Printer does not print blue.  Instead, it prints a violet/purple color.  Have installed all new ink cartridges, ran allignments and clean print heads at infinity.  No error is ever given.  After cleaning heads print page of test result for the blue color is better, but never like other color and still does not print right.  At the back (6 years) replaced the Cyan and Magenta Printhead and worked OK until last September.  The printer is out of warranty.  What gives?

    Hi mlhealth,

I understand that you have an Officejet 8000 (A809a), which is not right blue print. I'm sorry to hear that, but I'll do my best to help you!

I suggest you only start manually clean your print heads, see if you can remove any gunk/build-up extra cleaning automated have missed.

If it still is not printing cyan correctly, please take a look through this Resolution of the problems of print quality to ensure that you have tried everything suggested.

You can also check the date of warranty on your printhead to see if she still has everything in coverage options.

Hope this helps, have a nice day!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8000: installation of the driver wireless Officejet 8000 Pro says default gateway is 0.0.0.0

I'm chasing a well-documented problem of my printer lost network connection after a variable period of printing to do not. The only way to connect is to change the power supply, but the printer may take 5 minutes to blow and grunts until it settles and prints...

I put a static IP address on the printer (10.0.0.250) as well as an empty default gateway successfully, and the documents are printed after 5mins of blowing and grunting (save the regular lost connection which I'm hunting...).

I put what I thought has a static IP address on the router to match (see image below), but now I don't know if it was necessary, and if the 'hosting of the fixed DHCP server' is correct. It might be useless and missleading...

Using the configuration of the printer to 10.0.0.250 interface, it seems to accept the installation of the network when the default gateway is blank. With the help of 10.0.0.2 caused the 'page not found' error in my browser (Chrome).

However, when you try to reinstall the drivers, the installer has grumbled to the default gateway is set to 0.0.0.0, which currently is the only way it will work...

The Win7 PC is plugged into the router.
The printer wireless to the router.

ipconfig on the pc gives Ethernet card details below.

So basically I have no idea what I'm doing...!

    ==============

Ethernet connection to the Local network card:

    The connection-specific DNS suffix. :
    Link-local IPv6 Address...: fe80::c8e1:63ef:85e0:7 24% 13 c.
    IPv4 address...: 10.0.0.249
    ... Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0.
    ... Default gateway. : 10.0.0.2.

    Router config.

Thank you for your comments. It seems that I solved the problem of the default gateway. Time will tell if the remains of the printer connected through long periods of no use (see update below).

It seems that the configuration of the router of the "DHCP fixed existing host" has nothing to do with the device assigned a static IP address. In fact, it seems that this setting prevents the printer through a default gateway of the router address.

I noticed that when you give the PC a fixed IP, it connected through the router without any other configuration of router. If I reasoned that it may be applied to the printer also, so I moved the printer 10.0.0.251 and Bingo! the default gateway can be set to the IP address of the route.

Since then I downloaded to other updates, which is supposed to correct the common problem of wireless printers, loss of the connection.

I'll try to report in the next few weeks an update about the stability of connection network printers.

    UPDATED: May 23, 2016

And more of the foregoing, my router support suggested I increase a parameter "timeout" from 24 hours to 10 days. I did it more than a week. Today, the printer worked after the impression of not for about 5 days

    Thanks for the great instructions.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8000 prints multiple pages of the same document

    Info:

    HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809a

    Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

Last driver and firmware from HP

When a job is sent to the printer (web, Word, Acrobat, etc.) the printer keeps printing multiple pages of the document.  Sometimes it will print the first page and a second partial page, then it reprinted again and stop at the same place on the partial page.  She does over and over again.  I ran the HP Diagnostic Utility and it was impossible to print a test page, even after turning the power on power off, then on.   Any suggestions, or is * another * bad printer?  The first was sent and replaced, so I think that this model is just a lemon.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't work.  I tried to reinstall the driver altogether package three times with no result.  I ran the utility programs that supposedly allows you to solve problems, but public services could not even to generate a test page.

It seems that I finally found a solution, however.  I installed an older driver for MS Vista 64-bit, and that seemed to do the trick.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8000 double-sided printing will not respond to the control software #2

    Win XP Pro SP3

    OfficeJet Pro 8000 Wireless

Does anyone know why Officejet Pro 8000 had control of double-sided printing, removed from the spec software?

Does anyone know if there is a printer of this type which will respond to such control?

    UPDATE!

    ----------

This printer is now works very well with total control on duplex printing. But how did this happen...?

Two things have changed - well, maybe three.

But first of all to mention another very annoying problem: wireless printer to my network connection always collapsed which was a double nuisance (23/06/2016 see also installing the driver wireless Officejet 8000 Pro says default gateway is 0.0.0.0)

The road to happiness... I've finally updated my PC to a laptop HP Win7 (there is a problem with the laptop, but that's another story...)

During the process of setting up laptop, I had to set up the network and add the printer. In between aid was a FAQ something like "the wirless connection drops regularly." What interested me.

