my display settings keep returning on 2 screens at startup to the top

I have attached a second monitor to my Sony laptop.  The 2d display monitor used to iterate through a docking station Kensington DisplayLink.  For some reason, the docking station picks up is no longer display for the #2--si monitor I recently started to connect the monitor directly #2 on my laptop.  Now every time I disconnect the monitor #2 to try to use the laptop with the Moose #1 display attached - after startup, it comes in white.  I discovered the Dungeon of display settings back to the #2 monitor, as the main display with the office displays only on the monitor #2 - it's why my laptop screen is blank - unless I'm reconnect the 2d display whenever I start.  But it is not practical and the net effect is that until this has been resolved I can't use my laptop away from my office.  I keep resettingt the display settings in the control panel to a single monitor, but it keeps going back to 2.  What is the solution?

Hi, Msnsurf101,

Check your settings in the Bios

Procedures vary depending on the manufacturer of the BIOS. Usually, you must press a key (for example, F2, F12, DEL, ESC) or a key combination whenever you turn on your computer but before Windows starts. For more information, see the documentation provided with your computer or go to the website of the manufacturer of the computer.

Warning

Be careful when you change the BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it is possible to change a setting that can prevent your computer from starting properly.

  • InDesign CC crash with blue screen at startup to the top

    HY Forum!

    I just bought the full version of Adobe CC a few weeks ago. Adobe Audition/first/Media encode/Photoshop works very well. But if I want to run Adobe InDesign CC I instantly get a screen blue, followed by a restart of the automatic system. It happens every time after about one minute after the launch of the program, even when I do absolutely anything in InDesign and leave the portion of the mouse. It is a time-related system crash. According to me, InDesign tries to load something in the background, after commissioning and crashes more. But that's just a guess... I have attached a picture of the error massage and a screenshot of my system specs.

    Maybe someone can help here. As I said, the work of other programms all well.

  • Display settings keep Changing

    Continues to change my display settings to start. Specifically, it's the colors that change from 32 bit to 8 or 16 bits. Whenever I simply go to display settings, change the 32-bit color and all is well, but I am trying to determine what is the cause for the last number she is reset at startup. I have a Vista SP2 Core 2 Duo CPU. I don't know if this is has nothing do with it, but in the monitor display settings is set to 1. Generic PNP monitor on NVIDIA GeForce 8400 M GS, 1920 x 1200, 32-bit. There is also another 2. (By default the monitor) on NVIDIA GeForce 8400 M GS, but its resolution is 800 x 600 and is not Basel to change. Not sure if it matters that I am using the monitor 1. Also, while I've updated to the latest NVIDIA driver, the 1. Generic monitor, which is what I use, present in advanced settings / properties that the driver Date was 2008 and 2. (Default monitor) was 2010... and right now, I just went back to 1. and now the date changes from 2008 to 16/10/2010. What the hell, why the date of the fair driver update itself in those seconds of coming and going? What was the problem? Restart now to determine that. Will update.

    OK, think about it. It's Windows Live Messenger to Start Up - this program has been configured to run on 256 colors (8-bit which is). Unchecked "run in 256 colors" in the properties of Windows Live Messenger. The Compatibility tab, rebooted and all is fine, do not go back to 8 bits. Solved

  • Network discovery, file sharing settings keep changing by itself and Alltel to set the network location continues to ask the wireless device

    former title: network location settings. Discovery of NW. File sharing. public folder sharing. AVG 9.0 'tools' and network connections.

    My Alltel Wireless device again set the network location. And continues to change my network settings for the discovery of NW to:, as well as file sharing for: file public and sharing: read-only.  I have AVG Security 9.0 and under 'tools' and connections network shows several svchost with States reading service connections listening and unknown. I don't want no access to my computer and cannot find any computer consultants who can get this to stop. What can I do?

    Hello

    1. the options apply automatically on?
    2. have you made changes on the computer recently?
    3. have you installed any Alltel Wireless application to manage network connections?
    4. What is the current network location type on? Is it home, work or public?
    Network discovery and file sharing settings depend on the network location. For examle, if you set the network as a public location it turn on file sharing.  So I would ask you to turn all the parameters and then choose the type of network and check if the parameters change again.

    Method 1.
    I recommend you to check if the problem exists in clean boot. May be a third party application is causing these changes.
    See the article below for instructions on how to start your computer in a clean boot state.
    How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
    Note: When the diagnosis is complete, don't forget to reset your computer to normal startup. Follow step 7 in the above article.

    Method 2.
    Also check the settings under tools in AVG security suite. You may need to check with the help of AVG on it.
    Or you can disable the antivirus software and check if that causes this behavior.
    Temporarily disable the security software installed on the computer and check if the problem persists.
    Disable the anti-virus software
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software
    Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    I hope this helps.

  • HP Envy: a blue screen at startup, then the system shuts down its own

    When I turn on my computer, a blue screen appears and remains.  The boot sequence does not turn on and the computer shuts off after a minute or two.

