TV. On the older, we could switch between his ID and mine, based on content, we wanted to see (each of buy us our TV shows or movies). With the 4th gen ATV, it requires the password whenever we change my account to hers, and vice versa. How can I configure the ATV to remember (not required) our passwords each time we have ID?

Maybe it's not possible, see https://help.apple.com/appletv/#/atvb0753b37d. Family sharing might work, but their 'parent' allows you to pay for everything.

  • With FaceTime on the (4th gen) iPad slow after iOS 9.1 update

    Hello

People I called on Facetime on my iPad (4th gen) told me that I seem to be slow when I call them.  This happened after I upgraded my iOS to 9.1 (B 13, 143), and there is no more updates available for my iPad so I can't fix this "bug".

I am convinced that it is a "bug" that I see the person I call clearly and smoothly, even if they can't see me gently.  I then unplug my call and then call the person using once again to start Facetime on my iPhone 5 (with the same version of iOS - 9.1 (B 13, 143)) using exactly the same wifi connection in the same place.  The person I call then confirms that he or she can see me clearly and smoothly.

It is a problem, I need to resolve ASAP because I use Facetime for my meetings and it can be difficult to use my iPhone for long periods of time.

I tested this question several times over several weeks - the problem remains still and I need this problem.  I can not connect a call without having to pay for an incident - and I think that it's a software problem and not a problem for the end user.

Someone of another encounter the same problem and if someone has solved this problem?  Thank you.

Update iOS 9.2 seems to have solved this problem, even if nothing in the report of the correction of a bug that appear to be associated with FaceTime.

  • Can ATV 4th Gen be connected to APR instead of TV

My AVR (Marantz SR7007) is my central media, control, management, projector/screen TV, Wii & surrounds home theater. I need to connect the Apple TV (4th Gen) to my AVR and the TV - my APR 7 HDMI in ports. Please let me know if this is possible? Thank you. Best regards, Shailin

It is compatible DHCP and simply transmits the signal through to the TV and is not able to save the output of the Apple TV, I don't see why not. You should be able to get this information in the manual or the manufacturer

  • Not able to install apple tv 4th gen as home hub

Updated to iOS 10 yesterday. I was looking for installation up to the ATV 4th Gen as a home hub, but it is not allowing me. It works very well to set up the ipad pro as the hub, but not the ATV, which is running TVos 10, and Yes 2 verification step is on. Everyone knows about this problem? Apple is aware?

Hello. Have you seen this cannot create Apple TV (4th gen) as Home Hub?

  • 4th gen AppleTV?

Why I want to invest in a 4th Gen Apple TV?

What is the difference between the 2nd and 4th Gen?

And it is better to upgrade?

You don't 'invest' in an Apple TV. They do not appreciate in value. As to why you want to buy one, I have no idea. Why do you think you do?

The ATV-2 is no longer available is not an option to purchase. However, it is very similar to the ATV 3. You can see the technical comparison between the 3 mountain BIKE and ATV 4 here:

    https://www.Apple.com/TV/compare/

The ATV 4 has an operating system completely different than the ATV 2 and 3. You can download apps from the App Store. It also has the distance of Siri (depending on your country).

I would be ranked the ATV as a purchase pure luxury. Only you can determine if you have the discretionary money to purchase and if the sound of features than the things that you want.

  • Apple tv overscan number 4th gen

I can't configure my TV to be full screen with this 4th gen Apple TV. Very disappointed. My 3rd generation works fine, full-screen on my Sharp Aquos 1080pHD.

My TV has no overscan or PC or setting to change the field of view.

Is that going to be fixed in updates? Why I can't change the size of the screen with the apple tv? It is a joke that the 3rd generation has worked and now virtually part of my movies/TV shows is cut off due to overscan the apple tv is the creation...?

Apple, please help, please give me some advice! You want to use this impressive technology in HD, with my HD TV! 1056 x 650, set HDMI to RGB no low... Only way to display the image full screen and everything will seem grainy and as I look at on a tube TV?

    Help!

Post a picture of your sousdimensionne screen.

What TV model number do you have?

Describe the connection beween the ATV and the TV.

The port on which you are using on the TV?

  • Why is apple tv (4th Gen) using subnet different comcast

I need to figure out if there is anything special/different regaurding how ATV (4th Gen) made the resolution DNS when wired to a Comcast cable modem only (no wifi and no router)?  I notice that my ATV selects a different subnet when ATV is set automatically resolve IP and DNS.  Example of my Dell PC Tower and Sony laptop automatically use a subnet of 255.255.255.0, but ATV uses the example below:

    67.166.208.26

    255.255.252.0

    router 67.166.208.1

ATV works great just need to know why to solve network problems not related to my home office network and at home?

Hello. You say there is no router, but I guess that the Comcast modem is also a router and DHCP server. Are you using IPv6? You use a static IP address?

