My HP Laserjet 1200 printer will not print several copies.

Printer was fine for several months after installing Windows 7/64, but now will not print multiple copies.
Install the latest drivers from HP does not work.

Sorry, none of these methods worked, but I found a "work around" which, although unsatisfactory, works.
The only way I can change the "exemplary amount printed ' is to go of the program print menu and instead to use the box of"Copies", use" Properties/Advanced/paper output/copy Count"and change cela number of copies wanted, then run the print job, but don't forget to come back to this menu and change it to '1', which will continue to use the new set of amount." This seems to be a problem with the printer driver.

I don't know what has changed. I have not tinkered with the print settings, nor did I update the printer driver, or install a Microsoft Update having to do with my printer.

  • Windows 7 think no driver USB there is for the HP LaserJet 1200 printer

When I plug my HP LaserJet 1200 printer in my Windows 7 laptop via a USB cable, the correct driver should install automatically, but it does not work.  The message error is "HP LaserJet 1200 printer doesn't have a driver', which is not true.

This driver used to work properly on Windows 7.  It is suspected that HP could inadvertently, recently broken the driver.  Do you have someone at HP, or at Microsoft, typo or mistranscribe the string 'HP LaserJet 1200' in a version of the driver, or in a catalog that refers to a newer version of the driver?

To be clear: I is not a smart solution that puts my system in a strange state, I do not understand, or want to try different things that might work, but (as far as I know) could corrupt vaguely a few hidden files or reference system.  My system is now in a clean and orderly condition.  I wish him stay that way.

I'm looking for the standard driver auto installation correctly according to the standard method, as it should.

Since the first meeting of the problem, I erased from my hard drive and reinstalled fresh (not just recovered, rescued or updated, but wiped and freshly reinstalled) my operating system to Windows 7.  It made no difference.  Therefore, the problem seems not to be a problem with my installation.  It seems rather to be a problem with the driver, a catalog that refers to the driver or something of the sort.

We realize that the HP LaserJet 1200 is a pretty old printer, for which we could expect little support.  Despite this, would be the person at Microsoft, who knows printer drivers, check that the "HP LaserJet 1200" string not inadvertently has been misspelled or mistranscribed in a recent version of the driver, or in a catalog that made reference to a recent version of the driver?  As I said, this driver used to work.

If the driver is listed, then you don't have to go through the company if in the update catalog. That's the good news.  The bad news is that I do not understand why it has not installed.

Go to devices and printers.  If there is anything listed in the category 'printers and faxes', select it.  Once you select an item in this category, you will see a 'Print server properties' button at the top of the printers and devices window.  Click on this button.

If there is nothing in the category 'Printers and faxes', you will not be able to get the print server properties button, so instead, open a command prompt window (click on the start ORB, type cmd.exe and press enter), type the following in the black command prompt window and press ENTER:

    printui/s/T2

Whatever it is, you will end up the "Print server properties" window, like this:

I guess that you will NOT see a list for the Laserjet 1200.  Before you add it, however, click the "Ports" tab  You have a Port which is presented as "DOT4_001" (the number may be different at the end)?

Unplug the printer if it is connected.

Back to the tab drivers, click "Add" and you can start the Add Printer Driver Wizard, which is very similar to add an assistant of the printer that you saw earlier.

Click on 'Next' and check the box next to your system - x 64 for 64-bit and x 86 for 32-bit.

Click "Next", select "HP" and "Laserjet 1200 Series PCL 5" and click "Next"

Click 'Finish' to close the wizard

You must return to the Ports of the print server properties tab and now the driver for the "Laserjet 1200 Series PCL 5" should be included in the list

Close the print server properties window

    Restart the computer

    Connect the printer.

    It installs correctly now?

  • LaserJet P1005: LaserJet P1005 unintentionally print several copies after the decommissioning of 10 of Windows to Windows 7

My LaserJet P1005 trustworthy priinter was perfectly printing for a few years on my HP TouchSmart 300 running Windows 7 and connected via USB1.  I have upgraded to Windows 10 for two weeks before deciding that he was turning too slowly.  Subsequently, I have downgraded to Windows 7.

Since the downgrade, the printer has been printing several copies of all documents (eg.  Word, Excel, Web pages).  He prints a copy, waiting (the State indicates a copy pending) and continues to print 3 or 4 future COPs..

