I know it will be jarring, but you can try the "Restore defaults" button in Firefox Safe Mode? In Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily disables extensions, hardware acceleration, and a few other advanced features to help you determine if they are at the origin of the problem.

Does not work if Firefox: Hold down the SHIFT key when you start Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Mode safe mode using either:

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > restart with disabled modules
    • Help menu > restart with disabled modules

    and OK reboot.

Two scenarios: A small dialog box should appear. Click on 'Start mode safe' (not update).

The customization panel works in Mode safe?

And if so and you use Restore Defaults, Firefox looks better when you go out and start again normally?

  • I can't connect to the internet via my host after uninstalled antivirus software and restart

I can't connect to the internet via my host after uninstalled antivirus software and restart it.

I use windows xp on my host computer and all computers in my client. After that I uninstalled the free trial NIS version and restart my host, I lost the internet connection. Tried to restore with the restoration of the system, but when I restarted it, it said the system restore could not be made. I changed it then with my laptop and I can connect to the internet as the host.

    Hello

This can happen if the uninstall process fails and leaves behind a Symantec registry value. See the following Symantec article.

Unable to connect to the Internet after uninstalling Norton AntiVirus.

    http://Service1.Symantec.com/support/NAV.nsf/8d071816eedd7cac88256c0e005a96e5/751c3298ab99cf7188256d34006702e2?OpenDocument

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. When I try to open any site, I click on enter then the address bar erases everything and nothing happens. This happens even in the search bar (but the rest of the input string).
I tried following these steps - 't-load-troubleshoot-and-fix-errors https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/websites-don but nothing works.
I even deleted the folder "Firefox" from the private folder ('% APPDATA%\Mozilla\') and the problem persists.

It is possible that your security (firewall, antivirus) software blocks or limit Firefox or the process of plugin-container without you inform, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.

Delete all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container in the permissions list in the firewall and leave your firewall again ask permission to get full unlimited access to the internet for Firefox and the plugin-container and the update process.

  • Vista theme disappeared after installing SP2

I updated vista 64 Service Pack 2 to allow the installation of ie9.  After installing sp2, my taskbar has been changed and the vista theme completely disappeared.  Areas of the screen are now much brighter, lighter or white (taskbar now is almost white and has the old style box 'Start').  I went in the 'appearance' of the control panel section and searched the vista theme - it's gone.  Installation of task bar that I had before the sp2 update is missing.  How can I get that back?  I tried to remove and reinstall sp2 and restore to earlier date and put it back - no matter what I do the screwed up theme with no option to get the old back.  Everything else works fine.  How to bring back the task of vista bar/color theme?  Is there a file I can load up?  I'm tired of wasting time of uninstallation/reinstallation.  We don't like also how change is so brilliant screen - and we do not find a way to change that either - there is no manual ocntrols and not to tarnish the brightness - no indication 'aid' does not provide - it says adjust buttons that do not exist.  How to bring back the vista theme?

  • IMPOSSIBLE TO INSTALL ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE

Recently, I uninstalled NORTON INTERNET SECURITY to my laptop but I did not remove my Norton settings (this is an option during the uninstall process). After that I downloaded Avast Home, but I could not register the software (I thought that something was wrong with my internet connection). Now I am trying to install Mcafee or Kaspersky, but I did not install both of them. Both programs tells me there is a problem with my internet connection, even if my connection is fine.

also I asked someone e about it and he told me 'all my computer connections are blocked.

OS: Windows Vista editions Home Premium

Download the Norton Removal Tool and run it. Then, uninstall all other programs antivirus firewall and third-party that may have also installed. After that the computer has no installed antivirus and Security Center displays this, install AN antivirus program.

It sounds like the hard drive has been damaged.

You are perhaps lucky that your computer was not more badly damaged.
Whenever there is a thunderstorm in the vicinity, you should always power off
and unplug the computer everything--electricity and internet
connection. If you do not, you run the risk of destroying the whole of the
    computer.

Do not expect a surge protector to help you. Most of them are really
no more than extensions of fantasy and even the best of them is
insufficient to protect against thousands of volts that a neighbor
    Lightning can cause.

  • The desktop icons disappeared after installing updates

Original title: almost all of the icons that I had on my desktop disappeared following updates of today 5/11.  There were 19 updates so I don't know which ones to uninstall. What should I do?

    Using IE9.

    Hi DECantrell,

Because the problem started after installing Windows updates, you will need to perform a system restore before the updates were installed

You can try a system restore to a restore point before the updates were installed.

Note: When you perform the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

To run the system restore, you can consult the following link:
