HP Pavilion a306x Desktop PC product specifications

As a grandfather myself, I can understand your desire to see your grandchildren.  Skype is a great way to do it.  Here's system requirements to successfully run Skype.  Check to make sure the OS is XP, Service Pack 3.  If this isn't the case, it may not work.

If you want to add memory, it is preferable to add any new memory.  Otherwise, it would be not compatible.  This is recommended by Crucial memory .  I would buy 2 GB (2 x 1 GB) of the same memory.  If Crucial recommends, it is guaranteed to work.  Crucial memory is used in many new HP computers.

Here is a video card that will add some performances, as well.  Read the reviews to see what users have to say about it.

Rather than adding a new internal hard drive, I would like to add an external USB (500 GB) disk for storage.  It would be much easier and you have your girl buy when she makes to the computer.  I like the Western Digital drives.

I didn't want to sound negative in my first post, I simply do not like to see the members to spend money unnecessarily.  In your case, it's for a good cause.  I understand perfectly.  The computer is not a flamboyant, but it will do what you need.

  • I got a new computer (an old dies) new a windows vista and I have to disable the old computer before I load the same copy of Vista on my new computer. If yes how can I do this?

I got a new computer (an old dies) new a windows vista and I have to disable the old computer before I load the same copy of Vista on my new computer.  If yes how can I do this?

If Vista is preinstalled on your OLD computer, it is classified as an OEM license and is not transferable.

The license of Vista OEM is related to the original computer it is installed on and dies with the computer.
You cannot transfer it to another computer/laptop

If a license of Vista at retail, you can transfer it to another computer/laptop.
But it can only be installed on one computer at a time.

A single license is a single Installation.

If it is a retail Vista license, read the information on the clean install and then reactivate it:

  • This computer is old; How can I stop messages from "update of the plugin"?

This computer is running Mac OS 10.4.11 on a Power PC chip. I get a small window at the top of the screen that says: "some plugins used by this page are out of date. The problem is that this old computer won't accept any of the proposed new plugins (Flash, QuickTime, Java, etc.). How can I stop the message from popping up?

Enter ' subject: config "in the address bar of the browser, confirm the information dialog box, then find the preference named"plugins.hide_infobar_for_outdated_plugin"and double click it to switch to 'true '.

Please note that firefox won't also support architecture ppc any longer, however if you want to use an updated firefox-based browser, you can switch to "tenfourfox" - Firefox no longer works with the processors in Mac OS X 10.4 or PowerPC

  • My computer is old and I am poor. Not enough ram for new ff! What can I do?

Hello. I have windows xp, a very old hand e-machines computer and only 368 MB of RAM and a processor intel of 3.33 GHz. Even on this very old version of firefox, I get a lot of error messages and crashes. I had a newer version but had to come back to this one, because there are too many bugs!

Now I get messages that my version (3.6.8)will soon be unsupported and have no security. I am very poor; I have no money to buy a new computer with all the latest bells and whistles just so that firefox will work: 1 gig of ram is Not gonna happen on THIS computer. SO... what do you suggest we poor folks do?

I liked firefox for years, but it seems to take place in the direction of Microsoft went: bulky, heavy programs, tons of software needed alongside more memory, tons of things, we don't want TO not but should have anyway. I guess that if you do not have terrabites now, you're not cool. This saddens me and excludes a large number of us who are poor.

It comes to my feedback and a call for help. I hope you ask my questions and tell me what version of Firefox, I can go to that will be supported for more than what I currently have. Firefox keeps getting slower and slower, the more is invented. I use it mainly for youtube videos, email and search and watch the other vids, I can barely do at home is no longer. I don't want to go, but if I have no choice. I also wish a lighter application that is very light on my limited resources. I have a lot; just a search bar; don't need even toolbars, other applications like google. Is this possible. even if I've had enough of everything for firefox 8 (which I did not)?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Do a cleaning (re) install and delete the folder of the program Firefox (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).

Download a new copy of Firefox and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current version of Firefox if possible.

    • Do NOT remove the data of a personal nature when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.

Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

    • It is important to remove the Firefox program folder to delete all the files and make sure that there is no problem with the files that were the remains after uninstallation.

Your bookmarks and other profile data stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a relocation, but make sure that you do not select delete data of a personal nature if you uninstall Firefox.

