  • Satellite P100-434 - graphics card gone will be the motherboard replaced?

    Hello!

Last night, on my laptop screen went black on reboot, but the rest of the laptop seems to load very well. First of all, I thought it was the light back who had died, but an external monitor did not work either, so my son thinks that the graphics card is dead.

The laptop is almost three years, but, fortunately, it is still under an extended warranty. My question is, repair the laptop, no doubt, replace the motherboard or is not cost-effective and that they will give me a new laptop? Also, how time Toshiba take to repair laptops under warranty?

    Thank you for everything hep.

    Hello

Of course, if the graphics card is faulty, you will get a new mainboard, and due to the extended warranty, it will be free for you. You will not get a new laptop, only the motherboard will be exchanged I think because it s cheaper as a new laptop and Satellite P100 is pretty portable. ;)

I think that no one can say how long the repair takes to your laptop. It's always different and depending on the availability of spare parts. Therefore, you should ask the authorized service provider. They can tell you more.

But I have to say on my laptop, that the motherboard was also exchanged the ASP. Repair didn t take much time, as far as I know it was only a few days. Nice service and the technician are cool people. :)

  • [p7-1240] How can I find out what graphics cards will work with my motherboard?

I recently went through the nightmare of trying to install a Gigabyte GTX 650 in my PC. After a few days of struggle and scouring the internet for answers, I discovered that it is not compatible with the BIOS on my motherboard, and HP does not update the BIOS. I returned the card and is now seeking a new, but I'm not sure what card works now, since my computer meet the requirements of system for the graphics card and it stil ldid does not work. Because the GPU manufacturers do not list the specifications of the BIOS under system requirements, how can I know if a graphics card will work with my system?

My computer is a p7-1240 with a 520W PSU upgrade and approximeately 11 "of space to install the card.

    Thexn, welcome to the forum.

The problem is a lot of video cards latest require the computer to have a complete UEFI BIOS.  HP began using one in mid-October 2012.  Before that date, the BIOS is the legacy.  This is why the video card does not work with your computer.

I don't know what you would spend on a card, but MSI is a GTX 750ti which is a VBIOS hybrid.  It has a switch to change to inheritance or UEFI.  Is there a video link directly below the image of a card.  Paul of Newegg gives a complete description of the map.

I like the best EVGA cards.  Their Support gave me a lot of information on their cards.  However, you will need to return to a GT 640 map to find one of their cards that does not require the UEFI BIOS.  They have a few updates for their BIOS' are which solves the problem, but we must call them for accurate maps.

  • Graphic card vs compatibility PCI - E motherboard

    Hello

I have a new card in my PC, but I'm afraid a bit with the PCI-E card and the motherboard.
My PC can be found here: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01982717
While the map I want to buy can be found here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=14-130-827

I'd rather not settle to learn more or less of this card because it seems very beneficial for the things I do. But let's go hunting. As you can see, I am almost sure that my motherboard is a PCI-E 1.0, while the card I want to buy is a PCI-E 3.0. I also clearly aware that I need to replace the power SUPPLY and the things for this card, so no worries about that. I also measured and it looks perfect. I did some research on compatibility and it seems that they are backward compatible, which is great... but I ran into things on the internet State it is only towards the back-compatible 2.0 and 1.1. Although 8 have read, it will decrease the performance which I'm not terribly worried. If a card is not as powerful as this one but is PCI-E 2.0, that would be fantastic.

I would like to very positive and in-depth responses from anyone who does not give an answer because I wouldn't rather send the card back or even lose money.

    Thank you

    Peter

    Yes.

PCIe x 16 2.0 is fully backward compatible with any PCIe x 16 slot.

It is when you go beyond the 2.0 that you are having problems.

  • HP 240 g3: you can upgrade the graphics card on hp 240g 3

I have the 240 with celeron n2840 g3 and intel hd 2 GB ram is it possible to upgrade ram and a dedicated video memory?

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

The memory is expandable, but nothing else. The processor and the graphics card is soldered to the motherboard, as well as any changes made to these components would require the replacement of the motherboard which would be unwise because of the cost.

  • T520: Change my graphics card?

    Hi all

I was wondering, is it possible to replace the graphics card in my T520?

I have a Nvidia 4200 M here already and was thinking to replace it with a new best of Genesis graphics card (Kepler architecture, 670MX +).

I know that I can spend on RAM / HDD, but I can pass on my graphics card?

And another problem I face, I'm not finding where I can buy the laptop GPU of...

Newegg does not have. Neither does Amazon.

If someone could point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated.

Edit: And by the way, I bought my T520 about 20 months, it has a Sandy Bridge 2620 M clocked at 2.70 GHz and 4 GB of RAM.

The graphics card is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be replaced.

    pls help

Welcome aboard, Geo. You're not having any problem with your video card; you have a problem with your monitor. For the price paid, you have a quad-core laptop with a powerful video card, but something else had to go in order to keep the prices low (and Yes, savings have been forwarded to you).

Hello, my son has a laptop 17 - 3D want 3000 and the video graphics card went bad or the motherboard unsodered, is this repairable?

Everything is repairable for enough money. The only option is to replace the motherboard. Making may not be not too expensive as long as you have someone who can do the job part free. The laptop is old enough that good job cards mothers may cost $80-125 on the market.

  • Possible update graphics card on Equium A210

    Hello
    Once again
I was wondering if it was possible to update the graphics card in the Equium A210 for a better graphics card or how to make the most frankly graphics when you play online are shocking and the man in the shop lie seems to me :(

Sorry mate, but there is no possibility to upgrade the graphics card built into your machine, as the graphics card is "wired", which means that the integrated graphics chip is soldered on the motherboard.

So, you could upgrade RAM HDD & to increase performance, but who are the only options to get more performance out of your machine.

  • Pavilion 15-n204TX: can I install an another graphics card on my laptop?

I currently have NVIDIA GeForce GT M 740 in my laptop (it's 2GB graphics card). Can I switch to 4 GB?

    If so, how?

    Thank you.

    Hi @_Nish_,.

Thank you for joining the HP Forums!

I understand you're wondering if you can upgrade your NVIDIA GeForce GT 740 M for a 4GB card for your HP Pavilion Notebook 15 - n204TX. I am pleased to see that for you!

The graphics card is soldered directly on the motherboard, which means the card cannot be upgraded because it is a card dedicated to this laptop.
