My 8 victory... infected with the virus cannot start in safe mode...

recently, my computer of windows 8 has a virus... (miss click an ad pop up and it's on the computer)

I already got Malewarebytes Anti Maleware and installed AVG, but this virus that bypassed and infected my computer. I tried the standard F8 during startup to go into safe mode and run my anti virus scanners, but apparently it does not work in windows 8. Some say SHIFT F8, that does not work either. Also any other method of setting up safe menu starting boot or mode does not work as it should connect on the desktop to go threw the settings and activate it for the next boot upward. This does not work for me since the virus I have apprently made my fall display driver, after I get my user password to start the desktop computer, so I don't see anything but the pointer of the mouse, everything is black. Y at - it another way to start in safe mode or trigger a recovery system or restore without actually being on the desktop?

Why windows might change?

I already ordered a recovery disk as that seemed to be my only option. But the works of windows 8 way I will NEVER buy a computer with it again. Cannot start in safe mode and can't do the simplest task without being a great test. It's crazy. I thought that windows 8 was supposed to be simple and easy to use!

Please reset your PC. The procedure is given in the link below:

If this does not help, recovery of the system to the factory settings. Consult the following document:

  • Cannot start in safe mode

I am new to this forum and have probably been posted in the wrong place. I have 3 computers with xp (2 with oem Dell). A computer would lock at black screen but would go in safe mode, then it would not go into safe mode, then the second computer did the same thing.  I tried restoring the system on the first computer before it would not start in safe mode that didn't work. The second computer is locked then it would not run even in safe mode. I can start with a 3rd party disk and view readers but cannot run virus programs... I don't have a disc that allows to repair xp because the 2 I have xp only installs to the original installation and I lose all my files and programs. If someone could help it would be appreciated.

  • After Malware that my login is disabled cannot start in safe mode

    Hi if anyone can help.

A friend tried to watch movies online, I'm not sure of the site they visited, but were asked to install MacKeeper and I believe that they did, as I noticed it was to download and installed the following day and I asked them why they did this and they said it was the only way to watch movies!

Anyway to cut a long story short my friend then called me to say they received a "pop" window to say that my computer has a virus and call a number of 1800... I told them to do nothing certainly not call the number and I would like to sort.

So basically since then that then I can not connect to my main account at the start, the section where you type your password won't let me type into it and there is a symbol of the brand of 'question' next to it. If I hold my mouse over the question mark I get a dialog box stating "Please enter your password to iCloud as... as well as the date. I can only login as a guest and I cannot connect in 'safe' mode by holding down the SHIFT key.

I deleted the MacKeeper Application (and also another OS player application that is newly installed the same day!) and empty the memory cache of my browsers and also now upgraded to 10.11.6

I also run disk utilities, but still I'm getting this problem trying to connect to my main user account!

I think that it is some kind of malware, does anyone have ideas how to solve at least the connection problem?

If I could stamp out to see if there is any malware stuff going on behind the scenes it would be too great!

    All suggestions welcome.

    Thanks, Ciaran

How did you uninstall the MacKeeper application? Please be as specific as possible, unless you have followed the steps, I suspect that your system has installed to uninstall. If this is the case then you will need to re-install and uninstall immediately by following the instructions of developers. Otherwise, the best thing to do is to do a wipe and installing OS X and then manually install your applications and restore your data from your Time Machine backup.

I'm sure you probably learned to not let this 'friend' enter the 100' of your computer.

  • Lost start menu / no. icons on bottom / cannot start in safe mode / can not use windows fix option

After a restart of my computer I have more a start menu bar or icons on my background.  Things seem to work ok most of the time, but my pc hangs on the blue screen more than before.

I tried to reset my computer to a previous point of reset but my help and support option does not work and when I use the option in the advanced start-up splash screen it appears that it nothing happens because I find myself with the same State of no start bar or the desktop icons.

I also tried to start my computer in safe mode, but it hangs and never completes the operation.

