my broadband speed is lagging on Windows but is normal in safe mode. Why?

my broadband has to operate at 50 m, but I get only 25 m in normal mode, but when I do a test in safe mode with network I have complete 5 m can you tell me why and there at - it anytyhing I change mode normal mode to fix this

Hello

1. you got speed broadband before without any problem?

2. did you of recent changes on the system?

3 Windows operating system you are using?

Method 1:

As the bandwidth works correctly in safe mode with networking, you can try to perform a clean boot and check if it helps.

A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.

You can read the following article to put the computer in a clean boot:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.

Method 2:

You can temporarily disable the third-party antivirus and firewall installed on the computer and try to install the drivers and see if that fixes the problem.

If disabling the antivirus software solves the problem, you may need to configure the settings of the antivirus as a result program. Please contact the software vendor for assistance in this regard.

Note: Make sure that you enable the antivirus software, other security and firewall after the test programs.

System Restore IS NOT the way to remove malware. The reason why you do not see the effects of the malware in safe mode is probably due to the fact that the process for most malware does not load in safe mode, and therefore not active.

Restart the computer in Safe Mode with network. Click HERE. Download Malwarebytes. Update Malwarebytes and perform a full scan.  Choose to quarantine found nothing. Once completed click HERE and download Superantispyware Portable. Run a full scan quarantined found anything yet. Restart your computer in normal mode and perform a quick scan with Malwarebytes.

    can you help me

    Hello

You try to perform the factory restore?

We do not recommend factory restore, because by the factory restore, you will lose all the data present in the computer. Factory restore will restore your computer to factory settings.

I suggest that disconnect you all external devices except the keyboard and mouse, and then restart the computer. Leave the computer to complete the process and do not touch anything until the process is complete.

If this does not help, then it would be best to contact Acer to get help.

  • "Windows Vista Security Center" close browser windows, precise I have a virus, and now no programs will be opened. Windows does not start in safe mode, and all the system restore points have already disappeared.

    Hello

I have a Dell laptop under Windows Vista Premium. I got it for about three years, and he is upset enough ok tonight. In the middle of browsing the internet, check my email, etc., all but one of my browser windows close at random, and a message appears "windows vista Security Center" whenever I try to open a new window, blocking of the site and to say that the site is dangerous and my system has been infiltrated by a Trojan horse. Then he starts the scan and says that I must buy the full to get everything to work again. I closed everything, since I already have McAfee antivirus and internet security, but it does not, and neither did any other progams. I tried restarting in safe mode to restore a backup point, but Windows does not open in safe mode, rather stick for half an hour in the middle of loading. When I managed to start windows in normal mode, I found that all my past restore points had been erased.

This happened to someone else, and it is fixable without wiping everything?

    Thanks in advance,
    Emma

    Hi Emma,

This could be due to a virus on your computer.  Try to make a virus on your computer scan to check if your computer is infected.

My goal is to address "input not supported" error on Acer screen box.  By online advice I press F8 and hold the restart before Windows logo appears but is not in safe mode {I tried this step several times].  If it is my computer is Dell 8500 i7-3770 x and I video cable plugged into the card of chart 1 GB NVIDIA GeForce CT via an adapter supplied with the computer. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

You can access the SafeMode normal mode by selecting Start, run, type msconfig and press the ENTER key. Click on the Startup tab and check the box before the secure startup, click apply and then click OK and restart your computer.

To return to the normal mode, you follow the same procedure except that you uncheck the box before the secure boot.

Dell ionsipion 1525-VISTA OS - computer when asking to start the normallyor launch startup repair... .errors will not fix, go to the windows... page only the microsoft corporation and bar shows - lights on the bars are moving.  If I hit f8 and try to start in safe mode-sfe mode freezes while it loads the drivers - if I try the system restore, it says I have a corupt file and when I run disc chk it says all files are OK but then it asks me for another disc that i have not... any ideas

If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.

3 Alternatively, use Knoppix Live CD to recover data:

Download/save the file Knoppix Live CD ISO above.

Download the Vista software from the link above.

After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.

Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.

Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1st in the boot order.

Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.

When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.

Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.

Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).

