  -on EI, click Edit > purge >, then try to make it.

  -Restart ae, and then try again

  -preferably from memory and caches, clear all caches, and then try to make it.

  -restart the computer, and then try to ae.

  -Run disk utility (applications/utilities) and repair permissions.

  -remove the ae file (Users/username/Library/Preferences/adobe/after effects / version #/ adobe after effects (worm) Pref.)

  I saw a few forums suggesting removing the power and the battery and holding down the button for 30 seconds. I tried a few times and seems not to have had any effect.