The fix was so simple - mychosen IP address has always been in the DNS range which was probably not very smart, but I didn't know any different. No one had ever mentioned before.

The idea is to select an address in the static range IE outside the DNS. So I took a number x.x.x.249 and bingo!, a solid and reliable connection that is always there.

Given the new laptop for download the drivers again. What went well and of course, the new machine is much faster.

Anyway after a few tries, much to my delight I discovered that two-sided printing worked with auto rotation if I check the box. Printing a document like that I would see in portrate (horizontal spine) and read down the two pages, turn to the next page and the same thing at the end of the document. Or, if you use the rotation of non - normal mode - the printing orientation is 'normal '.

It's a shame that it was necessary to buy a new laptop with a new o/s just to discover the problem by chance...

Printer has begun to take ages to complete power self test (anything from 5 to 20 minutes). Then, despite having installed a new ink cartridge black, black was very scratched. Bought and installed a new head printing (yellow/black) then after the long POST printer tried to print the alignment page. About halfway through the printer utility reported that the printer has gone offline and ALL the lights in the front of the printer have been intermittently at around 5 Hz that is very quickly. Only way out of this situation is to restart. Then, once the power is restored, the cycle repeats ad nauseam...

Printer utility does not have any status for the K/Y printhead report only the M/C a. This was true before I replaced the K/Y head. Also, having replaced the Magenta Cyan & empty cartridges VERY recently, they are reported as almost. Where is the ink? Certainly not on any paper!

After following the troubleshooting page HP for this printer the next thing to try is the "service the printer" which, I learned, is out of warranty.

So, can I lift the heap of junk in a dumpster and buy a Canon or Epson or is there a way to track who is not going to make me become insolvent? I have all new ink cartridges on the set that I hesitate to install as I can, just be able to get a refund.

    Hmmm...

This whole issue came to a head. I removed the paper tray and the duplex unit to have a really good look for fragments of paper in the path. I tilted the printer back to have a look at the below to see how it would be easy to disassemble the whole shebang. Ink started flowing from the well on the right side of the printer under the additional cover. I noticed that it seemed to be an excessive amount of ink in there, but was surprised by the volume which has poured on the Chair I had put the printer on and the floor! So, now I know where he had gone all contained in two cartridges 940XL ink!

I have so much invested in supplies for this printer that it is actually cheaper for me to buy a new printer DeskJet 8000 switch printers. After this example me has lasted 3 years so to the Sub £150 is almost an element of 'disposable '. In the case of the former it is actually disposable as the inside of the printer is now saturated with ink.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8000 Wireless: Can I get some help here? Yellow ink will not print - HP OfficeJet Pro 8000 Wireless

No matter what I do, ink yellow does not print, or stops at halfway printing on the page. I use genuine HP cartridges. There is a lot of ink - in fact, I just installed a new cartridge in the case where a previous (almost complete) was defective. No change. The pipe is not pinched. I flashed the firmware more recent and installed all drivers and utilities updated. I have cleaned the print heads over and over again and even took and cleaned according to the instructions.

I think it was a sign that the printer is worn EXCEPT - just a few months ago, magenta and black stopped printing. These are the opposite printheads. When I uninstalled every bit of HP software I could find, the printer back to normal!

The only thing I did not - it is the HP Toolbox argues that it is impossible to establish two-way communication with the printer. The patches for this involve get under the desk to play with the power cord and USB cable (even if it is a wireless printer), and my arthritic knees that make a very delicate operation. Two-way communication IS enabled.

I'm about to start crying. I fought with this market a week, when the yellow all of a sudden went - once again, * most * of the time, but sometimes it prints to maybe an inch of the image before disappearing. Help!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8000 - guard alignment page printing

I had trouble with black ink print does not correctly so after several cleanings I decieded to manually clean the print head. I took the printhead of the printer then whipped cream, the part where the ink comes out with a most paper towle. After that I put the print head in the printer prints a print alignment page. Ok. Now, every time I have print whatever it is that the printer will be after the print job is printing another page of alignment. Is there a way to stop? Thanks for your help.

    Hello TheDeerSlayer,

When you clean the print heads, you should try to not clean the part where ink is coming out of it (nozzles). It is very easy to damage them and if it happened, most likely the only way to solve the problem is to replace the print head. There are two things, you might try to see if you can get the print head working properly again: first thing is to clean the sensor that checks the nozzles. It is located on the right side of the printer at the bottom of the area in which the cart moves, it looks like a strip of metal which is only visible when the transport is located on the side more to the right of the printer. Be sure to use a cloth moistened with cold water. What you might try if this does not solve the problem and the nozzles are just clogged with ink and not really damaged, is to heat water (almost boiling point) and then soak the part of the printhead whith the nozzles in the water for some time. Let the printhead to dry and then install again and see if it works now.

This picture is of you can location of the sensor that checks the print head nozzles. The image is not so great and is an another printer, but it is located in the same place on Officejet Pro 8000.
