[Moved from Community Participation]

Hello Stephen,

You did mention the operating system installed in the laptop. Provide that information will help you provide better assistance.

Basically, if your laptop and the printer are connected to the same network (or even router), you can configure and connect to this printer as a network printer in the laptop. The article I'm referring below has a tutorial on how to connect printers (Local and network), please go through the information in there and see if it helps you as well.

Install a printer

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/install-printer#install-printer=Windows-7

If you need assistance, just reply to the version of the operating system running on the laptop, and we'll be happy to help you.

Thank you and have a nice day ahead!

I just bought a router Netgear R7000 AC1900 Nighthawk.  I works very well with all my computers with any operating systems except my wife of Acer Windows Vista.  Netgear technology could not operate either except when we connected as a guest without security protection.  I do not to run like that because of the lack of security.  The technology said that my version of Vista apparently did not have the right drivers for the router.  It works very well with my connected Ethernet Windows XP system, so it seems strange that the old system would have to the newer system drivers with no.  Anyone have any ideas?

Most of my printing is black and white only.  How can I ask black and white only, without losing any more my color cartridge content.

Please read this post then provide some details.   What operating system? In most versions of Windows, you can set default values in the Printers folder.  Look for the setting of "Print in grayscale" and "use black ink only.

Black ink is pigmented and is not compatible with most photo papers.  If you have selected the photographic support for a type of paper the black cartridge cannot be used.

Well the best place for that information is the User Guide that you got with the printer or download from the page of full HP support here.

  • DeskJet 6940: ethernet connection between the new modem and printer does not transmit Mac

I just installed a new modem to Qwest; It works wirelessly with my iMac 10.11. My old (but functional until yesterday) Deskjet 6940 is connected to the modem via Ethernet. When I try to print, the document seems to be transmitted to the printer, but then it hangs on and I get the message "the printer is not connected" - which it is, plugged, ethernetted, and set in motion. Support of Qwest says that only 10% of the info from the computer are the printer, but he seems to think that the part of the new modem Ethernet is functional,

I have already tried all unplug/restart/send/add printer new check/updates / IP (cannot connect) / ethernet ports and cables, etc.

    Any other ideas?

    Thank you!

    Hi @newgranny,

Thanks for getting back to me.

It is good that the printer has been able to print a diagnostic page.

Ensure that the router and firewall on the market do not block these ports.

    Ports of printing:

    • UDP ports: 427, 137, 161
    • TCP port: 9100

    Card photo upload:

    • UDP ports: 137, 138, 427
    • TCP port: 139

    The HP device status:

    • UDP port: 161

    Ports of Web Services:

    • UDP and TCP: 80, 443, 5222 and 5223

    Hello Ports:

    • TCP and UDP: 5353 and 5297, 5298

Unplug the wired network (ethernet cable), restore the default values on the printer.

    Restore the default settings.

Follow these steps to reset the printer to factory default settings:

    1. check that the printer is on.

    2. press and hold down the button to report Page.

3 while holding down three times the homepage button, press the Cancel button.

    4. release the report Page button.

    Source

    • Restart the printer.
    • Connect the ethernet cable.
    • What were the results?

If the problem persists, try the USB connection.

Please reply to this message with the results. Good luck!

  • Deskjet D2660 printer: unable to print from your PC Windows 10 using printer HP Deskjet D2660 shared connected to Windows 7 PC

    Hello

I have two PC Marge and Homer connected through a NetGear router:

Margin: A Windows 7 32 bit laptop computer with an HP Deskjet D2660 printer and one scanner HP Scanjet 2400 attached to it. All these devices work perfectly well.

Homer: 10 64 bit Windows desktop without devices.

The two computers share their photos, music, videos and documents folders and printers via a homegroup. However, although Homer can see the printer connected to the margin, if I try to print anything from Homer, it fails. To give an example of this, if I print from 2013 word on Homer, the dialog box is shown below:

At other times, on Homer, the item to be printed appears in the print queue, spool but then disappear. Moreover, I am aware of the problems of HP driver causing the elements to disappear with the disappearance of print queues in Windows.

All the HP diagnostic software I tried did not detect the printer, perhaps because it is an older model.

    Can someone advise?

    Thank you

    Martin O'Shea.

For the Dissapperaing of print job in the queue. Please follow the path below.

Step: 1 Goto C drive--> Windows System32-->--> coil--> printers (right click and click Properties).

Step: 2. under printer properties. Click the Security tab.

Step: 3 Under Group or user name-> click on each one, then click on modify.

Click on allow on all the paramaters (Permission) and then click on apply and then click ok.