My computer came with an installation disk ever because he has been on a hidden HD (Dell 9200) partition but I can't access it because during startup, it hangs at the same place as my safe mode option blocks so I can't use the windows fix option.

Can anyone think of anything I can do to fix this?  I got it to work by removing the file Explorer in my window of Task Manager running it again, but this seems to be a symptom of a larger problem because I get the blue screen.

It is up to you and if you want to wait. You still need a hard disk physically viable well. Maybe you want to just wait and then break the RAID 0, treat readers as being separate and test with the diagnostic utility before installing Win7. You do a clean install anyway.

I'm really happy with Win7. Just make sure you have the drivers for it. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • Computer infected with the virus. USB drives no longer appear in Windows Explorer.

    Original title: attack viruses, help...

My friend has a computer that is running windows XP. She asked for help on what to do when several virus has infected his computer.

I tried my best, but the virus has turned off. The Task Manager, msconfig are impossible to perform. the computer had a virus which is the reason why it continues to be infected. The last scan I made from a usb key which has been infected to leave the computer has revealed five different viruses and worms, each of them spread through usb drives. It's the worst case of infection, I had ever seen.  I tried to scan with the scanner but it did not work. The computer crashed, and when I turned it on things have become much worse. USB drives no longer appear in the Explorer, the computer reads no more and the old xp theme has disappeared, his running today on classic. Help me please.

    Please follow the steps below:

On a friend or a member of the family computer, download the files installation and update Malwarebytes from the links below, copy them to a CD or a flash drive, then transfer the files on the problem machine and use them. If you cannot start the computer in 'normal' windows, try to install, update and running AFTER the computer scans are started in Mode safe... I use the sites below to download the installation file and the manual update:

Once downloaded and before moving the machine to the problem, rename the Setup file "mbam - setup.exe" to something like "Gogetum.exe", and then copy the installation file and the update on a CD or a flash drive file... Transfer the file to the problem machine, install the "Gogetum.exe" file, and then run the update for the current program... After that, run a full system scan and delete everything it finds.

Install Malwarebytes-download link (by clicking the links below will immediately start the download dialog window.)

    http://www.Malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free>

Then download the SuperAntispyware program and the manual update of the links below. After you run the Malwarebytes tool that above, if you still cannot download and install directly from the problem machine, download it to a friend or a family member computer as well. After installation and update SuperAntispyware, run a full system scan and delete everything it finds as well. As before, you may need to rename the Setup file for the Setup program. :

  • Can manage Windows XP Home Edition of Windows 8? Get the error codes for the security updates (0 x 643). ALL through Microsoft Tech INFECTED with the virus and Trojans tried. I need help BADLY. Thank you.

I tried every thing blessed with technology microsoft... always hanging in limbo here.  Tired of doing constant comprehensive analyses, etc. in order to remove the constant threats.  Apparently my McAfee can't stay with her either.  Need help with the download/repair these seeds as soon as possible.  Thanks to all those who wish to help me - it would be that popular, for sure!

    The question makes no sense.

"Can manage Windows XP Home Edition of Windows 8?"

Two problems: there is no Windows 8 and even if there were, Windows XP Home Edition would not not 'manage '.  ;-)

I drop McAfee for a few different freeware products.  Or better yet I'd get two products 'cost' (~ 25 and 60 dollars) and install them and use them in the future - but WHEN you are trying to clean up.

You seem like you maybe sincerely - at a time when a format/install of Windows XP/patching/installation of applications/patch/restore backups of your data is the best course of action.

However, if you are willing to work - maybe we can at least get things cleaned up to a certain point where you can get a good backup before doing this (otherwise avoid doing all together.)

In the order shown, do not jump (no matter what you do, what you have done in the past, etc.) ...

First of all - download, install, operate and put to update and then run a full system scan with the following two (one at a time, reboot in-between):

After you perform a full scan with one then the other and remove anything they have all two are completely, you can uninstall these products, if you wish.  This initiative will allow to check there is no malware floating around your system which could cause problems.  If you ask - no, Norton probably does not protect you from what these applications can find.

Download and run the MSRT tool manually:
