My iPad keeps disconnecting my wifi network

My iPad 32 gigabit wifi with iOS 9.3.1 Pro keeps on disconnecting from my wifi network. From time to time I connect it disconnects just randomly and sometimes it makes me even to make the password again. I don't think it happens by other networks, but I don't know because I don't really bring my iPad too. Please help me fast! Thank YOU, a proud lover of Apple Inc..

This started to happen to me recently too, I have the iPad Pro for about a month. It may be the 9.3.1. Update. It's apparently only happening on my home network and my Netgear R7500 (the worst tech purchase I made) is notoriously bad on the network of 5 GHz because of the chip Quantenna barely supported, which was abandoned by Netgear, shortly after the release, and as soon as they could they have released a R7500v2 with another type of chip for the 5 GHz band.

So, I don't know who is to blame, it's probably a combination of both. I also have problems with this router and my Nexus 6 p, but apparently not with my other devices (iPad, iPod Touch gen mini retina 6, iPhone SE and Nexus devices). The difference with disconnects on the N6P is the phone disconnects and reconnects, the iPad Pro reconnect and exactly like you, sometimes it asks for the password again.

  • 5th generation AE extension network keeps disconnecting

My WiFi network consists of two extremes of the Airport (the two 5th generation).  One is connected by Ethernet to a modem cable in my house.  The 2nd is located in my studio, a separate building; the two AEs are about 75 feet apart with a couple of walls between them.  The 2nd unit in the studio is implemented to expand my network.   I have several macs on the network, all running El Capitan; also, a couple of iPad and an iPhone, several printers, etc.

For a long time, everything worked fine; but for the last month or two, the AE in the studio which extends the network disconnects and to blink yellow.  I found that the only way to fix is to pull the plug, then go to the House and pull the plug on the main AE and the modem cable.  Then I plug the cable modem back, then the main AE and finally the 2nd AE extending into the studio.   This restores all for a day or two, and then the studio AE stops again.

The main AE and internet connection in the home is always very good. Sometimes, indeed, my wi - fi devices on in the workshop will always have an internet connection even when the AE there disconnects, because they are still in the range of the main EI in the House.  The problem is, I have an ethernet switch connected to the AE in the studio with several hanging devices, and I lost all these connections when the problem occurs.

Can anyone help diagnose this?  The only thing I've tried is to restore the default settings on the 2nd AE in the studio and then re-setting up to expand my network again.  It seems to work for awhile, but the same problem will occur later.  I'd appreciate any help anyone could offer.

My experience is about the same. I was actually very happy with the Setup program for a long time... It was necessary the occasional blow to wake up but who said a week. In terms of reliability wireless on household appliances, all right. But as time passed, it slowly grew worse and I couldn't solve the problem. I have now stopped doing this way and went to a different brand Repeater that is much more reliable.

IMHO... you need something better than the wireless extension. Seriously for your configuration to run ethernet. Separate the building, you will need to check your local regulations for the grounding of issues. The authorities may insist on the use of the fibers, but if you can bury the ethernet or run a catenary so I always this way.

If your studio is run from home without a counter power, you can also use EOP (homeplug) adapters that can be very successful. Once the power is measured so you have no common circuit so it won't work... It is always an experience if they will work.

So, how to solve the problem... If you are not able to use ethernet, fiber, or EOP or not in a situation where they can work, so let me recommend you run a dedicated wireless link. You need a pair of appropriate external units, e.g. ubiquiti 5 GHz WAP where we're connected in your home via ethernet to the outside wall or in a window where you can see the studio and the other is also the same... facing windows is ok, you can use face to face... If not, they must be installed outside under the eaves.

For now... Let me make some suggestions for your pair of AE. This might work better in the short term, but not in the long term.

    1. use 7.6.1 firmware. It of always better for me than to use 7.6.4 and was reproducible...

To change the firmware, do appear on the summary page, click the version number with the down option. You will see a list of possible versions.

    Simply choose 7.6.1 (nobody else)

Do a factory reset once it degrades and start over. Do it now while both are available. Studio first that she still has the connection lower.

    2. There are too many auto in the installation program. Set specific channels and name the bands differently. It is of course in your main AE.

for example, by using very short names, without spaces and pure alphanumeric characters. Even for the passwords but characters 8-20...

2.4 ghz to say the value... Set of 5 GHz to say AE5ghz and AE24ghz.

Put the string in 2.4 ghz 9 and 5 GHz 36 or what is the lowest channel available.

