My laptop doesn't open in safe mode

My system was working fine with the exception of windows media player. I tried several solutions and thought it was an out-of-date driver. I signed up for Driver Detective which is suppose to check the system to see if all the drivers are outdated. Before I could register the program, I had to communicate with their technician. I did, and he led the program to update the drivers a couple - one was for the mouse and I don't know what the other was. He then scanned my system and advised I had 6954 errors and needed to contact his colleague to have them corrected. The sales pitch lasted 20 minutes with me, repeatedly declaring that I didn't want the service for $269. I told him to leave my system which he did, but the laptop only works in safe mode now.

I tried:
System Restore to previous dates, all to nothing does not.
Run the analysis of the system, but it stops at 78%, indicating that he could not go into safe mode. I found this as a possible solution on the internet.
I contacted Driver Detective and they advised to run their program again, because a driver was not installed correctly. However, when I did the system restore, I lost download software Driver Detective and it won't reinstall in safe mode, so I can't run yet. I can only communicate with these people by e-mail, so that the answers are very slow.
I think the Driver Detective technician, Julius Choudhury did something before getting out of my system, because I wouldn't buy their extended service. I already requested a refund for what they were supposed to do.

Hello

We know that they have done to your system.

And with Vista, you can not do a Repair Mode safe installation.

And as you cannot use the system restore you have very few options, even if it was safe to use.

EXAMPLE: This is how you try to get out of Safe Mode.

  1. Close all running programs and open the windows if you are back on the desktop.
  2. Click on the Start () button.
  3. In the search box of the Start Menu, type in msconfig
  4. Then press enter on your keyboard.
  5. The System Configuration utility opens
  6. Make sure that Start Selection is set for Normal start.
  7. Click the Startup tab.
  8. Make sure you start is not checked
  9. Press the apply button and then press the OK button.
  10. Click the restart button to restart your computer.

But thhese type programs, you're involved with are SCAMS.

Either these so-called "Microsoft" Tech companies want to sell you a worthless software, or remote access to your computer to try to steal your credit card and bank information and also achieve an identity theft on you.

You gave them remote access and if you do Internet banking, contact your bank, explain, and change passwords.

If you use your online credit card, cancel and get a new one issued to you.

And the only way that willl you know that you are free to them is to backup your data and do a clean install of your operating system.

They have done something illegal, as YOU have contacted him.

I suggest that you save your data and reinstall the operating system.

Use the following steps to start the system recovery:

http://Acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/A_ID/2631

  1. Restart the computer.
  2. When the Acer logo appears on the screen, press the left Alt and F10 keys.
  3. If you are prompted with a Microsoft Windows splash screen, press the Enter key.
  4. After that the Acer eRecovery Management application is loaded, select your type of restore.
  5. Read the review and then click Next when you are ready.
  6. Click next to start the restore process. Restoration can last from 10 minutes up to an hour.
  7. Once the recovery is complete your computer will load Windows and start the installation of your software and drivers. Your computer may restart several times during this process. Once they are all completed, your computer will be like it was when you bought it first.

If the steps above do not work, you will need to use recovery media to restore your system. If you don't have an Acer recovery media set, you can buy an online game

See you soon.

  • Could not open in safe mode; Impossible to uninstall ESET; Impossible to uninstall RegEdit

1 problem started trying to uninstall ESET antivirus.  Error message says that C:\Program Mechanic\Data\map.ddat Registry; C:\Program mechanic\DAta\values.dat Registry; and this: \Program Files\Registry mechanic\Data\keys.dat is missing and need to reinstall.  Don't know how to do this.  With this number, ESET says to uninstall in safe mode.

    2. for safe mode, by Windows F1 help, the "shut down" instructions say, select "restart and you select 'safe mode'.  I "turn off computer" but not "shut down" and have all the options to select Safe mode.  I tried several times to restart the computer and tapping F8 to open in safe mode.  It does not work.  By Windows, a virus may prevent it from working?   I don't know how to fix.

3 tried to uninstall Reg Edit (don't know where that came from).  Say unistall file error message is missing.  Don't know what to do.

Help, please.  I have no antivirus protection at the present time.  Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Reference error messages Registry Mechanic, which has nothing to do with the antivirus/ESET security products. Using a "cleaner" as Registry Registry Mechanic probably corrupted your computer. I don't know why you try uninstalling NOD32, but to switch to secure Mode, you must turn off your computer, and then restart it. As the computer restarts, repeatedly press the F8 key. That you will get the diagnosis menu where you can use your arrow to select Mode without failure.

I don't know what you mean by "Reg Edit" either, but my guess is that your computer is infected and that you or someone else using the computer installed all kinds of registry cleaners/optimizers garbage in a vain attempt to get it repaired. Uninstalling these programs and perform in-depth analysis of malware.

Go through these stages of systematically General malware removal:
    http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

Do not skip the preparatory work.

If you can't do the work yourself (and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea), take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad). Please be aware that not all shops are skilled at removing malware, and even if they are, your computer may be so infested that Windows will have to be properly installed. If possible, have all your data backed up before taking the machine into a shop.

The alternative is to backup your data and do a restore clean factory/install of Windows.

  • computer laptop freeze terribly - even in safe mode.

I received my new HP Pavilion in February and since I got it it has been freezing upwards. I can't leave it on for more than half an hour about without touching and it freezes. At first I thought I could deal with it, I used to treat difficult computers and I was just happy to have my own... but then he started to gel and from time to time when I tried to turn it back on it would lead me to a black screen with blue text saying that it doesn't even have an operating system. I let a little and restart it and suddenly windows would be back and it works fine. Frost continued, and then it started to freeze during this loading windows. I tried to restore the system to the last time a few times. Now it has arrived at the point where I can't turn without it freezing one minute after the Office has completely loaded. I don't even have time to open anything to try to find out what's wrong and he did this in each safe mode as well. I'm completely stuck on where to go from here. I don't know even how to restore to its original state if I can't even open the Control Panel before the laptop freezes on me. And I mean freezes. The mouse will not move, the screen does not change, the time does not change. I can't do something, but hold the power button to turn off.

I'm really desperate for help or I wouldn't be here. I read in forums for two days trying to find a solution... so here I am. Any help would be really appreciated.

    Hello

Well maybe it is the answer to your problem because an error 303 is a failure of the test short HDD - the only solution is to have the hard drive replaced.

You will need to contact HP and arrange for the laptop repaired under warranty.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

    Kind regards

    Hi R.Wharton,

1 are you face any problem while booting to the desktop?

    2. what happens when you try to boot to the desktop?

    3. do you get any error code or error message?

4 did you do any change on the computer before this problem?

Safe mode is an option of troubleshooting for Windows that starts your computer in a limited State. Only basic files and drivers needed to run Windows are started. I suggest putting the computer in a State of clean boot to safe mode and check what third party application/program is causing the problem.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: once you have completed troubleshooting, try the procedure described in step 7 to reset the computer to start as usual.

    Hello

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    • Click the menu button

      click Help

then select restart with disabled modules.

If Firefox does not work, you can start Firefox in Mode safe as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
    • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. This might help others with the same problem.