  • 4th gen Apple TV cannot pair with iphone remote app

Click on 'Add Apple TV' selected on TV, then was invited to enter the 4 numbers matching password shown on television. However the TV shows 4 blocks of gray rectangle instead of 4 digits.

I also checked that the apple TV and iphone are on the last OS update. What gives? This app is supposed to work with 4th gen now.

Yes, it works. This looks like some weird glitch. Using the new application ATV 4 remote control (black), or the older version, now called iTunes remotely? Try restarting the ATV using the settings > system > restart. Then try to pair it again.

  • Unable to set up Apple TV (4th gen) as Home Hub

I updated my iPhone to iOS 10 5s yesterday and today I updated my Apple TV (4th gen) to tvOS 10.

But I can't configure my Apple TV as a hub in the home on my iPhone app - the Automation tab in the hub said "Make Apple TV (4th generation) to the center of your House...» ", but offers no possibility to do so.

    I found this article:

Automate and remotely to your accessories HomeKit - Apple Support

    Who says:

    • On your Apple TV, go to settings > accounts > iCloud and make sure your Apple TV shows connected HomeKit.

But there's nothing HomeKit this page of settings on Apple TV. (Yes, my Apple ID has two-factor auth enabled.)

Does anyone have this working? Any tips?

    Thank you

    Martin

Same question here, but with 6 s iPhone more and iPad 9.7 Pro.

No "HomeKit" option under iCloud as instructions indicate there should be.

Only reference HomeKit that I could find anywhere was under "Privacy", with the only option being "Reset configuration" or something like that. Who comes to HomeKit forget all my devices.

Have activated two-factor authentication, then out of the iCloud, Apple TV, and back in. No luck. Tried to reboot several times, still nothing.

The Apple TV is clear my HomeKit Setup, because the use of the thing "Reset configuration" has had an impact on what I see on my iPhone. So I think this could be a bug in 10 TVOS. Very annoying that it breaks the new Automation features in iOS 10.

  • Can't play music bought on the cloud on Apple TV (4th gen)

I just started to use the Apple's music, and when I go to my music on my MacBook Air and iPhone/iPad, I can play anything I added whether through Apple music, music purchased from the iTunes Store or my own music that corresponded via iCloud music library.

On my Apple TV (4th gen), however, I can't play the purchased songs. Apple and my own songs music songs play fine. But if I choose one of the purchased albums, the screen does is display the album artwork for every song Flash by very quickly, but does not play anything.

Someone knows how to fix this or if this is a known bug?

    Thank you!

You can try to reboot the device, and then disconnect the store and insert it again.

  • Help with Apple TV (4th gen) ADCOM receiver.

I'm trying to connect my Apple TV (4th Gen) to my receiver with basic cable AV (sound). I have an Apple TV to TV HDMI. The audio input of the TV, I have the AV cable connected to my output of receivers. I can't understand why the sound is still coming from the television and not sound surround. Thanks for any help!

    Note:

My TV is a Sony kdf-e42a10

My receiver is an ADCOM GTP-600

It's a little tricky because of the age of your components.

You should connect the plug the ATV HDMI to TV. You then connect the stereo audio output TV at the input of the receiver. (Your description reversed entry and exit.) You must then turn off the TV speakers in the TV configuration menu and select the right input on the receiver. You get digital surround sound with this Setup, but you could get Logic Pro.

  • Apple TV remote turns on randomly 4th Gen Apple TV

    Hi guys,.

I have a 4th gen Apple TV for Christmas at work. It's pretty convenient, but it's a very weird thing: the remote control sends signals randomly when nobody is in contact with it, in fact, nobody is there, everyone is metres from the remote control. Since Apple TV is connected to my TV which is capable of HDMI-CEC, it also turns on the TV. Sometimes without any model, when we sit in the corner opposite of the same room, or at random times of the day or even at night. Sometimes I go out in the middle of the night to check on our little girl and I see that the TV is on. Apple TV will switch to standby after a certain time, but since it does not send SIGNAL to the TV via CEC, the TV stays on. Sometimes I stop the movie I'm watching something and when I come back, film runs and minutes. This causes me a real headache, not to mention that it also adds the power bills, especially when we leave for a weekend and I come home that the TV is on...

Did any of you ever heard, or it's a faulty remote with a contact problem around the buttons that need to be replaced? If the first case, how can I fix this, if the latter, will change any Apple retailer for me? There is no Apple store dedicated to Christchurch, New Zealand. My employer has ordered hundreds of Apple TV Online.

    Thank you

    Laz

I don't have to assume that someone else uses one of the old silver remotes close to Apple TV or if someone could play a joke on you with a distance more or the Apple remote on their phone app.

There was a small number of reports related to the buttons on the remote apparently stick and sending several times the same command, but I don't think I've seen all the reports to work intermittently on his own.

I've seen reports where network activity has awoken from previous models, but never where this kind of activity began a movie plays when he suspended.

I think that a good start in the resolution of what is going on here is to know if these red orders arrive via bluetooth, IR, or wifi, you could start by covering the unit to the rule (or in) re.