Step: 4 reboot the system and unplug the power cable from the printer without pressing the power button on the printer.

Problem should be solved, it's usually because that computer allocates the permission for printing.

I hope that this should take care of the concern.

  • HP Deskjet 3520: Wireless connection

Recently, I changed my wifi network in my house and found that the printer cannot connect or recognize the new wifi network. I tried the reset of the printer to its default settings and turning the router and the printer power off and power on. I do not have a USB however, so this isn't an option for me.
I am extremely confused with the way the printer is supposed to identify the wireless network and how I'm supposed to connect to another or where I'm supposed to type the password for the network.

    Any help gratefully received.

    Hi @Jillianne16,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I noticed that you can not connect your HP Deskjet 3520 to your new wireless network. I'm happy to help you with this problem of connection!

    A few questions for you:

    1. What operating system do you use? If you do not know the operating system you are using, please visit this site. Whatsmyos.
    2. You are able to print a test page with your printer? Video: print a Test Page-HP Deskjet 3520 e-all-in-one printer. (That way we know that material the printer works properly.

In the meantime, please see this message, How to connect a USB-wireless printer to a wireless network without PC, by @jason_h. If you do not have an iPad as indicated in this message, using your computer, open a web browser (for example, Firefox, Google Chrome etc.) and put the IP mentioned in this post in the address bar of the web browser. Then continue with the instructions in this post.

Otherwise, if this post does not help to connect, I would very get a USB 2.0 printer cable at a local store. Once you have the cable, you can connect temporarily to your computer and convert a USB connection to a wireless connection, what could be easier.

Hope this post will help and hope to hear from you soon!

  • Satellite P875-S7200: HP Deskjet 1510 cannot connect to the Printer Wizard

When I try to open HP DESKJET 1510 SERIES on my computer it looks like trying to connect to the Printer Wizard but never open and that's why I can't scan anything. How can I connect to the Printer Wizard? On the screen all I can see just - text by default - and it looks like loading but never opened.

Thanks for getting back to me @Amandazone

Looks like you have reduced, I don't know what else could cause this problem.

Since you said that you need the software for the analysis, I came to the top with some other ideas.

    You are able to try this;

    1. Open all programs
    2. Locate / expand your HP folder
    3. Locate/expand your HP Deskjet 1510 case
    4. Try to open HP Scanand see if it will scan

If it will not scan, you can try the steps outlined in this document;  HP scanning software is not open or Scan to a printer using a USB in Windows.

    Another option would be to scan without using HP software;

You can find on theseoptionsScan how-to: Windows 7

Please let me know the results of scanning HP, and what happens when you try to scan without the HP software.

I look forward to hear from you!

    Thank you

    Hello drmmahfouz64,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

This method of printing is not something that is supported at the moment, I think that this site may hold some useful info: everything you need to know about printing from your Android Phone or Tablet

I would like to have more information to share, but with the age of the printer are done printing from a much harder Mobile device.

  • HP Deskjet 840C and Mac OSX Mavericks

    Hello community HP

I use a Macbook Pro 10.9.2 Mavericks with the HP Deskjet 840C printer.   I can print in black and white, but not in color.   The b & w and color cartridges have been replaced recently and the internal printer test gave a perfect result (in color) so it shouldn't be a cartridge problem.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello

It is a 3rd party software indeed and not officially declared as Mavericks compatible... However, I have a good experience with the software specific and installed successfully on Mavericks, like other users reported as well...

Be sure to install one of the 3 required software components, and then follow the instructions to add the printer Printers & Scanners bushel by clicking the use of drop down and select the printer model in the list, the instructions should be similar.

As I said, it is no longer officially supported on your operating system, it is rather a workaround that a solution... in my experience, it should work, for sure it cannot do any harm by installing a print driver.

Hello. I have deskjet 3510 printer wireless. I used to print smooth wireless... But, once I started using Kaspersky Internet Security, printer is unable to connect to the router and I can't use the printer wireless. I guess that the firewall is not blocking. I tried a few things to adjust, but I couldn't. How can I solve it please help.

    Welcome to the @mcmanimanforums.

I saw your post on wireless connection problems that you have with your printer for installation of Kaspersky Internet Security. I suggest you check the settings in the firewall to configure and enable the printer to connect to the network.

  • Deskjet F335 wireless connectivity

The Deskjet F335 has wireless connectivity?  If so, how can I connect to a wireless network?

Sorry, it is not a wireless printer.  Some wireless routers have ports USB supported printers (like the Apple Airport series some D-link and Netgear routers as well).  That would be an option.  However none of these supports scanning, printing only.
