My Airport Time Capsule can act as a WIRELESS access point
Hello.
I brought a Time Capsule with my Mac Pro. It worked well since yesterday.
I have set up the time Capsule as a WIFI, bypass at my local network access point. There is a router (cable) works at home.
It's my Mac Pro AirPort Utility and my iPhone, my Time Capsule is displayed with an exclamation point saying "device not found". I can't connect to the disk on this subject by afp share, or smb. Time Machine function is gone too. He failed trying to connect to the share drive from another computer connected to the time Capsule by cable network.
But at the same time, WiFi works well.
I tried to recycle energy. Sharing disk will be available. But if I start the Time Machine backup, it will not be a few seconds.
Any idea?
Thank you.
There are several posts here related the issue.
Luckily, you have set up your new Time Capsule for Back to My Mac (BTMM)?
If so, the 'temporary' solution is to delete/disable the option of the CCMM, as follows:
- Run the AirPort Utility.
- Select the base and then station, select change.
- On the tab of the Base Station, go back to the section of my Mac at the bottom of the window.
- If you have entries here, select it and click then the minus sign "-" button to remove it.
- Click on update and allow the base station restart.
If you have not enabled CCMM, we have other options for you to try.

Airport Time Capsule 2 TB blocking my internet access.
I just bought a new airport Time Capsule 2 TB. When it is plugged in and running, I lose access to the internet! There is a wifi wireless in the House. What is the cause?
There is a wifi wireless in the House. What is the cause?
Potentially, Yes. Network Wi - Fi of the new Time Capsule can interfere with this other Wi - Fi router. What is the brand and model of the other device? What are your objectives of networking for the Time Capsule (TC)? In other words, do you want to expand the wireless of the other device, or create another Wi - Fi network, or something else?

The WRT600N can connect to a wireless access point?
I installed Windows 7 on my desktop and I was not able to install all types of Linksys wireless adapters. I decided that linking an my WRT600N wireless access point in the other room and hardwireing the office to the access point, would be a good idea. I'm probably going to connect it to a Net WTG624 Gear, which is capable of acting as an access point and you connect to another router. The question is, can the WRT600N you connect to and use the internet and the local access and, ultimately, on the Office of cable? I feel that it is one of the most stupid questions, I ask myself here again, but I'm not sure.
EDIT: I'm sure it's called Wireless Bridge.
Thank you
Zach
Hello Zach,
The WRT600N can connect at the point of access, and vice-versa. I have a WRT600N home and have the same model of NetGear as access point (what are the chances?) and it works fine, although I do miss the 5 GHz as the Access Point is only 2.4 Ghz 802.11 g Standard.
I hope this helps!

A WRT160N V3 can be used as wireless access point.
I have an AT & T's broadband router. A WRT160N is connected, so I now have Wireless N capabilities. I have a second WRT160N I want to put in my living room as a point of access, so I can connect my BluRay player and video stream. How can I configure the second WRT160N as access point?
Thank you in advance,
Andrew
Topic 1. Yes, you can use your second WRT and put in place as a second access point to your network. First of all, unplug the second WRT to your network and wire a computer in one of its LAN ports. Open the web interface at http://192.168.1.1/ on the main configuration page, change the address LAN IP of 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.2 and disable the DHCP server. Save the settings. Unplug the computer and connect the cable to the first router on one of the second router's LAN ports. Do not use the internet port of the second router! Now you can use the wireless access point in the second router as access point additional for your network.
For a wireless roaming the two Wrds with identical wireless settings (SSID, wireless security, etc.) and don't forget to enable the SSID broadcast. Only the channel assignments should be different. Different channels spaced at least 5 avoids duplication of canals. Now your laptop can connect to your network via either WRT and internet through the first WRT. It must also be able to move between the two Wrds without losing the connection.
Re 2. Because the WRT160N has only the ethernet 10/100 ports a CAT5e cable should do. Of course, you can consider getting a better cable, for example a cat6 for future enhancements to your network. It depends on how much effort it is necessary to replace the cable later if you decide to go for gigabit ethernet on your local network.

Use WAN connected airport Time Capsule as a wireless access point
I had to replace a failed 4 Gen Time Capsule. I tried to install a new Gen 5 airport TimeCapsule via WAN and set up the airport to act as a wireless access point. It is installed in an area of my house with wireless coverage. In the network of AirPort Utility Mode section, I chose "extend a wireless network. The TC is restarted, I get an error message cannot find the intended wireless network.
What I lack?
"Extend a wireless network" is a parameter that is only used if the time Capsule need to connect to another router from Apple with the help of a Wi-Fi connection.
You use Ethernet to connect, you must use the parameter to "create a wireless network. Use the same wireless network name and the same password as your "primary" router

Time machine can finish no backup on airport time capsule
Time machine can finish no backup on airport time capsule.
explanation: there is no access to the/volumes/data-1/macbook diskcopiefile xxxx.sparsebundle that is used to back-up pro (error (null))
The network failed to halfway through the backup.
To resolve this problem, we need to know your complete network type.
This modem do you have? Brand and model please.
Who is your ISP? It is important for the IPv6 configuration.
What model is the TC?
What the configuration of TC in the network?
How old is the MBP? If you have an ethernet port that you use it instead of wireless?
Is this a first backup? Or were you works well for awhile and it's broken now?

I just can't get my Airport time capsule on the internet.
I bought an airport Time Capsule and a MacBook Air, have set up their, I access my files inside the airport TC, but I can't access the Web, away from home.
What should I do?
It is necessary to have a Mac at home connected to access?
Setup using Airport utility it does not appear to me the ability to access over WAN. How can I do?
I already configured the back to my mac option.
Can someone help me?
Please take a look at the following airport user tip for, at least, three methods to access your Time Capsule from a remote location.