  • Able to boot normally to Windows 7 but can not start safe mode

Hi, I have a laptop of Lenovo who has Windows 7 Home Premium installed on it.

I had a few problems with not being able to see all the videos on CNN or the Weather Channel site, is not showing me any local report.  So I thought that I would try to start safe mode to make certain shortcomings.  (I can see videos very well elsewhere).  This happens on all 3 browsers I have (11 IE, Firefox and Chrome.

However, after pressing F8 and get the option screen, once I chose the Mode safe mode (with or without network) it works the list of drivers and then darkens with only the arrow on the pointer in the center of the screen and stays like that for a long time without anything happening.

I already ran all antivirus programs and spyware that I have, but nothing changes.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello Clifton,

Please provide a detailed description of the issue.

I understand the inconvenience you encountered. However, I really appreciate your efforts to resolve the issue.

In order to understand the issue more clearly, I would ask that kindly provide me with the following information.

    1. You did it all changes specific to the computer before this problem?

    2. Are you able to see other boot with safe mode options?

It is possible that this problem would have occurred either due to system files that have gone wrong in the system.

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

Please follow the steps below give and check if that helps.

    1. Click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press enter.

    2. Select the tab Startup and check the Startup in the section startup options and the value of the radio button to a minimumand then click OK.

    3. The following System Configuration prompt, select restart or exit without restart . Whatever it is, the next boot will take you into safe mode.

Note: Make sure that you put the computer to Start Normal once you have completed troubleshooting. Open msconfig in the same way as above, and then on the tab startup uncheck the safe boot check box.

If the problem persists, follow method 2

    Method 2:

Run the system restore and restore the system to a date when it was working fine. To do this, please follow the steps in the link provided below.

    System Restore: frequently asked questions

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/system-restore-FAQ#1TC=Windows-7

Note: When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

I hope this information is useful.

Please let us know if you need more help, we will be happy to help you.

  • New installation of Windows 7 translates speeds very slow of the internet. Works in safe mode.

    3 weeks ago, I installed windows 7.

For some reason, internet is super slow. I noticed right away because the download of the updates took forever. I thought it was because I need to install the NIC drivers, so I only have the first. It didn't fix it. Then, I searched and tried everything I could find online. The only thing that did work was that if I boot mode safe mode with network speed is very well .

When I discovered that, in safe mode, everything was fine, that I started to disable any service that relates to networking. (As the Base and support Ip filtering engine, etc) This does not solve it so I decided to try the oppisite I started in safe mode with network and then loaded to the top of msconfig and any service that was not running in safe mode, I turned off. Thinking that I start one by one and find out what service was slowing downloads. When I booted in normal mode, the download speeds were still broken.

So I continued then to disable services, I disabled all services which have to do with networking, and to enable windows.  (Things like the service that launches programs. Yes, any program that has not been opened I could not open.) Accordingly, I have concluded that it was not all services.

This is a new installation, so I only installed firefox and flash. (no flash for the speed test) no anti-virus, etc.

Here are a few screens of speed trials. These are actually kind of funny because the download is so fast that downloads.

It is in safe mode with network speed. http://imgur.com/7VJvt

It's the speedtest in normal mode, http://imgur.com/dDp5B

    So here's what I tried.

    • disabled auto-tuning
    • disabled IPv6
    • turned off homegroup
    • reinstalled drivers
    • drivers uninstalled (for default windows drivers)
    • Install different drivers (installed a game on the asus site) and the other on the nvidia site
    • disabled many services to many-on-list really out.
    • disabled Windows defender and windows firewall.
    • I bought new RAM with the win7 update so I tested to see if the RAM was bad. I ran Memtest86 + and it failed. So I took the new RAM and he run and all past. Still doesn't solve it.
    • I reinstalled.
    • I installed another network card.
    • I installed another version of Win 7. (Installed Win7 professional first and after Win7 Ultimate)
    • reinstalled the drivers again.
    • Disable all of the services.
    • A run anti-virus programs. To make sure that there are no viruses. There are not.
    • I connected directly to my router.
    • All the latest windows updates installed.
    • Checked online to see if my hardware is compatible with Win7 http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Details.aspx?type=Hardware&p=ASUS%20P5N-D%20ATX%20-%20nForce%20750i%20SLI%20Motherboard&v=ASUS&uid=P5N-D%20BULK&l=en-US&pf=0&pi=0&s=P5N-D&os=64-bit
    • Made sure my router had the latest version of the firmware. There not then I upgraded to V1.9 and it has not solved the problem.