  • Transfer of files from computer died old

I made a backup of my system and documents on my old computer running Windows XP on an external hard drive. The XP computer broke down (it's why I have this new HP with Windows 7. How can I transfer the files from the external hard drive to my new RESUME? Unfortunately, I'm unable to install Windows Easy Transfer on my computer disappeared. Since the backup was made using a XP system, is it possible?

The link I posted above is for Windows 7 32 bit. I guess you have 64-bit that comes on most of the new machines. Click on the link below:

  • transfer files from your old computer, use old hard drive?

I just buy new desktop HP Pavilion p6-2120.  I need to transfer files, programs, etc from my 6 year old Dell desktop computer.  I know that I can use the program of transfer of Windows 7 with USB key, easy transfer cable, or external hard drive to move the files.

As can another method of transfer, I take the old hard drive from the Dell desktop computer & install in the new HP Pavilion?  Is the old hard drive (ATX 80 GB, 7200 RPM, DIM2, XPS2) compatible with the new HP where it will work again?

Since I am not transfer that much is the best for any purchase a Windows 7 transfer cable?

    mikesimms,

Your theory is correct. If you want that all settings, email, documents, photos, music, and other data files, use either the program Windows Easy Transfer. It will accept an external device or use the easy transfer cable.

If you want only the documents, photos, music, and other data files , then you could add the XP disk to the system (temporarily use the p6-2120 DVD player wiring). You can copy files to the new folders.

  • How to install CS3 on new computer when old computer crashed? Always have the serial number.

    Hello, all,.

I work for a small non-profit and we have several licenses Adobe. Most of our computers run CS6, but we have several very old computers running CS3. I used one of those old computers, until recently, when the computer gave the soul. It was nearly 10 years, no surprise. It would be extremely useful for me if I could reinstall Photoshop and InDesign on my new computer. I understand that I would need to run Java Legacy software to use CS3 and it's not a problem.

I still have the license key for the software. To be clear, we had Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Standard installed on the computer, kaput. It's a Mac and my new computer is a Mac. I am interested to reinstall Photoshop and InDesign. I do not have access to the original installation media - I guess it was a CD. For what it's worth, I took this job about 3 years ago, and these licenses have been purchased probably 6 years ago. My predecessor fact not held very tidy or thorough records and I have no way of knowing is it part products.

Because the computer is fried, this mean that I am unable to disable the license key and therefore never reuse this license? Is it possible to get the installation media for Creative Suite 3 Design Standard?

Just FYI, we buy a subscription to CC and is a great solution, but I would really like to savage this license if it is possible. I am grateful for all the advice!

    Thank you!

  • New computer, uninstall old?

I get a new hard drive today and I want to know how to go about that, uninstall the old and the new?

    Hello

I see you have a subscription to creative cloud under the same email that you use with the forums.

You can have the creative cloud installed and signed in on two computers as long as you don't use it on one at a time. Download and install as you did on the first computer, sign in to your Adobe account on the Adobe using your Adobe ID website, download the desktop app from clouds, then download the software. Sign on a computer that should not be used: log in and log out of the desktop Adobe Creative Cloud application

You can download the installer for Creative Cloud from here:
Using creative cloud | Creative cloud to desktop

    Hope this Helps!

  • New computer and old editions

    All,

I'm sure I don't am not the only one to ask something like that, but since I have this has messed up on my first attempt, I thought I would just post it here. I have a new Macbook Pro I used for six months. Previously, all my editing has been done on my older iMac with Lightroom 4. I've always used an external hard drive as part of my workflow, so all my RAW files are located on the external drive. Naturally, when I connect it external drive to my new Macbook Pro I can see my RAW files, and of course I can import into Lightroom 5 (I have a subscription of CC). So, how can I transfer my changes to my Lightroom 4 old iMac running for my Macbook Pro running Lightroom 5

I think it's a matter of 'library', but when I tried to transfer my library I really messed up things (thankfully I was smart enough to make a contingency plan before I attempt to move the library)

In advance, thank you for any assistance.

    Marc

You want to use Lightroom 5 to open your catalog in Lightroom 4. 5 Lightroom will recognize that the catalog needs to be updated and will create a new catalog in the proper format. All the adjustments you have made using Lightroom 4 will still be intact in the new catalog, Lightroom 5. The old catalog will remain unchanged so that you can use with Lightroom 4 If you have installed on your computer.
