  Since the migration to vista (did not notice the problem on xp) I find that dreamweaver 8 continues to lose my authentication recordset server behaviors and the user. I don't see a reason for this yet i.e. sometimes it keeps everything after exit/restart of DW and other times it just lost in the passage of the docs with the application still running.

  Recently, I upgraded my copy of Dreamweaver Dreamweaver CC. Now, I am trying to download WebAssist MySQLi server behaviors, their latest version for CC I have re-uploaded today. I also installed the latest version of Adobe Extension Manager CC. However, the installation fails with the message that the extension needs Dreamweaver 9 or a later version.

  I see that others have had problems with extensions and DW CC, but responses do not really help this problem.

  Adobe has decided to stop the extensions Manager, it no longer works, from 2015 CC and moving forward: Adobe Exchange

  You can always get EM that will work, DMXZone has a free one that seems to work fine with most third-party extensions.

  If you have PCOC 2015 (go to help > about Dreamweaver to check), you will need a third party EM.

• Dreamweaver does not save the password and FTP user

  Even if I check the option Save when you enter the FTP user id and password when I close dreamweaver cs4 and reopen it, I need to enter again. What preferences file controls this setting?   I had the same problem for months after re-installing CS4 Master Collection on Mac and just upgraded to CS5 and find the same thing before you come across the idea to do a repair of Keychain. This alone does not work, but after I had deleted manually everything to do with Adobe Keychain - same Macromedia, which was always there - I am relieved to say that DW is now working properly once again and not delete remote remote login/password. Oh, what happiness! I never found out why people say DW ftp is rubbish or use other applications for ftp is less hassle. I use anarchy (and others) as an alternative or for when I don't want to even open DW. I hope you have luck, too

  Thank you all. I finally discovered what the problem was. My ' link to ' was created at the root of the Document.

  For later use, to all those who may have this problem:

  1. Launch Dreamweaver.
  2. Click on "Site" in the top menu.
  3. Select "Manage Sites".
  4. In the 'Manage the Sites' box, select your local site folder. For example, my_new_site
  5. Click on change icon (it's the second icon on the button "Import Site").
  6. The site for my_new_site configuration (for example) is displayed. Now click on "Advanced settings".
  7. Search "link to:" in the options, select 'Site Root '.
  8. Click on 'Save' later, the box disappears.
  9. Click on 'Done'... and you're done!

  You don't need to restart your computer for the settings save constantly. But if that fell safe, Dreamweaver shut down and restart it. All links should display correctly.

  But it is worth mentioning that all of the links in the following format will have to be edited:

  /.../.../main.php

  Just rewrite the link paths not all scripts.

  If you bought it, you have the version under license.  You have not forever.

  And... apparently there is no way to contact Adobe about this. IT IS RIDICULOUS. It's one thing for a program to have a bug or at, but NOT to BE ABLE EVEN TO OPEN it. ARE THEY were NOT KIDDING?

  Adobe technical support seems to have been able to solve the problem. The biggest frustration was not that Dreamweaver does not open, but it was very difficult to find help to solve the problem.

  Go in Edition > Preferences, then click on "copy and paste" on the left. Tick the fourth option button that includes all formatting with styles.

  Remember, however, that it creates ugly source code. The best practice would be to stick as 'text only' and then apply your layout via CSS in Dreamweaver. If you're not affected by what's under the hood of your Web site, don't sweat it - stick away and be done with it.

  Dennis, as usual, is correct.  Please check if you have installed NI-VISA.  There is an article in the knowledge base on the way in which com ports are not in MAX unless NI-VISA is installed.  The link to this article is below.