Here is some information on my hardware.

Processor: Intel (r) Core (TM) 2 CPU Quad Q9400 clocked at 2.66 GHz, Intel64 family 6 model 23 Stepping 10

So I pray that you guys can help me with this. I have no idea what to do next. Help, please.

    Thank you.

    FIXED!

So I gave up and gave my computer to my friend at home and take a look. He brought me.

What did do? He went out and bought a new network card. I guess that despite the windows NETWORK card drivers 7 I installed windows for some reason any dislikes the network card. (NVidia nForce 10/100/1000 Mbit / s) It is built in the nice for the card mother P5N - D.

The funny thing is that 3 1/2 weeks, when I had the problem. I asked him what he thought and he said to go out and buy a new network card. When I hesitated to do so, he said he would buy the NIC if it did not work.

In any case, I hope this helps someone maybe who has the same problem, I did.

  • d5200t (NE504AV-ABA): computer d5200t fails to ask if I want to start in safe mode but still starts in safe mode

My computer HP (NE504AV-ABA) d5200t has problems starting.

Whenever I try to restart it from a stop, it does not ask to restart
Windows in safe mode, and it always starts in a variety of safe mode that blocks
Use the Ethernet port or any other network devices. This safe mode also blocks
using the service Windows Installer 64 bit, so I can't install any program I
    wait for help with this.

How can I do return to start Windows in normal mode, without losing the
various files that I have accumulated over the years?

This is my last computer 64-bit Windows Vista SP2 and has a program that I need
that will not run on newer versions of Windows. No installation package for
    This program is available.

All my last 100 backups or while it is stored on a server HP disc that will be
is no longer boot, so these backups are EXTREMELY difficult to achieve.

This site does not allow copy / paste, so I had to insert the text file I had prepared as if it was the code.

It didn't work - the safe mode was not checked.  What finally fixed MOST of this problem said the startup procedure to use the last known good configuration.  Then, it took about four Windows restarts and correct the time system, to complete the fix.

During the problem computer is often not quite in safe mode, only confused as to whether she was in safe mode or not.  'Safe Mode' did not appear in the corners of the screen, but try installing the software gave error messages saying that the installation could not be done in mode safe.  Internet connections were usually blocked.  Switching to the alternative shell is cmd.exe, the only way to tell the computer what to do, and if there is a way back to the GUI, it was well hidden.

  • NB520: Start Windows 7 - How to start safe mode startup and uninstall failure

    Hello
I can't use it on my Windows 7 boot (Notebook NB520), the system uninstall the program to uninstall search.us.com - a virus/malware.

I searched the forums for help and tried to launch the program malwarebytes anti-malware, who reported the virus files and depending on the program, has removed the. However, I am still unable to uninstall search.us.com.

I found another tool ComboFix but this forces me to run Windows 7 start in "safe mode".

    I have 2 questions:
How to I invoke safe mode to start my laptop computer?
Someone successfully remove or uninstall search.us.com?

    Thanks in advance.
    Concerning
    Xue

AFAIK safe mode option is available if you open the advanced boot options, and you can do it if you use F8 at startup. Have you already tried?

Turn on your laptop and press F8 several times.
To be honest I put t have experience with this search.us.com but if you'll be able to start laptop in safe mode try roll back the OS a few days back to see if the problem persists.
It helped me solve a similar problem.

    Maybe it will help you.

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

2 when was the last time it was working fine?

    3. you receive an error message during the system check?

I suggest that you run the CHKDSK utility by using the installation CD of Windows XP, which checks the specified drive and repairs or recovers the drive if the drive requires it. The command also marks bad sectors and recovers readable information.

You will need to access the recovery console to run Chkdsk.

You can use the following options:

CHKDSK /p Performs a comprehensive check of the drive and corrects any errors.
CHKDSK /r Locates bad sectors and recovers readable information.
