Hello

Which may be a sign that malware has been somehow installed on your computer, if you have problems using and update your security programs.

Scan of Malware in Safe Mode with network.

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/how-to-start-Windows-in-safe-mode/#winxo

Windows XP

Using the F8 method:

  1. Restart your computer.
  2. When the machine starts first, yet once it will list usually some equipment that is installed on your machine, amount of memory, hard drives installed etc. At this point you should tap the F8 key repeatedly until you are presented with a menu of Advanced Options in Windows XP.
  3. Select the Safe Mode with networking option using the arrow keys.
  4. Then press enter on your keyboard to boot mode safe mode with networking.
  5. Make all the necessary tasks and when finished restart to start in normal mode.

Once in Safe Mode with network, download and run RKill.

RKill does NOT remove the malware; It stops the Malware process that gives you a chance to remove it with your security programs.

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/

Then, download, install, update and scan your system with the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware in Mode safe mode with networking:

So I'm trying to save my dad's computer (and its files + settings) after that he was struck with a variety of bad guys: Alureon, FakeSysDef, Blacole, Gen-Nullo, difficulty system, etc..

Has finally got the office programs and files back after the entire MBAM, TDSSKiller, SuperAntiSpyware, etc., of jazz, but STILL not get things all the way back to the normal and good scans with MSSE, MBAM and MS Security Scanner are clean, I am afraid that the computer is always infested with something or the other...  (mainly due to my inability to use / access Windows Update: receive the 0x800A0046 error code AND get it published (feat of Java Blacole) out of a Flash drive, I used my system between the two machines... stupid, I know)

so, here are the details: Dell XPS: Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, Service Pack 3: seems to have been hit in early November that there is no fixes/updates after 11/14 or more.

I told him years not to run multiple antivirus + spyware programs at the same time, but he ignored me consistently.  I have since completely uninstalled Norton (using their removal tool on a newly created user account, as I couldn't make it work on sound - both are admin ETCA) and Webroot and installed MSSE.  At one point he swindled with system security 2011 and from there installed PC Fix, difficulty system and any other fake antivirus, it can click.  When the first infestation (before everything went to sh * t) I was takled him thanks to a restoration system and scan... About a week later, he ignored previous orders on not clicking or not to install anything without calling me everything first and got the rest of them (see list above).

This time, we could not access any program, web page, without failure, System Restore, its own user account, etc etc.  Somehow (with MBAM, TDSSKiller, etc) I entered the computer, installed process explorer, started the happy hunting and following 'view' & restore icons/programs/etc.  And yet we always face the dilemma of Windows Update, the loss of its sites Favorites/tabs, loss of / NO content in administrative tools (both through the control panel and Start Menu: file is empty when it is open) and inability to use the system restore.

I found this thread ( http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-windows_update/windows-update-not-working-ie8xphome-error/db7956c9-d77c-e011-9b4b-68b599b31bf5 ) in which the fellow was in THE SAME EXACT POSITION I'm NOW - for a tee - who said: "those who would be interested - this problem has been resolved by an engineer from climbing on the Team Support of Windows XP.  It was "Removing Group Policy" through a registry fix, "Reloading safety model" via several downloads and finally run a .bat file also downloaded. "So I guess I need help do the same.

Can someone help me or offer any other advice or assistance to get this sorted out?  Thank you in advance for anything you can do!

    Hi Mike,.

Yes, I tried all these steps without success...

    Buuuuut...

I ended up calling the Microsoft's Technet support, which helped me to identify two registry entries that the horde of virus/trojan/rootkit had created changed, that I had not already taken AND finished the download of some clever little program (difficulty WU Utility I think?) which allowed me to reset + reregister the BITs, cryptographic, & System Restore services...  That did the trick (although, as far as I know; dear ol ' pop reported no problems at the moment ;-))

Thank you Jeebus! Laughing out loud

  • My computer is infected with viruses and spyware.

    original title: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555175

My computer has met some spyware and the virius. So before installing Norton antivirius, the software says I should install the new system. Before I downloaded in my links, down right as I got internet protection displays as well as he kept posting it on my screne telling me that I needed to buy the product to save my computer crashing. I learned by a tech to STOPzilla which was my problem. From wright, that internet protection is now missing. Thank you very much, I hope it suits it.

