My history of firefox stopped to save.

This has happened since 2-3 days. I have not install or download anything. In addition, my settings are on "remember history" and I tried the custom settings. In addition, I'm not on private browsing. My story is still there except those of 2-3 days ago. For example, my story "Today" is not there. Bookmarking always works. I don't know if this helps but I know occasional crashes in Firefox but I doubt it would be the cause because I had these accidents for a long time. This problem is more recent.

I've included the troubleshooting information, if that helps.

Have you otherwise or had problems with the bookmarks or history?

You can check for problems with the database places.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder.

Note that you will lose all the history, if you delete the places.sqlite file.

If necessary and try to drag elements of the story (copy/paste) into a folder of bookmarks and try to export the Favorites to an HTML file.

Be sure to check that the HTML file has the history items.

The problems are gone now. However, I'll never know exactly what that caused them. When I restarted the computer in safe mode problems continue. But when I tried to restart my computer does not recognize the hard drive in safe mode or in normal mode.

It is possible that the Firefox problems were caused by a faulty hard drive.

I was able to rebuild the directory with Disk Warrior and transfer my files, but the disk would not boot. Fortunately, I had a spare hard drive. I installed and reloaded all my software and data from scratch. I also downloaded the latest version of Firefox. Firefox works fine now.

Thanks for all your suggestions. They may not have fixed this particular problem, but I learned a few new tricks from you to solve other problems.

I have three browsers such as Firefox 3.6.28. I run a book of Power Mac G4 with OS X 10.5.8

For my two other browsers the attached text and color remain standing when I left everyone but for Firefox, when I delete the history or simply 'stop,' the next time I have try Yahoo Mail the seal of the text and the color were not saved.

Of course, I don't have to use Yahoo on Firefox, but I would like to; always have.

  • How can I delete my entire history on Firefox except for history to download?

I want to delete my browsing history, cookies and cache, but I want to keep my download history, all that.

I can't remember what version it is, but after update, I deleted my browser history and noticed that my download history has been eliminated up to a point, before the update. The last time I tried, I could delete my cookies and cache and my download history was untouched.

I see in the "clear recent history" dialog navigation and history of downloads are consider one thing. It wasn't a thing before.

I want to keep my download history but delete my browsing history, cookies and cache.

Go to the Options window > Panel Privacy > history session click use the customized for history > clear history of Firefox closing then settings button is active click it, and then click except download history or other things you want to keep it > click OK to save, exit firefox and restart.

  • Why Firefox doesn't save my tabs from the previous session although I chose to do it in the options?

Firefox does not save my tabs from the previous session, although I have chosen in options, to save my tabs from the previous session.

Firefox 4 saves the previous session automatically, so it is no longer necessary for the dialog box asking if you want to save the current session.

Use ' file > exit ' or ' Firefox > output "If you want to restore multiple windows.

You can use "Firefox > history > restore previous Session ' to get the previous session at any time.

There is also a button 'Restore previous Session' on the default on: Home home page.

    Another possibility is to use:

Make sure that you do not remove the navigation, search and download history on Firefox to clear the browsing history when you close Firefox.

  • Firefox does not save the connection ID

I would like to register my code for the sites that require a login. I never save the password, just the code.
Don't know what combination of setting lets do this
    The parameters I tried:
    Don't forget history of navigation > 0
    And parameters customized to clear:
    Clear passwords
    Clear shape data
It seems that when I put "remember...". "0 days then my ID disappears the next day. I do check not control it clear of passwords and Date of precise form on the assumption that these two ratingses, but that makes no difference.

In Firefox 3.5 and later "form and search history" entries expire just like the "regular" browser history

The pref browser.history_expire_days determines the expiration of items of history and also data form and the research of the effects.

See http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.history_expire_days (180) (also affects saved form data)

Make sure that you do not remove the navigation, search and download history on Firefox to clear "form & search history".

  • How to set how many months of history remembers Firefox? And how many months of history normally remembers Firefox?

It seems the option to set the number of months (or weeks) to historical data which will be remembered are absent from the history section of the Firefox options. Is there a more indirect way to define how much Firefox history will remember, perhaps to about: config or so?

And incidentally, how history * fact * Firefox remember when I check "remember history"? I can't find where that is specified. I assumed he remembered all the sites I've ever visited, but back in the "Oldest of 6 months" folder in the history, I see that this is not the case. There are only a few dozen sites, whereas it should be hundreds (because I think that I never deleted history for about 2 years).

The current versions of Firefox keep a maximum number of page visited and have no limitation in time for the story.
Firefox automatically determines the number of pages can be kept without affecting performance.

You can see the current value of the maximum value of the read-only pref places.history.expiration.transient_current_max_pages on the topic: config page.

  • Firefox will not save my Yahoo mail passwords, but will be exploring.

Firefox allows to save passwords of yahoo Mail, but lately, doesn't seem to work. I have 2 email accounts and password with Yahoo. I read through and clicked on all the things on which allows passwords to be saved, but nothing works. I don't have this problem with Solution Explorer. If it's just something that Yahoo has been close Firefox then so let it be, but if there is something that can be done I would appreciate the help.

I read through the other Q & A on this point, it looks like a big problem everywhere, but many solutions say on bookmarks, etc I do not understand what to do. Many say "resolved", but I don't see any solution.

remmed on my first temporary comment

Hello, Web sites can specify whether browsers should be able to save the name of user and password (through the AutoComplete = "off" attribute in the login form in the HTML source)-this is also the case with yahoo.

You can either install an addon or use a bookmarklet to work around this restriction.
