My computer is saying that my copy of Windows 7 is not genuine. Use the product key from the old system and the other of Belarc advisor

Original title : My computer says my copy of Windows 7 is not genuine. Help?
I got Windows 7 before on my old computer, but I made a new and tried to use the same code and its saying my copy of Windows 7 is not genuine and my only options are to buy a new one, but I can't do it, and I don't see why I should.

-J' used Belarc Advisor and key code, it shows me as worth.

Windows product ID: 00371-OEM-8992671-00524
Windows product ID type: 2
Windows license Type: OEM SLP

Your windows is only valid on the computer, it was originally installed on. It cannot be transferred.
You can buy a full windows installation on your motherboard retail retail.
EDIT: added more information.

) SLP OEM: this key comes pre-installed in Windows, when it comes to the factory. This key is designed to work with the special instructions isn't on the hardware of this manufacturer. Then, when Windows was installed using the OEM SLP (in factory) Windows 7 key leans on the motherboard and he sees special instructions and activates. (that's why you had no need to turn on your computer after you brought it home)

Run a full scan of CHKDSK and SFC...

Click Start > all programs > Accessories

Right-click on the entry of the command line

Select run as administrator and accept the UAC - elevated command prompt window prompt should appear.

    At the command prompt, type

    CHKDSK C: /R

    and press the Enter key.

We'll tell you that the disc is locked,

and the CHKDSK will run the next time he started - press Y, press ENTER, and then restart.

The CHKDSK command will take a few hours depending on the size of the disk, so be patient!

Once executed, the command CHKDSK Windows should start normally (possibly after a second auto).

    Then, run the SFC.

SFC - SFC System - Instructions

Click Start > all programs > Accessories

Right-click on the entry of the command line

Select run as administrator and accept the UAC - elevated command prompt window prompt should appear.

    At the command prompt, type

    SFC/SCANNOW

    and press the Enter key

Wait for that analysis at the end - make a note of any error messages - and then restart.

Post a new MGADiag report with details of any error messages encountered.

  • After 4 years of use my computer without any problems at all, I get a message saying that my copy of Windows Vista is NOT activated.

    Original title: Vista Activation issue

After 4 years of use my computer without any problems at all, I get a message saying that my copy of Windows Vista is NOT activated.

Of course, he was and has been deleted now tile view! I made no changes to anything on the computer, so I did a little research

and found that it could be a virus trying to get 'paid' for a new activation code. I did a complete reinstall of Vista to remove

such viruses or errors and it still say my copy of Vista is not activated. When I try to follow the steps to activate Vista,

I got nowhere! Everything I've read say s do the activation of the phone, but my computer doesn't give me the option of phone!

It gives me only 3 options - "Buy a new online product key", "Enter a different product key", "Contact Hewllet Packard to help solve this problem."

I called HP and of course my warranty has expired and they even want to talk to me about $100! I'm going crazy trying to figure this out! Help someone?

Thanks for the reply, but I tried ALL the links you've posted over and over again until I've already posted my question here! The links you suggested sent me round in circles! They say all "choose the Activate by phone option" but I was not getting the phone option on my computer for some reason any.

I have corrected the problem and HERE IS HOW - 1-800-Microsoft

It was as simple as that! Now, if only they post this number somewhere here on the site it might save people hours or days of research! After calling the number, work your way through the automated system until you get a man! The guys at Microsoft that answered the phone was great and had activated me and up and running in minutes!

  • I started Windows 7 Windows 10 and told me that my copy of Windows 7 is not genuine.

    * Original title: Windows 10-7

I ran Windows 7 for 2 years without any problem. I have upgraded to Windows 10 but he could not recognize my CD/DVD burner, so I started Windows 7. Now, after about 6 weeks, I am told that my copy of Windows 7 is not genuine. Does anyone else have this problem?

Thanks to everyone who responded with helpful advice. I finally solved myself by going back to the shop that originally installed Win7 on my computer. They have removed the "non-genuine" copy that I had run without problem for 2 years and installed a copy of 'authentic '.

    Thanks again.

I have a XP and in the corner of my bar is a blue star a message appears on Mircosoft software thisGenuine and I do not know is true or false and I want this message to stop poping up when im here. Can I stop this?

    Hello

This isn't false or any form of malware. This is part of Windows Genuine Advantage, a program by Microsoft to prevent piracy of Windows and bring benefits to those who use properly licensed copies of Windows.

To make it disappear, click it and follow the instructions to validate Windows.

For more information, see http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/genuine , the portal of information about the Genuine Windows software and its features and benefits.

  • I have a message in the lower corner of my screen saying that my copy of windows is not genuine.

    * Original title: product key issue

I have received a more laptop from a friend and wanted to return to factory settings, because he didn't have the necessary disks, I contacted officials of the laptop with the brand and the model that took place in the origin of vista.  They sent me back discs for windows 7 with a product key, but when I installed it I learned the product key is temporary and would not work. Because the laptop is older, the product key on the back of the laptop is now unreadable.  I now have a message in the lower corner of my screen saying that my copy of windows is not genuine.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

If it's a temporary product key, your only option is to buy a genuine full license.

You can find software OEM System Builder of dozens of online merchants. The current price for OEM Windows 7 Professional Newegg, for example, is $ 140. When I checked a few minutes ago, Amazon offered packages OEM Windows 7 Professional from several vendors at prices ranging from $ 101 to $ 150. When I checked earlier, a package specifically designed for reconditioned PCs cost only $ 50 for a 64-bit copy.