    Hit the ESC key after that market puts me at the page 'option '.  'Advanced options', I tried "System Restore" and "Startup Repair" or solved the problem.  Failed to start in safe mode or change the boot settings because the sequence of starting (reboot) the system is broken.

    A hard system reset did not work and pushing the F2 key does not bring to the top of the page of diag sys.

    At this point, it seems that the only option on the left are trying to boot from a USB device or do a Reset from the PC (keep my files)?

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    It looks like you can have a hard/failed drive. If PC Reset is an option try it. If this does not work I would like to replace the hard drive and booting with recovery media to install Windows.

    I can tell you how to make bootable disks, but you already have a disk.

    He has changed since good means of XP repair install from disk by booting from it.

    I would add that info to disk Bootable repair, just in case your DVD is a factory of one computer.

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/88236-repair-install-Vista.html

    It's Vista only repair installation option these days.
    It must be switched on!
    Not much use, is it!

    Good luck with it.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Download the ISO on the provided link and do a repair of the disc.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    Above information shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.
    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
  • Open a Popup screen on startup of the Application
    I know this is probably an easy thing to do but I'm new on this and the command I use to open a pop-up window in the menu doesn't seem to work when I try to use it to open a when the application starts.  I put this command in several places in the screen method and the method of opening with no luck.  Is someone can you please tell me what I need to do
    UiApplication.getUiApplication () .pushScreen (new LicenseAgreementPopup());
    I finally I want to add a way to accept or reject the license agreement but will just simply get the popup to display when my application starts :-)
    Thank you
    Thanks, the key is the word "after" I put the order right after my main application screen has been pushed and it worked.  I knew it was something easy
    {
    String lv_continue;
    Public Shared Sub main (String [] args)
    {
    IdApp MapBack = new MapBack();
    idApp.enterEventDispatcher ();
  • HP w2338h screen shaded darker at the top of page 1/2 then lower 1/2
    Why the upper part of my HP w2338h no poster not look more dark and then the lower part. I tested this issue and it is definitely darker starting at about 50% upward. It seems to me see more in photoshop, but it's a matter of consistent with the display.
    If it is a voltage problem, how to fix it?
    Yes, it is out of warranty, although it is not far away. Thank you gawd melted that the screen isn't obvious to the point that it irritates. The only time where I opinion is really all in correcting color or changes and I move the picture from the bottom to the top, or visa versa. At first I thought it was an effect caused by looking directly forward on the screen. As I checked more far and done test was conducted in final screen has this change has been made. If I was a display technology and not a designer that uses the view as a tool, it would probably a better diagnosis, then what I gave. In any case, we will live with that I guess that until there are problems that are not acceptable.
    Thanks to all this repsonded, take into consideration this thread closed now.
  • Vista Home Prem (64-bit) - black screen with cursor in the top left
    Hello
    When I turn on the laptop, all I get is a black screen after screen of the bios at startup. Never done anywhere. He won't let me go in safe mode, it will not go to any login screen. I tried Startup Repair with Vista disc, and he says that it's been fixed, but still does not start. I've done it many times. I tried to let the part installation that moves the windows to the windows.old and creates a new copy of windows, and this did not fix it. I tried hitting CTRL-ALT-DEL in the black screen and this causing the laptop to reboot.
    If anyone has any ideas, maybe something, I may have missed. I tried almost everything people have posted here. I wouldn't completely re - install if I have to.
    Because it is a windows.old the re - install should be fixed if possible. Since then, there is not your
    the choices are a clean installation, which seems to work since the new installation of drive has done, or is a hard-
    problem of dishes with the old drive.
    Black screens are very difficult to manage. You can put the drive in another computer or in a
    external USB box and saving the data on removable media. Then put the reader in the
    computer and do a clean install.
    Now when I start my laptop replaced black screen toshiba logo and any key worked (F12, delete, escape)
    I called support and they told me that it is 70 euros for it. It's almost a flight!
    Otherwise I'll fix it in a store of this kind of question, and I will never buy another toshiba in my future.
    Thank you
    Hello
    Usually after the purchase of a new product, new owner should read paper textbooks s user initially. It is described that original preinstalled recovery image (original version of Windows) is saved on the HARD drive, and each new owner, before you start to do some experiments or install anything else should create recovery media. It can be DVD or USB, depending on the model of the machine.
    You created the recovery media?
    Very important, is that Toshiba does not support Linux, but in general, you can do with your machine all you want. No you don't have to use the version preinstalled Windows. Many people use Win7 or Linux on various models of Toshiba. Due to this Toshiba has created the separate category of Linux on this forum where you can exchange information and experience with other users of the forum.
    I must also say that you are mistaken if you think that Toshiba is blocking something. That s certainly wrong. When you stop preinstalled Win8 completely, you will be able to enter the BIOS settings and change the MODE to BOOT. After doing this, you can install anything you want.
    More info on what you can read on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2C03F80002R01.htm
    For more questions on Linux on Toshiba laptops I recommend you to visit category Linux SOFTWARE and OPERATING SYSTEM.