I would recommend download you and install MSE from the link (see below) and run a full scan: http://www.microsoft.com/security/pc-security/mse.aspx

By clicking on the notification to install anti-virus software can only complicate and jeopardize things for your computer.

  • I have been connected to the internet (wireless), then I unplugged the router and now I can not connect to internet. I tried diagnose the problem, but he said that he could not.

I have a wireless internet connection for my laptop. I was connected to the internet, and it worked very well, so I had to unplug my router and all of a sudden I can't connect to the internet more. When I open the available networks, I hit connect on mine and he said: it does not work then I hit "diagnose the problem" and then, he says he can't. Also it is not even give me the option to set my password to connect to my network, but it does when I try to connect to any other.

I suggest to unplug all your network cables and unplug the adapter from your modem AND router. ONLY plug your modem back power adapter in. Wait until you get a steady green light on your router, which indicates that it is ready. Then, connect the ethernet cable from your modem to your router INTERNET port. Connect the ethernet cable from your computer to any other ETHERNET port on your router. Finally turn the monitor for your router.

If you do not do so in this order, the router can not connect properly to the internet because it doesn't have the correct IP address of your modem.

"Unable to download update files. Please check that you are connected to the Internet and check for updates later.

    Error: 1109 "

The computers are permanently connected to the internet, so why it does not work? I completely re-installed on a computer, but have the same problem. Help, please.

    Thank you.

    Hello

The possible reasons that you encounter the problem of internet connectivity is whether you are offline or your computer's clock is set incorrectly.

Check internet connectivity, if it is connected, able to disconnect once and they try to reconnect or you can set the clock on your system and try again.

This is a complete scam.  You can report it to your local police.

For your own protection, you should:
    • Change your passwords on email accounts, accounts financial and sensitive to which accounts you access online from this PC.  RIGHT NOW!
    • Run a full scan of your PC using your antivirus application...    Also download and run a full scan with Malwarebytes Anti-malware (free edition).  MBAM is a very good solution in addition to your primary backup antivirus/antimalware application.
    • I would also go here: https://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/Shared/Help.aspx and follow the advice of "I think that my PC is infected", including potentially calls MS help.
    • Above all, do not delay!  If you have any concerns about the handling of it, then disconnect your computer from the internet and call MS before anything else.

Once the software is installed, it will not be removed under normal circumstances.

I do not know if your computer is still infected and it is removed or the problem is that you can't 'see' photoshop' but it is always installed.

to verify this, check the installation directory and check its size on your hard drive.

    Hi Keith,

You won't be able to re - install using the discs and the number of series that you used initially, but we have a solution.

The activation for more server CS2 is no longer in service. For this reason, we did a version of these titles of software available that doesn't require activation. This is for users who already buy the software.  For more details and specific links for the software, please see the following link:

Activation server stops for Creative Suite 2 and Acrobat 7 product Macromedia

Instead of your old serial number, use the one shown next to the download link: download Acrobat 7 and CS2 products

  • Article about the virus and spywares

Article in Google News, take a look:

Just like the television commercials that preceded it, Internet banners are often very misleading.

A click on this friendly, flashing ad, your computer can be completely compromised by spyware, viruses and other malicious programs. These links are designed by marketing online groups that hire many different companies and are paid by the number of times that a person visits the site that pays for advertising.

Now, we all know that advertising is a necessary part of the company, the problem with the Internet today is that companies ad will use any means necessary to get more "hits" for as many different sites as possible. These programs hijacker can change your home page, redirect links and even change the page that you see that you view it.

Many of us have watched in horror as our favorite newsfeeds disintegrated in explicit pornographic advertising. Often this rude awakening has nothing to do with actually visited one of the sites Web announced, but rather their affiliates, the people who use the same company name.