So far, I have tried the following:

1 deleted and reinstalled the printer P1005 driver.

    2. guarantee that no multiple copies are selected in the options of the software and a printer.

    3. you click Printer Sharing tab in the printer properties.

I know that's not a printer for the State of the art, but any suggestions on my printer P1005 back to normal would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi @Amoeba,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see by your post that the printer prints multiple copies of the same document. I would like to help you today. Try to clear the record of spool and restart the spooler to print, see if this will help, clear how current Print queue in Windows Vista & Windows 7.

Please try the steps listed in this document, if the problem persists, HP printers - Print Jobs stuck in the print queue (Windows). They should help this situation. What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor?

I used this document to the network printers, you can try it to see if it will help with the USB connection, HP LaserJet Pro P1102w and printers P1606dn - printer continuously prints the same Print Job after it is installed on a network.

Please let me know the results and if there is anything else I can help you. Thank you.

HI - just hung a new impressive 1606dn of Laserjet Pro.  I use an Airport Express Terminal to hang it on a home wireless network. I got a HP Laserjet 1012 hung in the same way and it worked fine.  I am able to find and set up the new printer via Bonjour my Windows 7 laptop and desktop, but when I print a document it prints several copies at all times (for always if I left it): the document does not queue!

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

    Without a doubt!

  • Printer LaserJet Pro (P1102W) will not contribute to that.

I don't use a lot of this printer.   I have printed probably less than 50 sheets since.  It is on the original cartridge when I bought it and the guarantee missed.    It will not feed into.  I tried to plug it into a different plug in another room.  I tried with and without the USB cable is connected.  I also tried a different power cord.   It will not feed into.

I hope that I shouldn't take in repairs becaue, I probably won't.  It would probably be cheaper to buy another, but another brand.   I'm just glad I didn't buy the spare pricy cartridge before he died.  Any suggestions on how to register this printer?  I really liked it is of compact size.

    Hi @Cristan ,

I see that you are having problems with the printer power on/off do not. I would like to help.

You have pretty much covered all the steps I have provided. I met this document you can check where something might have been missed. Printer will not turn on or respond when the power button or power switch is pressed.

Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (do not use a hub or a surge protector) This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

If the power cord of the printer has worked on a monitor, we can rule out the power cord at the origin of the problem.

I would try another outlet using an another breaker, just to rule out it.

You may contact HP directly if you like, to see if they have a replacement option for you or for a trade in option to 800-474-6836. • HP Laserjet 1200 print settings

I have acquired the LJ 1200 and force them to change the print density of 3 to 5 settings and the height of 10-12. I was delivered with a CD1 [N° C7044-60132 ver. 6] and tried to download it to my computer Dell Optiplex GX280 using XP. When I look in start-> Control Panel-> I see HP Laserjet 1200... Under Tools, I see 'Uninstaller', but there is no indicator giving any MB of software installed!

More I can't find any Configuration of device on the CD utility.

I have the correct CD that comes with the printer or is it a CD2?

BTW: I can't use this printer, if I do not change the print settings because I intend to use this computer/printer using BACK 6.2 and Wordstar and Foxbase [for back]. The LJ1200 is a replacement of a HP Laser lllp that worked wonderfully [it has now made the soul] and automatically prints the reports created in Foxbase [with the supplied generator] in point 17. The LJ1200 is printing in 10 points and while in WS, you can set the printing code withiin a document I do not know if you can in Foxbase.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

  • LaserJet 1200: Laserjet 1200 printer drivers / Windows 10

    Greetings,

My HP Laserjet 1200 worked properly without any problem when I downloaded and installed Windows 10 (64 bit) in early November 2015.  I upgraded to Windows 7.  16 December 2015, there was an important 10 Windows update that is automatically installed on my system.  The Setup takes about half an hour or more.  After installation and restarting, the printer would not print.  The printer prints a test page if I hit the button on the printer.  However, there seems to be no communication between the computer and the printer.  The Laserjet Printer is a former model of 2002 and is connected via a parallel port.  I tried in vain to install new drivers on the HP site and have exhausted all other troubleshooting provided tools.  I've not seen this issue addressed on the Forum.  It was suggested that we put security update 12/16 may have eliminated the ability to connect via a parallel port.  Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.  Look forward to having to buy a new printer when this one works perfectly well!

