My color scheme changes in black and white, but preferences continue to it's normal color.

On computer start everything seems fine and in color until the login screen. Often there's color for a few moments, but before I'm even able to enter my password of connection the regime change in black and white and stays that way. Sometimes in re-opening a session, it goes through the same process, but the computer remains very rarely in color.

Nothing specific seems to have changed this problem started by chance and it worsened slowly more often remain black and white.

I don't know what I can do to sort this problem, thank you for your time.

Hello Acantor,

·         You have the latest drivers installed for your video card?

I suggest that you go to your computer manufactuers website and download the latest drivers for your video card.

See this article which will give you different options to upgrade the drivers:

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/the-hunt-for-drivers-how-to-find-Windows-Vista-drivers-for-all-your-hardware

If nothing works, try to uninstall and reinstall the graphics card.

========================

1. click on start. In the start search box type "devmgmt.msc", and then press ENTER.
2. expand "Graphics cards", double-click the entry to the display device.
3. click on the "Driver" tab, click "Uninstall".
4. click on start. In the start search box type "appwiz.cpl", and then press ENTER.
5 remove the related entries the display device.

Reinstall the driver with your driver CD.

Alternatively, you can try to uninstall the driver from Device Manager, then go to the computer or the device factory site download the latest driver for your network card and install it.

Thank you

Hello there ingridt, welcome to the Forums!

I noticed your post on the scans of your Photosmart 6510, scan to your system from Vista in black and white. I want to offer my suggestions to you to see if they can help you with this.

First of all, try to launch the HP print and Scan Doctor who is used to fix the printing and scanning problems. You choose the option "Scanning" when the tool is run. It will inform you if the software is completely installed, or if there is a problem, it can not correct. If it detects an error and shows you a red 'X', I suggest then uninstall and reinstall.

Here are some links to help with uninstalling and reinstalling if you happen to do these steps.

    1. uninstalling the printer software

    2. restart your PC

    3 reinstall: Photosmart HP 6510 e-All-in-One Printer - B211a

Try a scan now and let me know how make you out!

    Good luck!

I was able to recreate what you see.   I managed to work around it by installing a different driver that is also supposed to be compatible with the CLJ3600.

Please consider trying this as a possible solution:

    (1) uninstall the driver CLJ3600 by opening printers and fax machines, driver selection and right-click on it and select Delete.  Once it is removed, right-click on an empty space in the windows printers and faxes and select Server properties.  Click the driver tab, click the CLJ3600 and then click on remove.

One when you're done, restart, and then install the CLJ3500 driver.  This is a previous version of the driver that has been implemented for the CLJ3600 and is compatible with the CLJ3600.

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=315862&prodNameId=315867&swEnvOID=228&swLang=8&mode=2&TaskID=135&swItem=LJ-16838-3

    After installation, try printing again.

The output I have indicates it will print is more negative.  Please let me know if you have success.

One caveat about this solution.  The Color LaserJet 3500 doesn't support duplex.  Of workaround only works for two printing on the package of basic or the Color LaserJet 3600 N.

  • I need to change my black and white a PMS color chart

How can I do this? I made the graphic black and white so that the client could print any PMS color they wanted. The client is now asking me to provide a file that will sample in a few PMS colors and I don't know how to do this b & w print in a specific PMS color. I know of Hue/Saturation, but how do I get it to be exactly like the PMS color? Help!

You could have white selected as the ink for the two-color, or you might have a defined curve to kill all of the ink. Hold down the ALT key while in the Duotone box dialog and 'Cancel' should become 'reset '. Restore dialogue and set the ink by clicking on the black square.

  • I can't seem to change the black and white on my Lexmark printer.

At the same time, I changed my printer set default print black and white.  Then I would just change color when I need it to be.  Then I noticed that the check box for printing black and white has been checked and gray, so I couldn't change it.  I thought it was because I was really low on my color.  I now have a new color in this cartridge, but still it won't let me uncheck the box in black and white.  I tried to restart my computer but no change.  Help, please.

    I have a Lexmark 7600 series.

Check the settings of the printer itself to verify that it is not changed and there only in black and white (if there are all these settings on the printer)-which would probably override the settings on your computer.  BTW, what is the exact printer?  This is it: http://support.lexmark.com/index?page=answers&startover=y&question=lexmark+7600+series&locale=en&productCode=LEXMARK_X7675&segment=SUPPORT&userlocale=EN_US#1?  If not, what is it?

You can get in trouble with your device drivers, firmware and/or software.  Go to the Device Manager by going to start / find and type Device Manager and enter and then double-click on the program icon that appears.  Check each device to a red x, yellow! or white?  These identify devices with problems probably (drivers, but also of conflict or something else).  Click on each for more details and troubleshooting tips.  If you need to get the drivers (and you shouldget them to at least the printer (http://support.lexmark.com/index?page=content&productCode=LEXMARK_X7675&actp=PRODUCT&id=DR11032&segment=SUPPORT&userlocale=EN_US&locale=en (if I was just on the printer above and you are using 32-bit Vista) and all you have time to do - they can help way beyond simply solve this problem)) leave the computer dealer or the manufacturer of the device (NOT of Microsoft Updates).  In fact, you must disable automatic updates in Windows Update driver as follows: http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/how-to-disable-automatic-driver-installation-in-windows-vista/. Follow these steps to get the drivers: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/ht/driverdlmfgr.htm.  Once you have the drivers, you can install them via the Manager device as follows:http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-device-manager-install-driver.html. You can also try the Driver Verifier Manager to see if you can identify the driver or the responsible device (assuming that it is the cause):http://support.microsoft.com/kb/244617.

