  A spontaneous stop that does not have Windows stop properly is usually initiated by the hardware of the system to prevent damage to the components. Usually, as 99% of the time, it is due to an overheating condition. Modern hardware system monitors this condition and automatically shut down the system if the temperature exceeds pre-set limits.   OK, I think I finally figured it by changing power options, and I think that the way you reset the battery also helped.

  Here are the parameters:

  reserve battery level (this is when the popup will appear).

  10%

  low battery (this is when the low battery action will be performed).

  8%

  critical battery level (my computer would die at this point.)

  7%

  low battery action: sleep, sleep (this customize to your liking).

  battery low notification: on (hold on).

  critical battery action: sleep, sleep (my computer died already in criticism.)

  Overheating, driver problems, and many others.  What are your having seen or heard before shutdown? It happens at any other time? Look in Event Viewer to see if you can see any represented pattern that would cause the stop.  Is this a full power off shutdown or a blocking of the screen or the BSOD?  Describe please.

  The graphics card and processor are more deeply in the unit. While the events may appear not necessarily immediate sings, there might be dust accumulate more in is not normally visible.   Only the "COMPUTER folder/bookmark is missing from my bookmarks bar. Every other bookmark from the toolbar is stable, as the toolbar itself. I know how to restore the Favorites, as I backup frequently. However, in the restoration, I won't lose a good number of changes, moves and respective additions of others bookmarks and their marked envelopes of a bookmark.

• Satellite Pro A200-PSAE4E - computer laptop shuts down randomly

  I've had my Satellite Pro A200-PSAE4E for about a year and a half now. He ran very well most of the time, but in recent months he has been stop itself randomly. There is no warning or "Windows is shutting down" he just me using my computer to a blank screen.

  After frustrated with her, I did a full format my HARD drive and started from scratch. This does not solve the problem, and since then, the taskbar freezes. When I click on it I get the error and the hourglass cursor message "Windows Explorer is not responding... "I then have to click"restart", which makes the taskbar disappear for a few seconds before returning (usually without my sound icon).

  The laptop turns off when it is connected to the electric network with & without the battery and when running only on battery, so I excluded all power problem.

  I have considered it heats up too, but I use a block of cooling with built-in fans and has not himself in a few minutes after being hit not 24 hours, so I'm not sure that's the problem.

  Someone at - it ideas?

  Update in Windows and connected to the Internet with a little time on your hands and knowledge.

  Open Internet Explorer, go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and do CUSTOM scan and determine what updates you need.  Install them.  Reset.  Repeat the visit, CUSTOM and see if updates (one of those that you just installed) back upwards.  Just list those here (KB #)...

• Computer automatically shuts down and restarts after 5 minutes run time

  Two days ago, restarted my computer, which worked very well for a few hours, (& a few years) suddenly automatically.   He then ran fine for about 4 hours when it restarts again.   He has now made that ~ 20 times, some time to restart after 5 minutes.   It also does if I connect on behalf of my wife, or if I boot in safe mode and log on as an administrator.   As much as I know I have no virus problem, but I can't be sure that it didn't stay on long enuf to run my antivirus program to the end.   Malwarebytes and Superantispyware both showed no problems two days ago, but now they also will not work I tried to backdate the system (System Restore) to last week, but failed, perhaps because I removed an old Norton SystemWorks program two days ago, when I got hurt, because I thought that maybe that's the problem.

  Is it a hardware problem or software?

  Now, I am trying get useful data on the device by frustrating bursts of 5 minutes.   Windows XP, service pack 3 with automatic updates.

  As a follow-up, I now declare that apparently the drive was packing with something irreplaceable on it grilled, so I'm ready for a new machine.
