My desktop icons reset their positions to restart windows 7 64 bit

I try MicrosoftFixit.WinFileFolder and icon cache Rebuilder, it works: my desktop icons are restored, but when I reboot my desktop icons windows are reset to zero once again, I have to throw the fix for every time windows starts. If someone knows why?

Thank you and see you soon

    Hi John McAvoy,.

    (1) since when are you facing this problem?

    (2) you get an error message?

I want to clarify if this happens when you start Windows after logging in or before opening a session on windows.

Method 1: Disconnect all external devices (printers, scanner, USB (universal serial bus) readers, etc...) Except the mouse and keyboard > restart the computer and check

If this solves the problem, then add back devices at a time until you discover the piece of hardware causing the issue.  Then get any drivers\software update for the device.

  • How to reset the position of the window?

    Hello

After the operating system shutdown and detach my second monitor on my laptop some applications still visible on the monitor not present the next time I start up my laptop Win7Ultimate.

Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem and reset the position of the application window? (Except to return to the office and connect the monitor once again) This time, it's the application: KeePass Password Safe

    Thank you for your help

    Best regards

    Emeska

    Hi Emeska

Have you tried the applications back to the primary monitor and then close the applications from there before you detach the second monitor?

Sort might be to open the display settings and disabling the option of multiple monitors, before you detach the second monitor. As long as this option is enabled, you will always have that 'open space' on the edge of the main screen, to accommodate the second screen.

    I hope this helps.

Thank you for using Windows 7

    Hi all

I'm having this problem for a few months. The size of the icons on the desktop may be set to small. I had a setting in CUSTOMIZE > SHOW for children, but it not reduced the size of the icon on the desktop. Also, if I change the size of the icon on the desktop by ctrl + mouse wheel it comes down to grand after reboot.
Please help me solve this annoying problem. I tried to install the latest drivers as well but still the problem persists.
    Thank you

  • I have a HPw2207 monitor that does not work in the vertical position operating under Windows 7 64-bit.

I use a HP Pavilion p6-2033w PC. It was fine on XP. Any suggestions?

    Hello

I had no problem downloading the driver for monitor for my PC.  You should be able to download and save the driver from the monitor on your PC.  Then try the installation again.

Turn off your PC and try a reset monitor. Unplug the power cord from the monitor and hold the power button of the monitor for 30 to 60 seconds. Plug the monitor back in and it lights up.

After you download on the Windows desktop, right of the mouse on the desktop and select the resolution.  You should be able to select the desired screen orientation.

  • Icons not shown in CS4 under Windows 7 64-bit

I can't Photoshop icons to display pictures in Windows Explorer (Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, Photoshop CS4).  Anyone has any idea on this?  The 32-bit version worked well.

(Blue with PS logo on them) icons or thumbnails (small images of your file)?

In Photoshop 64 bit Preferences > file management, make sure thumbnails is checked.  Maximize PSD/PSB compatibility is set to "always".

Windows cannot display the PSD thumbnails by itself. You need a third-party codec.

  • How to lock the desktop icons in a multiple monitor configuration

Original title: lock the desktop icons - and display

Working with Windows 7 Home Premium has a problem processing 2 pieces: no matter how many times I said I want the display screen appears on the monitor, the screen of the computer, every day he arbitrarily returns to the computer screen only. That creates the 2nd problem: the desktop icons that I have arranged for the largest monitor rearrange themselves to adapt to the computer screen. Is there a way I can lock the icons in this position that I used to be able to do? Or is it possible that I can keep the display to go back to the computer screen? (I'm careful to apply the instructions to display before the specified seconds elapse).

    Hello

I suggest you to go through the steps mentioned in the link and the Coachman.

On a system running Microsoft Windows 7, the desktop icons can be moved to positions at random during another monitor main screen.

  • All my desktop icons disappeared

    Hello everyone.

I played just age of Empires 2 The Forgotten when it crashed. It worked well for 4-5 days, so I didn't think much, so I tried to play again, when it crashed once more. After that, I went to my program files in the C drive and deleted all the files saved there under the track where the game auto-tout saved. In any case, after that I had to restart the game, so I went to the office and only my 'computer' icon was there, everything else was not the case.

I use Windows 7 Ultimate, and tried methods such as 'see the desktop icons', 'folders', run a quick scan (which has highlighted some performance issues, but it was especially the deletion of junk files / cleaning of certain registry keys, I did).  Also, I restarted my PC right after seeing only 1 icon, which brought me back some of the desktop icons, I had. Usually restart before that always gave me all of my icon back. However, that time that is not now and I lost all my files saved in both the Office & the my part of documents.  This includes files that I had downloaded.  Please note that I went to CCleaner to check if the programs were still there (the icon removed those) and they seem to have gone quite as well.

I want to know what I can do to recover these files, because some of them are needed very soon.  Please help me. Thank you.

Note: Do not create a new data on your computer, because it can replace your hard drive and may interfere with the recovery of files.

The following hotfixes must be attempted in the order listed.

Check on the status of the file

First of all, go to C:\Users\USERNAME\Desktop , replacing C and username with the appropriate information.  If you see your files, they are not removed.

    Restart Explorer.exe

    1. Press CTRL + ALT + DELETE at the same time.
    2. Press start the Task Manager.
    3. Go to the processes tab and look to explorer.exe.
    4. Right-click and select end process.
    5. Then go to file (above) and select new task (run...) and type explorer.exe in the box.
    6. Press ENTER.

    Rebuild the icon Cache

    1. Show all hidden files (Folder Options).
    2. Go to \AppData\Local C:\Users\ (username)
    3. Search IconCache.db and delete (right click and press delete).
    4. Restart your computer.

    Checking system files

    1. Go to the start menu.
    2. Type cmd and click with the right button on the result.
    3. Select run as administrator.
    4. Type sfc/scannow and press ENTER.

    File recovery programs

    1. Plug in a USB key with the free space on your computer.
    2. Download a file recovery program (for example Recuva).

A bunch of files for Windows recovery programs can be found here: http://alternativeto.net/software/recuva/?platform=windows

    3. install the program file recovery.

    4. follow the on-screen instructions to get your files back.

5 SAVE YOUR RECOVERED ON a USB port FILES.

I hope this has helped you.  If this does not work, go to one of your backups.  If you don't have a backup, restore your computer to an earlier date before, this has happened.  This article has useful info: http://www.wikihow.com/Use-System-Restore-on-Windows-7
