    A Virtual Machine created the Volume share of Cluster (c:\Cluster storage\...)

    A network adapter dedicated to the management of server-> 10.0.1.11 (HV01) and 10.0.1.13 (HV02)

    A network card dedicated to Hyper v Virtual Machines-> 10.0.1.12 (HV01) and 10.0.1.14 (HV02) and allow networking option is disabled.

  • Migrate a CVD laptop to a desktop virtual machine

    Hi all

    first of all, sorry for my bad English, then, I have a laptop with windows XP and I want to do a "Hardware Migration" with the Mirage server on a virtual machine.

    But there is a problem, the virtual machine (which is located on a 6.0 VCenter), is considered to be a 'office machine' and Mirage send an error (in the photo).

    I can't ignore the problem, but the error come back when I need to restart...

    You have solutions, please.

    Thank you

    Thomas

    Hi Fabious,

    You're right, it is only a warning message.

    It was only a driver with a LSI card problem during migration, it is now resolved!

    Thanks for your response

  • I need to run a virtual machine, hyper v on my windows machine 8 with workstation 10

    I know that I can run a virtual machine in hyper v in v hyper customer, my question is if I turn the functionality hyper v on this will affect my 10 workstation install?

    As far as I know, that you can no longer start the vmx86 kernel driver once the HyperV role is activated.
    In previous HyperV versions that you could use a special startup parameter to disable the HyperV role for the next boot - so that you can run Workstation - but I don't know if it still works.

    So to summarize: HyperV and workstation cannot co-exist and be used one after the other - at the very least a reboot is required

  • Students who need assistance for a virtual machine to run on hyper-v inside vmware workstation 12

    OK sorry first time here. I am currently a student and I have windows running R2 server 2008 as a Workstation VM. I activated the Hyper-v technology and got of no problem, the question I meet is that when I go to start a virtual machine, hyper v, I get the error failed to initialize. Initially, I had a mistake before, who told me he failed because he would not score, I think I've fixed this error by changing the. VMX file. I need to be able to start these machines virtual hyper-v because I am doing some laboratories for a class. Ideas, suggestions or help would be appreciated.

    Thank you for taking the time to read. I have attached a few screenshots of the error.

    Your processor is a Haswell, that supports AVX.  This problem occurs because Windows Server 2008 R2 does not support the AVX feature. See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2517374 for a fix or a workaround.

  • Virtual machine created in XP Home is usable in Vista host?

    I currently have a desktop with XP sp2 to a host computer. (I'm downloading vmware server 2.0 from this moment. Hehehehe... New in this kind of technology). After that, I'll try to install it and create a virtual machine. Then I have a laptop (still has no OS installed, but intend to have Vista Business or Enterprise is installed). Because the server 2.0 does not support vista I plan to use vmware workstation 6.5 (in the manual, it says that it support vista as host system) and vmware player 2.5.

    Can vmware player 2.5 host vista system open and run the virtual machine I created in vmware server 2 in my XP sp2 host?

    As well as the license expired vmware workstation (I'll try the trial version), can I use and run the virtual machine, it was created before using vmware player 2.5? (I do not understand what they say I can't start the system or something when the workstation expires).

    Thank you for the help...

    Thristan wrote:

    OKS thanks, that was helpful but it does mean that I can not use this virtual machine with the help of vmware player only? (I still need to install vmware workstation or server while vmware player can access?). No, no reason to install Workstation.  Just install the stand-alone version of the player.  Player, however, has no tools/methods of creating or editing a virtual machine.  This part you must do it with another product VMware, or a 3rd party like my VMX Builder utility.

  • Get use of the resources of all virtual machines in a cluster

    Hello

    I have developed a measure of capacity management report that collects all the use of the resources of the virtual machines in a datacenter. The function that collects it looks like this:

    def hostMemoryConsumed =]

    def memoryConsumed = 0.0f

    def memoryGranted = 0.0f

    VMs. each() {}

    VM->

    try {}

    memoryConsumed += vm.host.memory.consumed.current.average / 1024.0f<----- how="" to="" do="" this="" to="" get="" from="">

    memoryGranted += vm.host.memory.capacity.current.average / 1024.0f

    }

    {} catch (NullPointerException e)

    }

    VMS is a function of type parameter VMS VMW

    The works above for virtual machines in the data center, but I need it to be after cluster. I can find a cluster of virtual machines, but I'm having trouble with referring to specific values for example consumed memory and capacity.

    If I change the type parameter: VMW Cluster how the metric reference would look like (see the try {})?

    I don't think that a query will help me.

    Thanks in advance

    Erik Alm

    If you want to do for a cluster, you can just get the list of virtual machines in a cluster of first and passing in your script.  If you have a function for a VMWCluster you can add a parameter for "vmwCluster" that is underneath and it should give you a table (topologyObjects) that has all the virtual machines in the cluster.

