My goal is to be able to handle individual windows 'History' folder addresses as if each was a single data file.
I use Windows XP (with Service Pack 3) and IE8. My goal is to be able to handle individual windows 'History' folder addresses as if each were a data file.
Windows effectively extract individual addresses of the 'Historical' invisible system folder and place them in files 'short cut', an address by file.
I need to be able to reinstall these addresses in the 'History' folder (C:\Documents and Settings\ "profile name" \Local Settings\History) batch. I want to be able to specify what subfolder 'date' in 'Historic' must be installed for, but I want the "Web site" subfolder in the subfolder 'date' to be determined by the software. Batch processing is crucial; the process must be able to extract the Web addresses of thousands of "short cuts" and install these addresses to 'History', effectively, preferably in a single operation.
This would "roll" addresses to more recent dates in "history before they"expire"by management of the history of IE settings (Tools > Internet Options > Browsing History settings specifying 'Days for which these Pages are kept') or even between different facilities to explore."
Proper maintenance by the user could allow for recognige to explore a page that has been visited as long as a given computer was in use (e.g., after five years, 1825 days, rather than maxing out to 999 days). Or, as in my case, if we personalise a user profile for a particular task, we spend a lot of time with and Explorer history is an important part of this customization, one could also move the story of a machine one is being scrapped at the profile on the replacement machine. We could keep history for the life of the profile regardless of how many machines it was used on sequentially. We could even keep the profile on several machines at the same time (cabin office, Headquarters Office, laptop,...) and the history of synchronize between iterations of the profile.
Knowing that a Web page has been previously seen by only a quick look on the link to access the page can be a huge time saver!
Any suggestion that would allow to extract addresses from Windows 'short cuts' Web pages and reinstall these addresses in the 'History' folder, on a batch basis, would be highly appreciated.

Hi all
Need help on the new tab on Mozilla.
I want to be able to type directly into the address bar every time I open a new tab in Mozilla, without clicking anything whatsoever. To be more clear, this means that whenever I open the new tab, the blinking cursor is already on the address bar.
What is happening now is everytime I open a new tab, the cursor is placed anywhere - not on the search bar on the page, and not on the address bar. I should put the cursor somewhere to do something.
I tried to use the subject: reset config (1) and the custom installation new tab (2), but the two do not work.
When I tried the subject: config reset the reset button has not been highlighted (I assume that means it is by default), and the new custom tab doesn't give a different result. What confused me, it's 2 days ago, my Mozilla works fine. Whenever I open a new tab, the blinking cursor is in the address bar and I was able to type directly.
I thank you and appreciate the help!
Note:
(1) about: config reset:
-Enter about: config in the address bar and press ENTER.
-To avoid the warning, press the big button "I'll be careful, I promise!
-In the search box, paste browser.newtab.url
-In the search results, click browser.newtab.url, and then click Reset.(2) add custom reset:
-Install Custom new tab = https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/custom-new-tab/
-Open modules (Ctrl + Shift + A Manager; Mac: Command + shift + A), then the Extensions category.
-Side of new custom tab, click the Options button.
-Set any page you want to open in each new tab (topic: newtab is the value default; about: home is the default home page) and make sure that "Focus in the URL bar" is not checked.Dear philipp and cor - el,
Thank you very much for your help! I've erased all the installation of Firefox and did several restarts, now, the problem goes away (even if I still don't know what the problem of the root).

I have windows vista I'll be able to upgrade to windows 10?
* O.T. > upgrade Windows 10
I have windows vista I'll be able to upgrade to windows 10? If so, how? I go to the website to get the free download, but it brings back me to the page 'help '.
Hello
Depends on hardware configuration required on later operating systems, and also find out if the manufacturer of the laptop computer is supported and provides drivers for operating systems later as to whether it is possible or feasible to upgrade or not.
There is no free upgrade Vista to 7, 8.1, or 10.
Follow these steps before you buy Windows 7.
Microsoft sells more than 7; Try Amazon.com.
Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.
If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.
Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

Follow these steps before buy you and upgrade (new installation) of Windows 8.1.

Try Amazon.com, etc.
Check if the manufacturer of your computer/laptop has Windows 8.1 drivers available for your model.
If this is not available, Windows 8.1 not install and work properly for you.
There is a lot of information in this first link from Microsoft:

I'll be able to upgrade to Windows 7 Vista boot problems?
original title: Windows Vista failed to start. I'll be able to upgrade to Windows 7, even if the computer does not start?
Vista will not start after a Windows Update I tried to prevent. Tired of Vista. Ordered Windows 7 and want to upgrade. Can I switch by inserting the installation disk or I have to do a custom install and lose all the files?
You cannot use an upgrade disk to do a full install - it will not activate (you would think that this has worked, but it didn't, and then you'll be stuck with having to re - install Vista with a full format and then update). You need to upgrade a working Vista system started in normal mode. It cannot be upgraded just by using the disc.
I suggest you post your problem of Vista in the Windows Update Forum Update: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistawu/threads , where updates experts will be happy to help you. Please post with the information requested here:what to post in the Windows Update forum. You must fix Vista before you can upgrade to Windows7 (unless you have a complete installation Windows7 disk then you can do an installation clean, but will not upgrade and you will lose everything on the hard drive that you save first).
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

The Test page printed successfully.4. I am able to print documents, but will not scan. I tried both ways - single and multiple - sheets. Scan still does not work.Any suggestion would be appreciated.Hi ApolloWZ,
Thanks for your quick response.
In the meantime, I found the solution to my problem, so I thought I'd share it here for others.
I found the answer here:
I will cut & paste the answer below, in which case the link above doesn't work at some point:
(1) on the computer target under the normal user account, press Start, in the search box type services.msc. Right click on the program that appears and select "Run as Administrator". Enter your user password or click on next to go to the UAC popup, if necessary.
(2) locate the service called "Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)" and double-click it.
3) click the connection tab, and then change this service to log on under a Local System account. Click here to allow the service to interact with desktop. And then click OK.
(4) reboot (or if you really don't want to restart & know what you're doing, you can just stop & restart the WIA service twice)See you soon,.

Not able to locate the Windows Media Player 12.
Original title: Windows Media Download? Do not find... disappeared
Recently, I had to do a check disk and a system restore. Back to the computer, I was able to locate the Windows Media Player 12 United Nations, I looked and looked and there was'nt even situated in the 'Windows features on and outside Tower' box. Then I got on the chat with microsoft and they sent me a link to dpownload it again once, however I downloaded it, and he kept saying "these updates are not compatible with your computer": even if I downloaded the correct link and also I'm aware of updates. Also, I tried to find the download on microsofts website and it says that the page is unavailable.
I was able to locate the media player in the C drive, but only fragments of it, I know its there somewhere and I was wondering if there was a way to access?
I don't want a response to "go to microsoft and redownload. I'm pretty crazy right now with people who post those.
Someone at - it true tech tips? Apparently, Microsoft is without it.

- If this is not the case, what is recommended?

Only the Windows 8 OEM System Builder licenses are full versions. The retail version of Windows 8 is not a full version, but an upgrade and requires a previous version of Windows (XP, Vista, Windows 7 installed) in order to use it.
