I tried to update my Lightroom CC to get the menu effects and fog. Once I did nothing worked! No Lightroom or Photoshop I chatted with adobe online assistance and she finally got both working again but had to wipe everything and reinstall. Now I sometimes have a 'demo' of Photoshop and the same version of Lightroom CC without de-haze. - Sign in to creative cloud.
- Disconnect from the Internet.
- Try to use Lightroom and check if you get a trial version.

Whenever I have shut down my computer it detects 2 updates. I checked the updates of Windows and it seems to be the same ones every day. And they did so why they keep needing to be updated? I am running Vista 64 bit.
I got a ToolTip hovering over my close icon that said Shut Down and install updates. So I clicked it, noticed there are several updates to install and walked off to go do something else while it has been updated. After it updated, it will turn off. Now when I hit the power button to turn the PC on his saying to check my boot device or change my startup location and press a key to continue. I tried to use my vista cd to retrieve and repair the safe mode, but it does not find my hard drive!
I guess what I need to know is, in fact the process of update killed my hard drive? I can get it back without cracking open the case and replace my hard drive? And if I need to replace my HARD drive how can I recover my data?
