  If you can send an email to your Gmail address, then you can log, because you can't do one without the other.  What makes you think that your account has been hacked?  Have you tried to go on the Google site and change your password?

  As for you, if you can still access your mailbox, log in using a web browser, change your password, update the security features, and you should be sure again.

  Know that it is a forum for peer-to-peer.  You don't talk to Microsoft directly here.

  The real answer is that you can * never * regain access to your account, because there may be no real connection you can prove between you (as an individual) and the account you are trying to access.

  Probably you have not paid to the account, the password was probably not difficult (or if it had probably been changed lately) and once it's been hacked (if it was) a sneaky/destroyer hacker would have just erased everything on it and started using it to spam all what they whomeever they wanted.  Although there is a chance that it does not - the chance is equal that he did - if you * are * able to prove somehow this account is linked to you in a meaningful way (this way to be determined by the Microsoft support) and are then able to restore access to the account - you can always get nothing back, you have not backed up elsewhere (backups - they are good for ALL of your electronic data).

  No one here can help you.  If you can't get help via http://windowslivehelp.com/ then post your problem to the Hotmail Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/hotmail) and maybe you will get a response there.

  You don't have some guilt here because you have neglected to keep your recovery to update information.  If recover you your account, make sure that your password is complex (superior at least ten and letters lower case letters, numbers and punctuation marks) and unguessable via a dictionary attack, you do not answer the security questions with answers that can be found by searching for (i.e. answer you incorrectly so that no one can guess the answer) and specify multiple addresses so that an attacker cannot insert its own without you know about it.  In addition, never use Hotmail in a public network without using an encrypted connection (https).