    3. now install the studio one and are trying to use 5 GHz. It may not work, as the range might be too big... but even with the bad signal, you should be able to see a clear improvement in stability with 5 GHz. If it doesn't work, well, you must use the 2.4 ghz... and now a few funny things will happen as the 5 GHz in the studio will get 5 GHz named AE24ghz... don't worry about this... all part of the fun.

    4. keep track of signal and the speed of the link. Utility v6, you can hover your mouse over the link where it is said well. (Don't even bother if the link says not as good).

Notice the link is located on 5 GHz... as suggested I forced to one, the signal level is low, - 79dBm is much lower than I like, but the connection speed is far superior to any link 2.4 GHz and was much more stable.

Now, let me suggest as the best way to keep track of what happens is to install a utility airport v5 somewhere on your network... even in a windows or machine dual boot a parallels... There are tricks to install even in El Capo. The reason is that you can get a graphical view of the binding of the two ends.

This is the screenshot of the link... and by using the MAC address of the two units I can follow what is happening.

But in the end, it became too unreliable... I think that the AE (mix with equivalent TC in my case) just wore out. Wireless signal in routers seem to be deteriorating over time...

My new Setup is complete one until I run ethernet. I got the hand on a cheap AC router that makes universal Repeater... and it works very well.

Much more poor in a perspective of network... but better reliability point of view.

    Driver = date 25/11/2013

    Driver = 5.0.37.0

The situation is like this... I have an ADSL + router to iBall Baton and I had kept initially named as 'Deep' (without the quotes).

Day 1, I had kept the "SSID Broadcast" to "Hidden" parameters so that no one will be able to connect to my WiFi network automatically. It worked great as I entered manually information WiFi my Samsung Tab 2. Now on the 1st night when I tried to connect my laptop, I found that it showed 'Hidden network', I clicked on it and entered the details and the net connected via WiFi.

It was really good, I thought.

Day 2, My Tablet will connect automatically but when I turned on my laptop Wifi it wasn't unable to catch or connect with the hidden network. So, I started displaying the name of the WiFi network. And reconnected both my tablet as my laptop HP 15-r036tu.

Day 3, I turned on my WiFi... Tablet instantly connected to the WiFi network while the WiFi of my Netbook just couldn't... So I changed the name of the WiFi via the modem settings. Tablet reconnected to the new name of WiFi settings... Done the same with the laptop. Worked great.

Day 4, today! I don't know everything, just not that hell will not with my laptop, but just, it does not detect my WiFi network. So now that I have to again change the name of my network and then reconfigure all my other gadgets just because my laptop cannot detect the WiFi? Surprisingly, he catches the other WiFi networks around my house except mine!

    Need help! Help, please!

    Hello Swayam_Das,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you are having connectivity problems with your wireless network. It seems strange that you are able to view other connections network wireless, but not able to see your own. This tells us that there must be some sort of gap between the wireless card and your specific router.

He also seems to be an update of your wireless network card drivers. You will find them here: MediaTek (Ralink) 802.11 Wireless LAN (WLAN) adapter.

Let's try to keep things a bit:

    • Is there a firewall enabled in the router?
    • Have you tried running on another channel broadcast rather than hide the name of the network? (See why, here: How to boost your WiFi by choosing speed the way on the right)
    • You check the box connect automatically when you connect to the network? (I know it sounds silly, but never hurts to ask).
    • Your operating system is up-to-date with important updates?
    • Have you tried to reset the TCP/IP stack? (see below)
    • Have you tried to reset the winsock catalog? (see below)

If you have reset the TCP/IP stack and winsock catalog follow these steps:

    1. Go to your home screen with all the fancy tiles. (Press the Windows key)
    2. Type "cmd" without the quotes.
    3. Right-click on the application from the command prompt and choose Run as administrator.
    4. At the command prompt, type netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt , and then press on enter.
    5. Type netsh winsock reset , and press ENTER.

After doing this, you must restart your computer.

Once you have completed all the steps above, it would also help to remove all the networks that your laptop is trying to hold back, to get a fresh start. To do this:

    1. Go to your start screen.
    2. Type 'network settings' without the quotes.
    3. Click network connection settings in the list of results.
    4. On the Connections tab, on the left, choose Manage known networks.
    5. Click on each network listed, and then click Forget.

Now, log on to your network, reboot and tell me if he reconnects automatically.

Can I connect my HP4625 all in one directly on my ipad/iphone without using a wifi network. ?