    QS = server.get ("QueryService") / / query Service

    tquery = qs.createStatement("!) (' VMWVirtualMachine where esxServer.parent.name = "+" ' "+ vmwCluster +" "" ") .setQueryTopologyObjects (true);

    topologyObjects = qs.executeStatement (tquery) .getTopologyObjects)

  • Software required to get the value of unused virtual machines

    Almost 300 more virtual machines are running in my organization. Now, I need to identify the virtual machines that are not in use last period of one month so that I can approach the resources of concern against their virtual machines and get confirmation to remove these unused host machine virtual machines.

    Help kindly pointed out what software can provide information required for the performance of house-keeping of the Virtual Infrastructure.

    You could try vCenter Operations Manager (vCOPs).  Who has the ability to produce various reports including the integrated 'Idle Virtual Machines' that looks at the VM CPU: % idle time, disk i/o i/o idle time and % idle time network.

    I guess it would be possible to do something with PowerCLi (Google can be your best friend with this well).

  • Cannot start a suspended virtual machine - impossible to find. VDMK

    Here's the situation.  I supported the package with the virtual machine using time capsule.  I got a serious problem and has decided to remove the virtual machine and return to the time capsule backup.

    Between making the backup and now VMWARE fusion doing an update.

    I can't start the restored VM.  He says he can't find the VDMK if referenced is there, is not corrupt and seems to be in good shape.

    So I thought I would just create a new virtual machine from the VDMK - or even add another virtual computer disk so I could pull some files needed from her.

    It does not work.  When choosing the VDMK - it is gray - and unselectable.

    Issues related to the:

    1. What can I do to get the virtual machine to start

    2. What can I do to ensure that I can select the VDMK and create a new VM from it if I'm not number 1?

    Thanks for any help - I'm quite sunk at this stage.

    Unfortunately, it seems that the 7 VM window is one of the hard data files ("Windows 7 - s010.vmdk") which I assume has a size between 1 and 2 GB missing! Please see if it's available in your backup.

    If this is not the case and you need to access the files on the virtual disk, create a new virtual machine, copy one of the newly created - s00x.vmdk files to the package Windows 7 VM and rename it to "Windows 7 - s010.vmdk. With this fact, or create a snapshot, and then try to turn on the computer virtual or not power on at all, but attach the virtual disk of the virtual machine to another / helper VM as a second drive to be able to access the files you need.

  • addition of virtual machine / Server esx for production environment

    Hello

    How can we add virtual machine or esx server for production environment?

    In general... As his "simple terms?

    Install ESXi host

    Install, run and connect to the host via the gateway client installed from the host on an external workstation

    Then

    OR THE OTHER

    Install and run the converter on each physical computer that you want to become a virtual machine

    Once finished, turn off power to virtual and physical.

    OR

    Create a virtual machine and install the o/s CD drive.

    What you want is way off the coast without 1 million questions about your installation.

  • Cannot ping or you connect to a virtual machine in ESXi 4.1

    Hello

    Subject: I'm using VMware Workstation 7.1.2 on my laptop to install ESXi 4.1 2 hosts, VCenter and virtual machines to create a training environment. Not the ideal situation, but budget restrictions prevail.

    Problem: cannot access any virtual machine created under ESXi hosts that have been created in Workstation 7.1.  Also, each internal virtual computer cannot access the internet or communicate with other external VMs created in Workstation 7.1.  However, all virtual computers outside created in VMware WS 7.1 can communicate with each other.

    Configuration:

    Asus laptop: Intel i3-350, 8 GB of RAM internal 500 GB, 500 GB WD USB drive

    computer laptop operating system: Ubuntu 10.04

    VMware Workstation 7.1.2 (Linux)

    Windows Server 2008 DC-64 VM (VCenter installed)

    ESXi 4.1

    I created two ESXi hosts and a virtual Windows Server 2008 computer, in my computer.  I installed the client in Windows Server 2008 VM and VCenter.  Each virtual machine can communicate with laptop computer and other virtual machines.  The real problem is that inside THAT VM created in ESXi running Workstation 7.1.2 cannot communicate with the internet, no other external virtual machines.

    Each external VM (those created in WS) network card is filled, and I tried to use VMXNET3, E1000, VMXNET2 (Enhanced) and Flexible for the VM inside (those created in ESXi host located in WS) type of adapter.  No luck.  The Virtual Machine port group and VMKernel port showing a connection to the physical adapter (vmnic0). I tried to reconfigure the settings of the virtual network editor too.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    first stop each virtual machine on your vmware workstation, enter the above command and then run those virtual machines.