Time Machine (on Mac) does not detect the airport Time Capsule
Originally posted on the page of the airport, but seems to be the better question for this group. Sorry for the double post
Looking for advice on how to get the Time Machine utility for access to my Time Capsule. I use an iMac in late 2012 with MAC OS 10.12 TimeCapsule is 2015 7.7.7 running latest firmware. Airport utility is the latest firmware 6.3.7.
When I run the application Time Machine, Time Capsule is not detected. I tried the two WiFi and with cables connected Ethernet (not tried USB yet) and my Time Capsule doesn't have a lightning bolt or firewire ports.
Open Airport utility & see the airport time capsule. I can see all connected devices, including the MAC, but no prompt activation Time Machine on the Time Capsule.
I recently used TM on this iMac with a G-Technology drive. It auto detects the time machine and executes a back up. But airport Time Capsule will not.
Any suggestions?
Sierra has been problematic with the TC.
1. make sure you don't have any charge virus protection software. In fact, I would say that disable all software 3rd part at the moment.
2. make sure that you can actually write to disk of TC.
Attach the TC disc in the finder and copy a file on disk, you can delete it later... It's just to ensure that you have full write permission. If it does not for the most part, you won't be able to use Time Machine... If you can then try TM immediately...
Just to be clear, the TC is a network device. You have tested with ethernet and wireless... Ok.. They are only suitable methods. You cannot use USB. And clearly, TC has never had nor will never be ports Firewire or lightning.
3. no chance that a reset complete TC. This will not delete the files on the hard drive, but you must make sure that the device is configured on the current computer.
4. There are many positions in these days... read through them and do some research. Sierra is a bleeding edge new... So wait you to spend a lot of the precious liquid if you choose to be an early adopt.

HOW THE AIRPORT TIME CAPSULE WIRELESS NETWORK IS PROTECTED?
I implemented the airport Time Capsule, using a DSL modem connected to the internet as its bridge. MacBook Pro was used for initial set up by the bolt of lightning to Ethernet connector and then disconnected and works perfectly. Now, I would like to use Wi - Fi for my Samsung phone not iOS. On the Samsung wireless I connect to my home network using a password. Well, I don't think that a password was never set. How can I configure my wifi at home to establish a password? I don't think that the modem settings should enter in solving this for me, but I'll add that the modem required a static IP address be entered for this connection when its router features have been disabled for the connection of bridge.
If the Time Capsule (TC) provides the wireless network, then you can secure it using AirPort Utility, as follows:
- Run the AirPort Utility.
- Select the TC and then, select change.
- Select the wireless tab.
- In the wireless security, select the type of security. I highly recommend that you choose: WPA2 Personal
- Enter a password in the field password wireless. Enter the same password in the verify password.
- Select Update.

Airport Time Capsule and WD MyBook
I'm a newbie Macbook Pro owner, about a week now, El Capitan running.
I've just hung up my Airport Time Capsule (3 t) and it seems to work, as the reports of Time Machine backup complete. I am also connected to the WiFi Airport.
The Installation Guide says I can connect a hard drive via the USB port. I have connected a WD MyBook USB port; It is in the format exFAT and contains the data from my old computer to Windows 7.
What should I do to make this available for the Macbook Pro? I don't see anywhere in the finder.
The time Capsule cannot read USB drives to NTFS or exFAT format. Plug it directly into the Mac.

AirPort Time Capsule Help!
I have an airport Time Capsule, which supported my computer for the last 2 years. We have recently changed our router and now cannot save. This is obviously because of the wifi name and different password for what is stored in the time Capsule. I looked at various manuals and notes help but it says click on edit and I don't see it. There is no change when I go to Applications - Utilities - airport, just my time capsule with
Open Airport utility. Go to wireless setup using the menu of the button on the upper part of the Airport utility display window. Here, you can change what you need to change - the network name Wi - Fi and the new password. Click Update when finished.

Files of WD My Cloud Airport time capsule
I use 2T WD My Cloud as a hard disk to backup to my MacBook Pro 13 "2.5 GHz Core i5. How can I do all of my WD My Cloud backup files, transfer to the airport time Capsule. So did anyone get an answer to this question?
Copy and paste the sparsebundle Time Machine.
But we do not recommend usually people do. It is much better to just start a new backup for the TC and the old backup on the WD mycloud until you build up a sufficient history... say 3 months on the TC... then you can wipe.

Need help with the implementation of a replacement airport Time Capsule
Hi... Recognizing the help. My 1 TB airport Time Capsule (ATC) crashed and I bought a new 2 TB ATC to replace. In my preference system, Time Machine reflects that my ATC 1 TB is still active. How to pay safely my 2 new cases of tuberculosis ATC to replace the 1 TB ATC?
Assuming that you 1. already connected the new TC on your network, and/or 2. you were able to save all data on TC 1 TB, or simply do not take care of him You can just open Time Machine preferences, turn the Time Machine off, and then select the disk in the new time Capsule. A brand-new first backup starts to run, and it will certainly take time.
Another option is to connect the new TC on ethernet directly on your Mac and then select the Time Machine preferences, this will speed up the first backup.
In case you were able to archive the old backup and transfer it to your new TC, you will continue your backup schedule by simply selecting the new TC in Time Machine preferences.
I hope this helps.

Airport Time Capsule 3 TB from
Hi I want to buy airport Time Capsule 3 TB of storage and to share my video, music, another document to my mac, iPhone and the other device that we have in our House, so I can do this and make my films and another doc who are on the airport time capsule or it is just to give the backup?
TNX
What you ask is known as a media server.
The Capsule is not a server media... it is a router with a built-in hard drive designed to back up the data on your Mac. Consider a Time Capsule for this effect, but not others.