    Hi xxtopgunxx,

It is possible that we can get the printer to disseminate its own network. Please note that the network will broadcast the printer will not have access to the internet.  Please follow the steps below:

    • On the front panel of the printer, please press the wireless button
    • By using the buttons on the right, highlight and select wireless settings
    • Highlight and select Restore Defaults
    • Select Yes. A message appears indicating that the default values of the network have been restored
    • Open your application settings on your Apple device, please
    • Please click on wifi and choose the network that starts with "HP-SETUP.  This should connect to your Apple device to the printer
    • Now you should be able to print using the 'Action' icon.  If there is not a print option when you press the action icon following all guidelines for Apple AirPrint

If you go to print and your Apple device does not see the network, you will need to follow the procedure again. It should be at least 60 minutes before the HP - Setup network ceased broadcasting.

  • Apple TV keeps forgetting password wifi

    Hi all

I bought a 4th gen Apple TV for my living room, and I it was perfect, no problem. I got another one for another room and I had no end of trouble with it.

It is closer to the router as my other ATV but it keeps down the wifi connection and sometimes it comes randomly "forgets" the wifi password, and I have to enter it again. On one occasion, he refused to accept the password on the attempts of a lot, a lot, so I did a thorough cleaning and a reinstallation of TVOS. It was OK for a couple of uses but has now begun to drop out of school and forget the wifi connection.

When he's not working, it shows 5 bars on the signal strength and my iPad works perfectly on a full, sitting next to signal. It's very, very annoying.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you!

Implement the resolution of the basic problems and share the locations of those present of the ATV.  If the problem is a problem in the living room and lounge we work in the room of the problem, return the problem immediately for a replacement unit.  If the problem the appliance becomes very well in its new spot and ideal becomes a problem in the new spot, exclude from the ATV and focus on the network.

  • Laptop keeps disconnecting the connection but not others

I have two laptop computers Toshiba Satellite A300D and A500-13F and a new Linksys WRT120N router. A300D has an Atheros AR9281 wireless network adapter, while A500 has Intel(r) WiFi Link 5100 AGN, and both have Vista 32. It's the A500 which keeps disconnect the connection, it's as if it keeps restarting from the router. It will do this every few minutes and I can't do anything normally on the internet.

I tried to do something but nothing works. Updating the drivers for the adapter on the A500 does not resolve the issue, although A300D works normally without updates, so there must be something wrong with the adapter on the A500. I also have sellected maximum performance in Power Options > change plan settings > change advanced power settings > wireless card settings, because I read somewhere that energy-efficient settings can interfere with the adapter. I thought that this solution worked until he started to lose and by restoring the link again. Everyone guess what else could be wrong? I generally know how to fix things, but the wifi is a new thing for me and don't know much.

Yes, in this scenario, this could be the problem with the adapter. Then I suggest that you contact the hardware vendor.

  • iTunes crashes if its wifi network does not have access to the internet

    Hi all.

I'm running a 13 "mac book pro with OS X El Capitan.

I have a very specific problem of iTunes which is really bugging me.  I'm a pro saxophone player and part of my job is performed as a soloist with playbacks on my mac.  To avoid having to walk to the mac to start the track to accompany each song, I use a tablet on a stand that I can place anywhere in the room.  I've set up a router next to the mac that the mac and the tablet of connect to, and I run "retune" on the Tablet (I think it's that his name) which is a wifi iTunes remotely.  Installation is really smart cos he allows me to choose new avenues of selection from anywhere in the room instead of walking back and forwards to the mac every time.

The problem I have is that sometimes maybe (1 to 5 times), I have a real problem from iTunes when the mac is connected to a wifi network that has no real internet connection.  I'm sure that iTunes detects wifi connection and then tries to access the internet to connect with the store.  When he is not in the store it just crashes and I get the spinning wheel of death.  Most of the time, I can simply restart the program several times and finally he decided to play ball, but it's a real pain.  And I did a concert yesterday where he would not have enough, no matter what I did.  If I had no choice but to turn off the router and keep walking to the mac for each song.

I can't find a setting anywhere on iTunes that can disable the connection to the store and I really am stuck.

I also tried alternative programs (I used Clementine briefly but I just found it too flakey to be invoked) and so I am open to others suggests.  But I need a player who has a remote app that I can use on my tablet.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I use an older version of iTunes and in the preferences a lot, I can disable Store, Radio, sharing services, probably genius if I got it. Check all your preferences settings including those you think don't matter such as parental preferences (this is where the store is hidden on mine).  Realize also that iTunes has turned into a simple multimedia player to a 75% of sales and marketing as well as the do-it-all tool (aka bloatware) try too many at once and developers can't even imagine someone (i.e. the daily target user) use it without Internet.  Add on that you try to use an application to control iTunes and something like that is likely to misbehave, willy nilly whenever Apple launches an update.

Don't forget with wi - fi you are subject to interfering signals other wi - fi services in the region or the stage equipment.