    Shortyccg

With a parallel port, it is a known problem with the latest update of windows 10.  Go to Device Manager and in the tab change the Port settings to "never use an interrupt" to one of the other options.

  • LaserJet 1320: Print multiple copies

Regardless of the number of copies I specify to print on my Laserjet 1320, it will only print one copy. I use Word 2010, Windows 8.1

I suspect that the following is the case:

    • Your document is a MultiPage document (i.e. not just a single page).
    • You select that copies be printed "collected" (e.g. pages 1,2,3,..., 1, 2, 3,..., 1, 2, 3,...) rather than "not assembled" (i.e. pages 1,1,1,..., 2, 2, 2,..., 3, 3, 3,...).
    • The driver assumes that the printer can produce multiple copies of a source only copy - this is known as ing MOPY(I think it stands for "copy of the original multiple").
    • But the printer does not function MOPY - usually this is only available if the printer has a hard drive or a large RAM disk - I do not think that the LJ1320 supports one of these.

You can confirm that the foregoing occurs by:

    • "Capture" a print job to a file (using the option "print to a file" in the print Word dialogue or sample driver
    • Then examing initially file resulting .prn (you should be able to open it in Notepad).
    • Most of the file can be unintelligible, but initially will look like:

If the command SET QTY is there, this confirms that the driver think the printer will make copies.

If so, check the settings of the device to the printer:

to check whether or not the system thinks that a hard disk is installed on the printer, and Mopier mode is enabled or not.

If the disk hard printer is set to installed, change to not installed.

If the Mopier Mode is set to Enabled, change it to disabled.

Then repeat the tests to see if it makes a difference.

He should do it, although the print jobs sent to the printer will be larger (they will contain several copies).

  • LaserJet print several copies on Windows 8

Regardless of the number of copies printed, I pray, it displays only one at a time. Using Word 2010. I am running Windows 8.1 and the printer is a PCL5 1320.

The START button returns with Windows 8.1; Classic Windows 8 interface; and
    future Windows 10.
Interface of METRO - go into settings for printers.

Devices and printers is good area for changes to the installation.

PDF ABS v400 driver is not a physical hardware printer, is the ability to allow you to convert a MS Word document by 'printing' in an Adobe PDF file.

Under devices and printers, you should see an icon/Image printer HP (1320) or
the universal (Image/icon) HP PCL driver for HP printers.

    Reviews of HP.
NOTE: The printer PCL6 driver continued to have some difficulty printing multiple copies from applications of accounting to the HP LaserJet 1320 printer after the activation of the advanced printing features.
Print with the HP postscript (PS) emulation printer driver and enabling advanced features printing has solved this problem in these cases.

  • M1217nfw give up wireless, print several copies via AirPrint

I recently installed a M1217nfw all-in-one for my boss. We had two questions.

The first: while the device will connect correctly to the WiFi at the start, if it does not any print job it seems about to lose the connection in 10 minutes. The printer is still on, but the connection light starts flashing and no work can be sent to the printer is restarted.

    • printer is about 6 feet of the wireless router, which works OK for other devices
    • printer has the latest firmware
    • Timeout on printer is set for 120 min
    • router WiFi is an ASUS RT-N56U with a WPA network

The second: when on the network, the printer works very well with the MacBook, but printing from an iOS device is a little too successful. Printer can be acquired via AirPrint, but will not leave the print job and print repeatedly until that quit on the iPad or the iPhone. (see this issue of forum of Apple). Seems to be something new with the new firmware + iOS6.

    Thank you

    Chris

For the first problem, try setting a static IP address on the printer. Which should prevent the impression to lose the Wi - Fi connection is quite as easily. I'll link a document below to help you with that. The second problem is being researched. I'll come back to you on this subject after knowledge what happens with that. Let me know what happens with the static IP address.

Printer keeps no connection Wi - Fi

Step 6 in the above-linked document is one that has a static IP configuration steps, but the other steps can help as well. Make sure that you set the DNS Google public DNS static public (Preferred = 8.8.8.8: Alternate = 8.8.4.4).