Also, check the color cartridge belt moves freely and not get stuck on one side or the other - if the belt does not move, the printer can turn off the option.

Remove the printer from the computer (I do not mean the drivers or software - I mean the configuration in the control panel).  Create a new printer in the start menu / control panel / printers section. Click on add a printer and start from scratch.  Then see if the new connection/configuration of printer works better than the old.

If this does not work, then contact Support technique Lexmarkhttp://www1.lexmark.com/content/en_us/about_us/contact_us.shtml and see if they can help you because I don't think it would be a problem of Vista if you have reinstalled everything.  It may be a problem with the installation but it can also be a hardware problem - so be it, they should be able to help.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Beginner - I opened a file HAVE, it's in black and white, but in print preview mode, it seems normal. What should I do to fix this?

I just open a .ai to a colleague, and the black and white image below is what I see in design mode. Although, when I go to preview before printing, it looks exactly as it should. Please tell us in terms of can, if possible, as I am a beginner. Not sure if this is a setting error or what.

  • How to change from black and white to color

I forgot how to go back to color printing. When I go into the Advanced preferences I don't know what to click. That's what I should do or there at - there a simpler way?

No, it's not a color Btn

Unless you specify the actual HP model (there are many Photosmart printers) nobody can tell which option you will need to change.

In general terms with any program that you want to print from is open, you select file > print, who must then show your HP printer as the chosen device, you then edit/change the printer properties

  • I changed my black and white photo.

Picture is now black & white.  Is there a way to change the parts of the picture in colour?

You can do a number of things here. Import the original image as a second layer, or vice versa. If you use the original as the background and place the B & W image as a layer, you can then use the tool eraser to bring back the color on the top from the back ground image. When you are satisfied with the result, just flatten image and save it under a new title. In this way there is no error of fact because you know what you want from the original image.

    Hello jkaminky

When you press on copy and go to the settings adjust you the lighter/Darker? Also are you running the latest firmware? What operating system do you use?

    Travis,

Yes, the printer was up to date in its fireware. I am running Win 7 Pro (64), but the problem resurfaced surface during a copy operation only one position from the table of the printer. I advanced the lighter/Darker the maximum setting and it helped, but not as 'Normal' of origin. If I chose a copy in color at the keyboard, a B & W document came out excellent. My troubleshooting reveled that the problem wasn't actually in the scaning aspects of printing of the operation.

I made a number of steps with scaning of troubleshooting. I carried out all them from the table and sent output to a flash drive on the printer. I wanted to keep the remote computer. Even from the keyboard on the preview screen, I could see the very light scans of B & W, I did a number of quality adjustments to their levels of maxminum with an improvement, but not quite to its previous level of quality.

I was ready to leave when he came for me to restart the printer. I turned it off and unplug the power cord. After a short wait, I reconnected the power and the printer. He was back to his old self well with everything that normal value. It's now a happy printer with a happy owner.

Thanks for the reply. Take this into account if another comes with a problem on the copies where the copies n & B are very low, but color copies are very good.

    Thanks again.

  • HP8600 how to change the default to print/fax in color black and white - on a Mac OS 10.9

I use MS 7 and have the same problem.  Older printers enabled you to change the color and the paper size on the fly.   I love b & w most of the time, but sometimes want to color.  Now, I can not find how to switch between.  Cannot HP fix the software to include simple things like the paper of the color/size changes (and also the envelope D * on the 8600 is absolutely ridiculous) as a loyal user of HP in the past, I won't buy another HP unless it changes!  These developers do not use the printer on a daily basis or consult a person who?

  • Photosmart HP 6520 - print in color, not black and white

I have had this printer for some time and configure options so that it used only the black cartridge unless I put it specifically to do otherwise when I wanted to color.  It worked well and I could switch between black and white and color very easily.  A few weeks ago, the printer started to ignore the options I would set and printed in color.  I double checked the parameters, and the printer is always set up for black and white, but now it completely ignores and still print in color.

I tried the settings at the time of printing, and that indicates that the image in black and white, it still prints in color.

I haven't added any software or made any changes to my pc.

Can someone help me with this, please?

Hi Lulu and thank you for the reply!

I suggest to download and run the HP print and Scan doctor.  Once you have run the tool successfully, try again the configuration in black and white.

Please let me know the results.

  • printing color when you ask only black and white

On my Deskjet 6500 all in one, I select black and white only when I print web pages, but it still prints in color.  The screen it displays in black and white, but on paper, it has color.  I use Google Chrome and maybe that's the problem, but I have no idea.

    jvias,

You try to print in black and white all the time?

If so, when you mention the screen to print in Google Chrome, down inside your should see 'print by using the system dialog box... '. (Ctrl + Shift + P) ». What to choose.

When the next screen appears, make sure that your printer is selected and press the button "Preferences".

On the next screen, it should open in the tab "layout". Then, press the 'Advanced' button and you will see an option there "print in grayscale". She should be currently disabled, but if you turn it on, it should print in black only.

On the other hand, it sounds like it could be a problem with Google Chrome. Have you tried it in another browser and got the same result?
