When you see a beachball cursor or the slowness is particularly bad, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.

These must be run as administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.

Run the Console application in one of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first letters of his name in a Spotlight search. Select from the results (it should be at the top).

☞ In the Finder, select go utilities ▹ of menu bar or press the combination of keys shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

The title of the Console window should be all Messages. If it isn't, select

SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ all Messages

in the list of logs on the left. If you don't see this list, select

List of newspapers seen ▹ display

in the menu at the top of the screen bar.

Each message in the journal begins with the date and time when it was entered. Highlight date back to the time you noted above.

Select the messages entered since then until the end of the episode, or until they begin to repeat, whichever comes first.

Copy messages to the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command + V.

The journal contains a large amount of information, almost all this is useless to solve any particular problem. When you post a journal excerpt, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.

Please don't dump blindly thousands of lines in the journal in this discussion.

Please do not post screenshots of log messages - text poster.

Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

When you post the journal excerpt, an error message may appear on the web page: "you include content in your post that is not allowed", or "the message contains invalid characters." It's a bug in the forum software. Thanks for posting the text on Pastebin, then post here a link to the page you created.

So, what operating system Mac are you on? You are not running an iMac on iOS.

The Apple store actually erase your entire hard drive or they just install the OS on top of what you have?

If you downloaded from any type of torrent/pirate bay Web site, there are some that will include a few unwanted songs (like bloatware/adware/malware) with their free software, especially if this software costs money elsewhere - for example, you might have installed something that will not be fixed by installation of operating system unless all of the hard disk will be deleted first. • El Capitan hangs on native sw (rotation beach ball)

    Hello everyone,

First time written here on the support forum. Hope to find someone to suggest me what to do or which, unfortunately, ran into my same question

A few weeks ago bought a new MacBokk Pro 13 "retina w / upgrade of RAM (i5 2.9 GHz, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD and OsX El Capitan ofc). I bought it online from Apple Store.

I noticed that every 5 or 6 hours of use whenever I try to launch a native application the system hangs (it turns forever beach ball multicolored cursor) and must be restarted. While suspended, the chassis becomes warm enough, and the fan made to scale up significantly...

The native software, I want to talk to are basic, such as reminders, Notes, or mail applications...

I am very annoyed, because this is a brand new MacBook and, as any Apple device, cost me an arm and a leg. I'm ok to pay if I get the quality that I was promised for good...

I forgot to mention: already tried resetting the SSD and the OS... No luck...

  • Constant beach ball since upgrade to El Capitan

    Hello

I use a middle of the retina 2014 MBP with 16 GB of ram and a 512 GB SSD, the machine would never cause me problems or failure until I updated to El Capitan.

Now I am constant beach balls gets when I use the machine, it is sometimes finder which crashes, or Safari, whenever the accident lasts 5-10 minutes until the BONE is still sensitive. I can switch between applications, but can't do anything with them, force quit does not work until after the accident.

I was hoping that I could go down with time machine, but my previous backups seem to have disappeared, so I only have the backups I've made since the update to El Capitan, so now my only options are to find the source of accidents or wipe my machine and do a clean install.

I hope someone can help me to get to the bottom of this issue. I tried to run in safe mode and everything works well, I tried to connect as a guest user but accidents still happen so it seems to be a problem with OS.

I ran EtreCheck and the results are below

    GET RID OF MACAFE!

  • After Effects CS5 beach ball

All this experience or be familiar with a cause/solution?

Work in After Effects CS5, I get a lot of "rotation range balls."

The cause? I do not know and can not guess.

Above all, it happens randomly when moving from a random item in the composition window.

'Pick up', try to move: No... beach ball! Wait up to a minute,... and work can continue.

The application crashes just completely but fortunately, most of the time, returns to his senses after about 30 seconds, sometimes a lot more.

I learned not to force quit them every time, because as said, it refers especially to normal after some time.

go to force quit now: this time, its been suspended for as long as I'm typing this...

It is of course totally driving crazy me...

    Kind regards

    Harold

Try disabling each OpenGL option and remove it completely from the loop. Also, what graphics card do you have?

  • Slow down the Sierra, grief beach ball

Initially, after the download of the Sierra, all was great. Now, the day and a half later, performance has significantly slowed down and a lot of rotation beach balls advance a little.

Avoid using any third-party cleaning software. Usually, this software does more harm than good. You don't need it. All computers become slower over time even in normal conditions of use. Experienced users erasing the hard drive and do a clean install from scratch, from time to time; or every time that the installation of a major update of the OS. Do means if you must maintain regular and several backups.

Add more RAM or reduce the number of simultaneously executed from applications and utilities. Delete unnecessary anti-malware software and any software that promises to clean your Mac. Look for the runaway process: Runaway applications can shorten the battery life, affect performance and increase the heat and fan activity. Also, visit The FAQ XLab and read the FAQ on the treatment with The Spinning Beach Ball of Death.

    The ultimate solution

Back up everything, wipe the drive, reinstall OS X and restore your data from backup. Reinstall the third-party software of original/zero media.

  • MacBook Pro (3-inches, mid-2012) suddenly started running very slowly; Beach balls very common

About a week and a half, it started running very slowly with the spinning beach balls popping up all the time.  This reminds me of how when I have too many tabs of the browser as in the past, but now, even with browsers had closed, open Word or Skype is really slow.  (I'm sorry for any confusing formulation; I'm not very computer customer connected, unfortunately!)

Some of the things I've tried so far and EtreCheck below):

    -safe mode

-detection of hardware problems (control + D)

    -reset the PRAM

-using the utility disc for repair/first care; also check

-wipe the hard drive and reinstalling original OS X Lion (was still slow with beach balls; I tried to install OS X El Capitan to see if that would help, but installation could not finish)

-wipe the hard drive and restarting from a backup previous (one month before the problems started)

Thank you in advance for your answers - I'm just at a loss for what could be the real problem!

You Mbps HARD drive is suspect.  Start the recovery (COMMAND-R) partition and select in menu 4 disk utility.  Run disk utility > first aid > repair.

Unrelated, but your battery has seen a lot of use.  I suggest to replace.

    Ciao.

  • Beach ball of death as well as by the slow performance of spinning glaciers

    Hi people,

I have been enduring the beach ball of death from a spinning some time now in the calculation of my daily life and I just can't take longer, as long as it happens little matter what I do on the Mac, and performance are slowed by the glaciers.

    It happens all the time.

I ran several ladies of virus, including clams and none of them came with something.

The problem came slowly over a long period of time. Now, however, the beach ball takes over whenever I'm on Mac to the point that I have to force quit, and then restart just to get anything done, and even then, it is not long until the ball is back and performance slows down again.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Please post a report of EtreCheckof your system. We then look for obvious problems. Please click on the link, download the application and run the report. Once you have the report, please copy and paste into your response to this post.

If you would like more information on what is EtreCheck, just click on the link and you will find a description of the application.

It is very possible that your problem much worse by installing antivirus on your computer applications. AV apps for Mac are useless, there is no virus for OS X. Most tend to create more problems than they solve so look for developers instructions to uninstall (s) installed and uninstall them.  Run the EtreCheck report after it has been uninstalled. OS X needs no antivirus, cleanup or ANY third party maintenance apps. If left alone and simply updated OS X will run well for most users for years!