There is no technical limitation to prevent you from using OEM software on your computer, although this software only works for a clean install, not an upgrade. In the past, Microsoft has been remarkably inconsistent in his advice to clients on the question of whether this practice is allowed. (See "is allowed to use Windows OEM on your own PC? Don't ask Microsoft. »)

Please run the Microsoft Genuine Diagnostics Tool then copy and paste the results into an answer here for further analysis:

    Retry the upgrade manually:

    Option 1:

    Download the media creation tool

Click with the right button on the MediaCreationTool.exe file and then click on run as administrator.

Note: How to check if you are downloaded or installed the update Windows 10 November

    Option 2:

    Task of pre-required

When you make significant changes to your computer for example updated operating system, you must always back up. See the links to resources on the backup by clicking the link for each version of Windows you are using: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1

    then

    • Turn off (preferably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before you perform the upgrade.
    • Reboot several times, and then try again.
    • Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader).
    • If you are using a SCSI drive, make sure you have the drivers available for your storage on a thumdrive device and it is connected. During the installation of Windows 10, click on the advanced custom Option and use the command load driver to load the driver for the SCSI drive. If this does not work and the installer still fails, consider switching to an IDE based hard drive.
    • Perform a clean boot, restart, and then try again.
    • If you upgrade to the. ISO file, disconnect from the Internet during the installation, if you are connected in LAN (Ethernet) or wireless, disable both, then try to install.
    • If you are updated through Windows Update, when download reaches 100% disconnect from the LAN (Ethernet) Internet or Wi - Fi, then proceed with the installation.
    • If this does not work, try using the. ISO file to upgrade if possible.
    • If you are connected to a domain, go to a local account.
    • If you have an external equipment, attached to the machine, unplug them (example, game controllers, USB sticks, external hard drive, printers, peripherals not essential).
  • My Windows 7 is now saying that my copy of Windows is not genuine.

I bought Windows 7 at Newegg in May.  I woke up this morning and found that my computer was restarted.  Not much, I assumed that he had executed the updates.  During his connection, I get a message that this copy of windows is not genuine.

I followed the guests, download the WindowsActivationUpdate.exe and he said validation failed and directs me to purchase a Windows license

Were there an update which pushed the Windows validation?  Is there a solution? I'm not spending $100 + to re-enable some thing that I've already spent $100 + on 3 months ago

original title: this copy of Windows is not genuine

Based on the report you posted, you have a genuine copy of Windows 7 Home Premium.

The reason why we get such message is because your copy of Windows 7 has not been activated. For activate us your copy, please click on start, then on the search box, type in 'enable '.

After that please choose activate using phone. If in case you would not be able to see such option and then online activation test if it fails, it would display activate using phone.

  • My old PC of eight year THAT XP came with the message that says that my copy of Windows must be activated.

My system is 8 years old XP. I installed all the updates that are offered by Microsoft. No new material has been added since more than a year. I now get a message telling me that my copy of Windows must be activated. This happens in normal Mode and safe mode with networking. Is this a ransom trojan or MS did wobbly in the updates as Genuine MS debacle (DIS) advantages of the other? The Messages I have 3 days where activation!

Your tips for solving this would be appreciated.

    Dear Noel

Thanks a lot for your information and advice.

Ironically, I did not clean ups for fear of screwing it up.  However, I just bought a helmet camera and plugged into the USB to test its audio and video capabilities.  Perhaps that may be the problem.  Next time I'll just use the SD card reader.

I right click on the Hydroforme icon which has been remember to activate.  Who took me through various routines that finally pointed out that the version of Windows I have is no longer for sale.  He then offered to sell me a current equivalent of Windows 7.  Unwilling to part with the money right away, I did a reboot and followed by the option activate who came.  It's very simple and work very well without fees.

So, I'm now a "happy bunny".  Thanks a lot for your quick help.  Very much appreciated.

  • MS thinks that my version of Windows 7 is not genuine

    Hello - two questions:

    Question n ° 1

I use an old computer that came preloaded with Windows (don't remember version).  At one point, I had a problem and by the contract of service, that I bought, a tech person came to do a fresh install of Windows on my computer.  He installed Windows 7 Pro 64 (only gives me a key code) and my problem was solved. Except that, since then, whenever I boot, I get an error message indicating that my version of Windows is not genuine.  I close the window and go on w / my work.

So far, I want to buy and install Windows 10.

From my research, MS recommends upgrade Windows 7 to the latest version before you install Windows 10, but of course I can't do that, since MS reads my Windows 7 as not being not not authentic.

    Question n ° 2

I would buy Windows 10 and be able to install it not only on my 'old' office, but also on many laptops, we have at home.  I know that the office is sold on a 'per computer' basis, but is this also the case with Windows 10?  In other words, if I buy the product (on the media, not through download), I'll be able to do an installation of several computer?  These laptops are now running Windows 7.

A big thank you to all who can offer help.

    God bless you!

    ~ Anais

It's unfortunate, but it seems you missed the bus. Until the end of July 2016 you could buy a copy of Windows 10 to replace the non-genuine version on your desktop. You could have improved your other PCs for free. This offer has now expired, and you need to buy a copy for each PC. Because Windows 7 is fully supported until January 2020, you might consider to leave things as they are. Windows 7 is a very good and stable operating system.

In the future, make sure you get a valid product key when getting a new product installed. It is not acceptable to tolerate the persistent error messages.

  • After upgrades of hardware, XP says that this copy of windows is not activated

When I start the computer, I get a message that says that the product is not registered.  I have had several problems with my computer and required updates of many facilities.  I have the disk of windows XP Professional with the product key.  When I try to activate the product, it is said that his already in service.  It does not need to activate the product when you go to the System Tools menu by following the instructions.  This can be corrected?

    Hello
