My Favorites are missing.

Someday, my favorites have disappeared.  I got an error message saying: it wasn't available, or might have been moved.  I finally found them.  When I go to start in the start menu and do a search for Favorites I find them.  I want them back to the drop down on the toolbar.  Whenever I try to add something new that it does not work.  I don't want to have to go to the start menu and do a search for Favorites whenever I want to access my favorites.  Can someone help me please?  Thank you!

Hello

What antivirus/antispyware/security products do you have on the machine? Be one you have NEVER on it
machines, including those that you have uninstalled (they leave leftovers behind which emits strange causes).

Try these to erase corruption 1.

Start - type this in the search box-> find COMMAND at the top and RIGHT CLICK – RUN AS ADMIN

Seems you have something interfere with IE. not necessarily malware just something not
work right.

Start - all programs - Accessores - system tools - IE with no Addons - does this work better?

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - tab click on restore, and then click Reset - apply / OK

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Security tab - click on reset all default areas - apply / Ok

Close and restart IE or IE with no addons

not better?

IE - tools - manage Addons (for sure disable SSV2 if it is there, it is no longer necessary but Java always install
"(and it causes problems - you never update Java to go back in and turn it off again)." Search for other possible problems.

Windows Defender - tools - software explore - look for problems with programs that do not look right. Permit
are usually OK and "unauthorized" are not always bad. If in doubt about a program to ask about it here.

Could be that a BHO - BHOremover - free - standalone program, needs no installation, download and run - not all
are bad, but some can cause your question (toolbars are BHO).

Also get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you ever suspect malware, and that would be unusual with
Avast and Prevx running except a low occasional (not much), updated cookie and then run it as
a scanner. I have a lot of scanners and they never find anything of note that I started to use this configuration.

I hope this helps.

I have installed all add ons and I looked at other options for the restoration of the bookmarks, but none of them worked. the drop-down list that displays Web sites I frequent is also empty. I lost a lot of favorites, and I'm a little upset about it.

First of all, you can make a backup of your profile folder. It contains (or should contain!) your database of bookmarks and a folder of backups. For backup of Firefox, see back up your information. (You can copy the profile together somewhere outside the Mozilla folder folder).

  • Bookmarks are missing from the list tab so much my favorite and I do not know if this was caused by the plugin or due to lack of space in my internal HD. Help, please?

Dear community, I promise that I will try to be as concise as possible. I am really desperate for help! I read absolutely everything about missing bookmarks, but as you can see my problem also concerns the sliders and Google are different on the screen.

It all started that day that I was running short on storage in my boarding school HD all of a sudden my computer showed that I had 0 KB available, and I just deleted some big mov files and restarted the computer. After the reboot, I opened FF and noticed that my favorites were missing and so has my reading list - my reading list is stored using the ReadItLater plugin (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/read-it-later/). I tried to google solutions for my problem and realized that something was strange the way the results have been posted.

So, I made some screenshots because it's really hard to explain what happens in writing, so please take a look:

    1. when I first open my FF, if I click on ReadItLater, I get this error message (code 0 x 80570016): [[click here | http://www.flickr.com/photos/81007892@N07/7423869970/]]

    2. then if I click any link on the page and go back to check my ReadItLater list, I can open it without receiving an error message, but always WITHOUT READING LIST is displayed. Image: [[click here | http://flic.kr/p/cj2gPm]]

    3. now take a look at how Google is the display of the results on FF! The text appears in black/green when it is really supposed to be displayed in blue/green/black! The cursor is also messed up: when I try to click on one of the links with the arrow, it turns into a cursor type instead of the usual hand or by clicking on the slider! Please see the image: [[click here | http://www.flickr.com/photos/81007892@N07/7423869468/]]

    4. here is a screenshot of the same search Google but this time made the Safari. Compare it with the previous image: [[click here | http://www.flickr.com/photos/81007892@N07/7423869252/]]

Any help will be much appreciated. I tried to reinstall FF again once already and I also deleted and reinstalled FF but I never deleted personal profile which is located in the library folder information. In addition, tried to back up and replace the profile folder but my computer does not allow me. I received a message saying that it was not possible to copy the file places.sqlite - wal. I did a search on this subject and I can say that I never had a double profile. Help, please? I'm desperate and I can't lose my playlist of my favorites!

    Thank you, community of Firefox!

  • Pictures, Favorites and documents are missing

Because the Sony Media Gallery was not working, I did a restore and recovery, to the C drive. Now I have my photo folders, but no pictures in them. Also, my documents and Favorites folder are missing. I was wondering if Windows stores these somewhere and if yes how I find them? I tried to use the disk that my photos are saved on, but Windows says it can't restore.

Thanks in advance for your help.

A Sony tech helped me to restore my files. I thank all those who responded to my problem. Thank you very much.

  • I do not use sync and am not connected? Why my favorites are synchronization?

My desktop computer has a series of bookmarks that I use at work. My home PC has another, different set of bookmarks that I use at home. I do not use sync and am not connected to sync on each PC. Why my favorites are the synchronization between two PCs? For example, I noticed several bookmarks near the top of my bookmark menu over a line of separation that I do not have to work. I deleted them. I come home and find those missing same bookmarks from my PC at home. I do not want to synchronize anything between the two computers, why what is happening?

Maybe an add-on is the sync these for you.

    Hello

    (1) have you made changes before the start of this issue?

    (2) what browser do you use?

    (3) are missing bookmarks in Internet Explore or a different browser?

Method 1: If bookmarks are missing in Internet Explorer then follow the steps below:

Navigate to the following location and check to see if the bookmark is listed.

    C:\Documents and Settings\nom Name\Favorites.

Go to start/run/Regedit and navigate to this key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\UserShellFolders

Search in the right for the value of Favorites pane. Note the full path to the

    Favorites folder.

This value should be a REG_SZ value type, not a type REG_EXPAND_SZ. If it's the latter of the two, right click on Favorites, and then select Delete. Then right-click in the right pane and select new, string value and name it favourites.

Double-click the new entry and enter the path to the Favorites folder.

  • All my tabs are missing! Rename and copy/paste the files did not help

I accidentally opened two windows of Firefox and closed one with all my tabs pinned first, then the second tab. After Firefox reload all my tabs are missing and I tried to rename files, copy and paste files, etc. as suggests these forums, but nothing has worked. I have myself screwed on?

Check first the Menu history for any tab restore options.
    In the second place.
If you have already restarted Firefox and have a copy of the files: close Firefox

    1. Open the profile folder profiles - where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data
    2. Save the previous.js recovery.bak and recovery.js under another name
    3. Place the recovery files in the profile folder.

So that this does not happen again change your tab Preferences and settings or try Session Manager add and save your profile.

  • I did the update of firefox Windows 10 and now, my favorites are GONE! It says: failed to process the backup file. When I try to restore the "old" library.

Firefox did an update to 'work seamlessly with Win 10'. When Firefox is restarted, ALL MY FAVORITES HAVE DISAPPEARED. I went to the library and tried to restore the bookmarks. It won't! I have a system of computer backup, but no. CLUE where to find my favorites. So frustrated. I have used Firefox for a ton of years and never had my favorites disappear.
