  • Geocoding takes VERY long for the first call in each session

    Hello

We are moving to a system of very short response time where the user sends a query via mobile phone to our based Oracle server and the response THAT SMS must return a list of points of interest at a certain distance from the mobile phone.

Previously we were using Oracle 9i, now we went to 10g (EE 10.2.0.4.0). Given that 10g supports geocoding out of the box, we intend to use it. What we are experiencing, this is when we create a new session, and then the first geocoding/reverse_geocode call takes about 1 minute in our test environment (that means 100% CPU load on the side of Oracle Server), the following calls are in the [http://0.1.. 0.6] second intervals. We only use sdo_gcdr.reverse_geocode () and sdo_gcdr.geocode () procedures.

In a space book, we found:
+ "Note: the first call to a function of geolocation in a session requires several time (is longer) than subsequent calls." +
"+ Is because the function must load and analyze arrays of profile". +

Profile of tables do not change, why is he not analyzed at the start of the RDBMS and only once, not for each session?

    Is there a solution?

The patch that I suggest is precisely to allow the geocoder to work effectively in many countries. Its effect is to only load the profile for the country being geocoded. If profiles are loaded progressively as needed, avoiding the High overload at the beginning. With this patch, the first geocode a meeting is second.

The time you specify (a minute for the first geocoded in a session) clearly indicate a problem. If this problem is not with bad indexes on the table of the region, you can check the box caching (CACHED_ADMIN_AREA_LEVEL in GC_COUNTRY_PROFILE should be 0).

I think yiou need to capture a complete SQL trace of this first geocoded, so we can diagnose accurately what is happening.

    Hello

I have replace my SSD HARD drive (2 hard drives 120 GB each RAID 0) w / Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. After the replacement windows take longer time to activate the mouse and the keyboard - 5/10 seconds.
I've updated the drivers for the two, but still have the same question. The boot is faster, but the mouse and keyboard take longer to wake up.

    Any help?

    Thank you

Thanks for asking this question to Microsoft Community!

I understand that after the replacement of the hard disk of the computer takes too long to turn on the mouse and the keyboard.

Your Windows 7 is better suited in the TechNet forums. I suggest you to send your query there.

  • use marker iff section is too long for the header

    Hello everyone,

I wonder: is it possible to implement FrameMaker using a marker iff there is one on this page?

Here's the problem: I have a book with several chapters of different authors. Some of them used topics that are too long for the headers. For those I want to use markers.

I know how to display markers, which I don't want, because then I have to create a benchmark for each unique position in the book (using this master page). And I know how to view the different titles for example < $paratext [H1, H2, H3] >.

Now I'm looking for is something like this < [marker, line] $paratext >. In plain language: 'check if there is a certain marker. If there is one, show the marker, otherwise display the heading."

Then I would be able to use the same master page and would need to use markers only where a title is too long.

    Thanks in advance

    Dennis

    Dennis,

    Take a look at http://forums.adobe.com/message/3503638#3503638

You could create an alternative heading tag (for example InvisibleH1) with an invisible color in a framework anchored to it and can then use the building block <$paratext[InvisibleH1,H1,H2... etc.]="">. Just toggle the views appropriate to hide text in anchored frames.

  • Error message: "the file names would be too long for the destination folder.

I move the files from internal hard drive to external hard drive using cut and paste.  I get a message "the file name would be too long for the destination folder.  You can shorten the file name and try again, or try a location with a shorter path. "I then gives me choices to skip or cancel.  What happens to files that are ignored?  Are they deleted?  I don't want to lose all the data, but there are more 2 000 files with this problem, so passing by and rename each one really isn't a viable solution.  I don't really understand how the file names were originally created/saved about a problem that is only now that I want to move them.  The disc source and destination are NTFS.  Is there a solution for this?  It is imperative that no data is lost.  Thanks for any help you can offer.

N ° to check that what I say is correct, create a new folder
for the purposes of the trial and to make a copy of some files. To ensure that
one of them has a long name (rename if necessary), and then try to copy
These files on the external drive. When you get the message, choose
    'jump' and see what happens.

Dear Pascal, recently, by chance, I installed the client service for Netware on my PC. He asked to restart the computer, and after reboot, logon screens became classic. I uninstalled netware by accessing the properties of LAN. I managed to restore logon screens using Microsoft resources available on the net. However, my PC now takes * for long time for the desktop icons and toolbar are displayed. I use Microsoft Windows XP Version 2002 SP3, Intel Core2Duo processor P8600 @2.40 Ghz with 2 GB of RAM on Lenovo Thinkpad R400. If I understand correctly, you have some performance issues on windows XP computer.

Let us try the following steps:

Run the following fix - it to uninstall client services for Netware.

Solve problems with programs that cannot be installed or uninstalled:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/program_install_and_uninstall

Method 2: See the following article:

How to make a computer faster: 6 ways to speed up your PC:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/atwork/maintenance/speed.aspx#fBid=uQRRD6ZPxkC

    Important notes:

    ·         Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data can be lost.

    ·         The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.
