  OK, I need help.  I got my phone locked with a password.  Then this kid I know approached and hit a few buttons on my phone, l ' turn off.  He knows almost nothing about BB, just a few tips family member showed him.  How can I do it myself, for later use, and how can I avoid this?

  The only way I can think to do that would be to hold down the power button for a few seconds. It will work even when it is locked. The only way I know is maybe locking the device, and then put the machine to sleep. I just tested this, and while in standby I can press the power button and I do not get the prompt that the device is about to be turned off. I can only exit standby pressing the standby key

  Hello world. I have a problem. went to verizon and they couldn't help me. My phone got wet (in the Pocket all raining) kept phone turn off after 3 seconds. When the phone is finally back, the ball should scroll to the top and bottom but would do nothing when you press down.

  I have a password on my phone so I hit the Enter key instead of use the ball. BUT... when I went to enter my password I discovered than the Q, P and DEL keys did not work. strange. These are the two keys to outer edge of each side of the phone.

  If I could get the key to work, I would be all set. The tech at verizon button is popped and tried using a thumbtack, but it did not work. Can blackberry remotely delete an existing password? I know that sounds stupid, but I'm desperate.

  You can't break or bypass the password. You set here for a reason and that BB works as it should to be sure.

  On your laptop, load Desktop Manager version 4.6 without the media manager

  Make a backup of your device. It will ask for the IPL in DM, and you can enter on the laptop there. Full backup.

  THEN, when you get the new device, use Switch Device Wizard DM to transfer everything on the new BB... yet once you enter the PW of the former.

  If you synchronize with Outlook, do also, as a precaution, the old appliance.

  So far, my experience with the Blackberry Storm has wishing me fervently I didn't buy the phone or even looked at it. Why? simple. whenever I'm on a call and and so unhappy as to touch my face out of the phone, TI puuts the pople, I'm on the call to we hold, mutes them cutting me, etc etc etc. Th phone is more this kind of incident to be broken into pieces in a fit of fury rigtheous. Someone must have thought that a screen lock would be an idea of common sense to stop this problem, but I do not see anything telling me how and Blackberry responses! installation was as much a drink of water to chocolate. Someone can please and if there is no existing method to do someone on the EDGE please apply a little common sense and put it in a software update?

  Anyone know where the settings are for the phone case.  When I put the phone in the case and then get out a little, and I mean, a little later, I continue to find the LOCKED phone.  Well, I guess for security, but it's a nuisance.  Where are the settings to stop what is happening. ?

  Options > Security Options > General settings.  There should be a setting for "Lock Handheld on Holstering."  There are also settings for timeouts, etc.  As long as you don't have NOT control these policy settings you can change it.

  Hi, I use a BB Storm 9530 with Verizon, OS 4.7.0.148, App World v1.1.0.23, (personal) BIS and BES (working).

  I had installed a third-party application (QuickPull Free) via AppWorld, then I started having problems with it so I decided to uninstall it and then reinstall it.  I deleted the application by selecting its icon, and then pressing Menu-DELETE (i.e., I deleted it WITHOUT using AppWorld). Now I try to reinstall it. When I go to AppWorld and My World, he appears as installed. When I select, I get the loading... message with the green bar, but nothing happens.  Help!  How can I get AppWorld to know that it's been deleted?

  Oh, wait... I think that I've missed something in your original post you highlight the icon and fact BBKey > delete? As in, the icon that you would normally used to run PS? If so, it is not always a surefire way to remove an application from a BB. See this KB:

  As the KB discusses, you should check using method 1 if you do with method 2 (which I think you did)... I bet that the app still shows as installed (using method 1).

  I had T-mobile connection and data on the blackberry Curve 8900 phone plan. Finally I moved to the India and my phone was unlocked by T-mobile. Now my carrier is Airtel and I don't have a data plan with my carrier.

  When I try to connect my phone with WiFi, Internet works fine in browsers (both in Internet explore and Opera) but applications like gmail, facebook... do not work.

  For example:

  Facebook - data not available error service

  I've set up my 8360 curve but I can not set the number of rings of real phone I can for other filers. I saw the message in the Blackberry manual which said that it could be controlled by the provider - in this case Vodafone. I got in touch with them, but they say that they have no control over that. They can provide me with a code to extend the time before it goes to voicemail, but it does not affect the number of rings.

  I can change the volume and I have control on the vibration and the LED but I can't change the number of rings of 1. Can it be changed and, if so, how?

  You can try dialing abbreviated number below. This is supported by the majority of GSM operators.

  • to set the number of rings: * 61 * YourVoiceMailNumber * N # send/Yes button
  • to cancel the setting: # 61 # then press send/Yes

  If your mobile phone voicemail number, for example: + 12-34-567-890-1234 , and you want your phone to divert to voicemail after say 20 seconds, and then type: * 61 *+ 12345678901234* # 20

  The time can be up to 30secs (default network)

  BlackBerry Desktop Software has a swap device Wizard.  Takes you through it step by step, very easy.

  Two suggestions:

  -Do beforehand another backup on your original device

  -When you are prompted to erase the decline, an old (you can wipe off in a week or two, once you are happy on your new device and some you go back and all your data is on the new device).

  Can also make sure that you use the latest BlackBerry Desktop Software as well.
