    Hi Bill,

My mistake, I forgot that your laptop is a slot player.

You should find that any store computer will store a disc, which you can load into the reader who will perform the cleanup - the disc itself was fine on brushes that will clean the lens.  The only point I want to emphasize, is to make sure that when you ask one of these discs, make sure what you say it's for portable optical drive as some are not suitable for the drives in the computer.

    Hello

I have a serious problem with my DVD player.

I don't know what the problem is.

I went on the internet and found no solution.

    Please help me.
It is not a software problem, because my laptop does not start the DVD, but due to the CD...

    Hello

The issue could be linked to the anomaly of the player's laser lens.
Maybe the lens can not handle the DVD because of a physical constraint.
In most cases, the lens can not calibrate properly and therefore different media would not work.
In this case there is not much to do in most of the cases that the drive needs to be replaced.

But maybe you could try to clean the drive s laser lens using a cleaning professional who could be bought from the other computer dealers.
I don't very well if this will help but it s worth to try m

  • After downgrading from Vista Satellite L30-101 does not read DVD

    Hey,.

Like many people, I didn't like Vista and so returned to the use of Windows XP.

In doing so, I lost a lot of things like the ability to watch DVDs and sound, most of these problems fixed so easily by downloading the drivers from this site.

However, even after the DVD driver download I can't read DVDs yet.
When you try to play through Windows media player I get say error message that I did not have a MPEG-2 decoder, in the section web site help, it suggests where to get one, but you have to play for each other.
After having one in the first place, I don't think I should buy a new one.

If anyone has a solution it would be greatly appretiated if they could let me know.

    Thank you

    PS I have a Satellite L30-101

I think you have a codec problem, but I'm not sure. Maybe you should install the latest version of Media Player and codec Xvid, DivX and AC3. These are free (google it!). Or you can try alternative software, such as WinDVD or PowerDVD, you can try the demo versions.

  • Pavilion a6220n does not read DVD but CD ok

But just in time, I noticed that he doesn't read or write DVD, work of the fine conference.

I'd like to get this fixed first as in order to move to W7, I will have the DVD player works as it should read the file from W7 ISO located on a DVD-R.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver, also deleted down filters, no help.

I also restored the Factory Default Vista and still it will not read the DVD.

When I insert the DVD just, it is there and does nothing, when I click on the DVD drive in my computer it ejects the disc saying

"Please insert a disk in the drive.

I tried several different discs DVD, DVD - R and DVD - RW, same problem.

These DVD drives work fine on other computers.

    ================================================

You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burning and)
Playback of CD and DVD). So it is not unusual for parts from 1 or 2 to not work so that others do
    correctly.

    A CD/DVD cleaner might help.

    ------------

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive

  • Since the reinstall drivers, my LG DVD writer does not read DVD

Original title: LG ELECTRONICS LG GSA T40N Super Multi DVD IDE burner

I had to re - install the drivers on this drive and then I noticed that there is more to read the DVD. This drive will now appear as a CD-ROM read only by car. When I tried to roll back the driver, the option was not available. Re-installing the drivers did not help and when I went to the LG site the disc has been abandoned and no support was available.

How can I get this drive to read DVDs? What is the problem with the drivers that I have updated to what makes them to record the album as a CD-ROM drive?

I used to have Windows XP on my laptop. I then decided to do a fresh install of Vista. Since I've upgraded to Vista, I put a DVD, then it asks me to "Please insert the disc in drive E". I have the latest firmware and have obtained the Windows drivers.

I really need my DVD player so I can watch movies on a holiday. Any help appreciated

    Hello!

The sound of it, looks like a hardware problem but on the other hand as you say that the problem has occurred after that you installed Vista. For this, there are very less reasons. but you can try the following, if it works.

    1. go in Device Manager, click on the dvd/cd rom drives and do a right-click of your player, click on uninstall and then you restart. The reader will be installed again when you restart. get a disc cleaner for dvd lens and clean you drive with it.

If the first did not help

    2. If you can do it yourself its good else take your laptop to a Mech and tell him to remove the drive and start the computer. then stop it and install the drive into the slot, tighten the screw and start your computer. This could help.

    on the other

    3. check if you insert a dvd does show all of the data at all? If another player gains a firend or ask Mech. install another drive and check it works.

("I know there are tons of posts on this topic, but I found no relavent t my needs")

I have an ASUS A2500D with a Toshiba SD-R6112 drive. It worked very well until about 2 days ago, when I reformatted my hard drive after getting corrupted. When I got the laptop a few years back that he had the same problem and I managed to fix it but who were long ago and I had my PC set up pefect, now im stuck from scratch.

His shows high DVD - RW drive (D :) in the my computer menu.
When I right click and go to properties, it appears as
    Type: CD player
    File system: unknown
Then when I head into the material click on ' Toshiba DVD - ROM SD-R6112.
and head into the properties and DVD Region it is stuck on "Region 4.
I try to change it to 'Région 1', but I get a message saying "unable to update region setting. Please make sure the drive contains a region 1 media and you have admin privilege.
I tried the Firmware and I wasn't sure of what I had to do with him and I also found an update from Toshiba for the reader. Anyone have any detailed ideas?

Also found that when I was in 'Material' he came like that
    Location of IC25N060ATMR04-0 (0)
    Toshiba DVD - ROM SD-R6112 location (1)
Not sure if this will help?

    Hello

First this from Toshiba CD/DVD drive has been installed in NON-Toshiba notebook.
So if something is bad mind your material, you should contact the laptop manufacturer support.

Also the firmware of CD/DVD drives should be published by laptop manufacturer.
Here on the European driver Toshiba page you find a firmware for this CD/DVD player.

Finally, in my view, that the area code has changed, already 5 times and now it's not possible to change more. The setting is fixed!
