Firefox guard opens an old tab. How can I stop this?
When I open Firefox, it opens not only a tab with my home page but a second tab that contains old search I did. How can I get it to stop? I use Firefox 30.0 and it says it's updated from 13/07/14 today. I have Windows 7 as operating system.
Your list of details of the system shows that you have two pages defined as many home pages:
- Browser.Startup.homepage: http://home.myhughesnet.com/| http://iSearch.Avg.com/search?q=Hughes%20Net%20GEN%203%20speeds & pid = & Coid = & cid = & Mid = & DS = & v = & lang = & PR = & SG = & d = & SAP = NT & src = XP & SND = HP & sap_acp = 0
Firefox supports several home pages separated by ' |' symbol (pipe).

Access to the website was OK until I upgraded to Firefox 8 which works well with other sites I visit regularly.
Thank you. It is a financial institution. I can contact them to check on the plans in support of version 8. In the meantime, I use IE on this site. Of course liked the look and feel of FF better V3.

Hello, you can have present malicious addons. Please perform these steps:
- Reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
- then go to the firefox menu
> addons > extensions and where there are still extensions listed there, disable them.
- Finally, run a full scan of your system with security tools like the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner to ensure that adware is not present in other parts of your system as well.

I have to adjust my cookies and I found the instructions on your site. When I followed the instructions, I found that it seems to an older version and not the new. The privacy settings are not the same because they were once and I can't make changes to cookies may except to remove them.
What I could do, it was to go to the "Firefox" tab in the upper left corner, go to history, clear recent history and so on. I can't make changes to a single cookie. It's all or nothing.
Are there any other ways for me to make the adjustments?
I had and tried to suggest what you say, and it has only caused more problems.
In addition, by clicking on the Firefox button orange > Options, it is not life private, click. Also, I'm supposed to go to ' advanced after Panel go to Options and that too is not available for me to choose. I think that these options would help me with what I'm looking for is that they have implemented the way they used to be. The instructions that the technical team or whoever is responsible for updates of Firefox, is not only a user can follow.

The site that I always worked before with cams, and I was just there before the update. After that Firefox is updating the cams would work no more - neither I nor others. It is empty. How to fix this or go back to the old version of Firefox? Thank you.
These cameras are available to the public for us to test? (They use which plugin) flash, java etc.) ? In fact, you are not yet on the latest version of Firefox, that may be your problem, try to update Firefox Firefox updated to the latest version, then update your plugins, https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/

Everytime I open Firefox I get a message: "an attempt to change your home page has been blocked" and firefox crashes.
I unintalled (on my MAC) and reinstalled twice. Makes no difference. Any suggestions?Could you try starting Firefox in Safe Mode? It is a standard diagnostic tool to disable some advanced features of Firefox and extensions. More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.
Does not work if Firefox: Hold down the option key when starting Firefox.
If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Mode safe mode using either:
- button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > restart with disabled modules
- Help menu > restart with disabled modules
and OK reboot.
Two scenarios: A small dialog box should appear. Click on 'Start mode safe' (not update).
Any improvement?
While you are in Mode without failure, you could copy a list of your extensions and paste them into an answer? The best place for this is the support information page - either:
- button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
- (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
- type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter
Scroll down to the Extensions section, and then select from there until the end of the following table with the mouse and copy. Then paste into a response. It may seem a bit messy but don't worry, we're used to it.
In addition, if you check your homepage settings, he changed? This article explains where to find that page preferences: start-up, homepage, tabs and download settings.

When Firefox 3.6.11 came out I wanted to update. I clicked "apply downloaded update now... "and then just rebooted without updating. I went to the download page, download the program installation and upgrade in this way. It worked, but now it still says "apply downloaded update now...» "in the Help menu.
Why it does this and how can I fix this without losing my bookmarks and settings?See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Software_Update (Software Update doesn't work does not correctly)
Delete the files in the folder updates\0 and updates:
Vista/Windows7:C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox\updates (%LOCALAPPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox\updates)
- Download a new copy of Firefox http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
- Remove the Firefox program folder before installing this copy of the Firefox installer.
- It is important to remove the Firefox program folder to delete all the files and make sure that there is no problem with the files that were the remains after uninstallation.
Your bookmarks and other profile data is stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a (rei) installation, but make sure that you do not select delete data of a personal nature if you decide to uninstall Firefox.

I started this morning, opens Firefox as usual. The normal task bar has been replaced by a taskbar of Bing. I couldn't get rid of him. So, I tried to reset Firefox. The taskbar of Bing was not deleted. I uninstalled firefox and downloaded the latest version and installed. I also uninstalled the taskbar of Bing as found in my list of programs. I opened Firefox and no matter what I select on the menu or on a website a message appears saying that the site is not reliable. It is as far as I can get in Firefox! The message arrives even for internal actions within Firefox. How can I fix it. It's very frustrating!

I followed the instructions to change my settings of cookies, but whenever I click on OK and close out he returns to previous setting recall the story. How can I fix this so that the parameters iI choose will stay?
That's ok.
Firefox shows that the 'use the settings customized for history' if at least a history and cookie setting is not the default to make you aware that the changes have been made.
If all the history settings are the defaults, the custom settings are hidden and see you "conservation rules: (never) don't forget history."
"Never remember history" means that private browsing is active and "Always use private browsing mode" Gets a check mark. The default cookie settings mean that all cookies are enabled.
Have you checked exceptions to make sure you aren't blocking cookies?
