Why my emails show as being sent twice?

From your post, I understand that you see a sent message twice in your sent folder on your Mac Mail application. It sounds like you have an IMAP email account, so I would like that you please follow the instructions to stop store sent messages on the server:
- Click mail in the menu bar, then select Preferences
- Click the tab accounts
- Select your e-mail account in the list on the left
- Click on the the mailbox behaviors tab to the right
- Uncheck the option for messages sent on the store server
After you turn off this option, you should notice duplicate emails disappear from the box sent.

Is it actually sent twice or you see just two copies in the "sent" folder? Some services, such as Gmail and outlook.com, messages to copy sent on sent, so you should uncheck "automatically place a copy in" under the tools/account settings /AccountName/Copies & records.

Have you lost your pane of folders on the left side of the screen?
Move your mouse on the left margin of the window and look for that to change in a double headed arrow. When he, left click, hold down and drag to the right to find the folders pane.

Sign in to your account to your e-mail email providers web page and check their spam folder.

All old emails show they are there, but there is no content when you try to open them.
right click on the folder, select Properties, and then on the button repair. A new index will be generated which can fix the issue or do the empty emails disappear because they are no longer available to be indexed.
BTW look in your anti virus program for files quarantined with names like Inbox

Open the "sent" folder on the account that you mailed to and look at the message that you sent it to see.

The Recovery Manager starts well. He correctly completed the following steps:
1 format HDD2. copy the files from the CD to the drive. It copies all the 3 CD.
Then he ask the driver (the 4th CD) CD. Once I have this CD, then after awhile I get messge below:

After that I see above meaage the only button I can click is "Finish". Once I click on finish, then in a minute, I get a message that "recovery completed successfully.

I called HP support and asked to run the hard drive and memory test and he succeeded.
I can install windows on another CD I have with.
But I can't install WIndows using the recovery CD, I received from HP. It's the 2nd CD series that I received these don't work or the other.
I have two identical laptops. Tried installing on both and having the same problem on both.

Here is another solution, you can try to see if you can get Windows 7 to install correctly.
Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).
An example of a COA label can be seen here.
You can create an installation disk yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( this must be the version exact same origin supplied with your laptop ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here. These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.
