My Mac Pro 2013 will sleep is no longer

A month or there is my Mac Pro 2013 is no longer sleeps, even if I try to sleep it manually. I have enabled and changed the setting of Sleep/Power Nap in energy-saving.

I looked at the article Apple and that did not help. I have reset the SMC and booted without failure. I haven't changed any connected equipment or internal. The console log does not help me, but here's the most recent when I sleep manually it. I have bolded the line that started the sleep/low power mode and the line where it was released

  • Mac Pro (2013) will not wake up from sleep after that put 10.11.2 up-to-date

    Problem:

After that Mac Pro goes to sleep, keyboard and mouse enter don't wake him. Disconnect and reconnect the monitor will not help either. Unplug the monitor wouldn't be helped either. Hotkeys to stop will not help either. (I use Mac since 1986, so I know more tricks). The only thing I can do to start to use my Mac is again holding down the button of physical power for five seconds and make a hard stop.

    Background:

It is a problem that sometimes in the past. However, it is not reproducible and usually one of the steps above might work, such that unplug the monitor (a Dell 4 K 27 ") of the power supply and then plugging.

I use physically connected (USB) keyboard and mouse.

    Current state:

After the 10.11.2 system update last night, my Mac Pro shows this problem every time he sleeps.

He has already hit a critical delivery photography and currently affects a submission of work for the city.

    This is urgent.

Other users have reported the same problem after 10.11.2. I've not seen a solution

  • with 10.11.2, Mac Pro 2013 wakes up not 4 k shows up after sleep as before.

I installed 10.11.2 today and found that the Mac Pro wakes up not 4 screens connected to the thunderbolt ports k. I tried many kinds of 4 k screens, including u28e590d, u24e590d, p2716q etc., but none of them is waking up after sleep. the only resolution is to disconnect and reconnect the thunderbolt (view port) cable a thunderbolt different port.

these screens all work perfectly with 10.11 and 10.11.1.

    Steps to reproduce:

1: having a Mac Pro 2013, configurations and install 10.11.2

2: Connect a screen 4 k as u28e590d to the thunderbolt port, using mini-displayport cable.

3: let the Mac Pro sleep

4: when press a key or click the mouse, the Mac Pro will wake up but the screen won't wake up 4 k.

    everyone knows the same problem?

    Hello.

    same problems here :-(

    MacPro 2013 with the D300

    4 k screens: 28e590d Samsung and Asus PA328Q.

Can someone help? This problem is very annoying!

  • Mac Pro 2013 randomly restart problem

    Hello

Here's my problem: I have a Mac Pro end of 2013 (6 cores, 16 GB ram, over-pants D500, running OS X 10.10.5 with a WACOM Cintiq 21 - UX as my view only) who has, for the last month or so been randomly restart itself.

There are some days where it might be three or four times and then days where it won't do it at all. Also there are moments where it works well for hours, but then if I turned off the Mac Pro, it will crash and restart. Sometimes it will freeze momentarily application-wise (but the cursor moves but does nothing) before it restarts but usually just the screen goes black and then it restarts without any warning. I still get the black screen with the «your computer has restarted...» Press any key' and of course, it generates a crash report that I submit to Apple every time (that I'll post more recent one below as well.) I did start secure upward, reset the PRAM, booted single-user, just that I found online to do which is recommended. But nothing seems to have done something to help.

The Cintiq is connected through a DVI adapter to Thunderbolt. I also have Mercury Elite Dual Pro Rack hung RAID normally via Thunderbolt. There are times when I think that there is a problem with the RAID box and the Mac Pro but not sure. As there is a problem with the Thundebolt ports. I tried to pass the cables autour, but it has not seemed to have made all the difference. This also has all seems to have coincided with the last update of OS X where I've also updated the driver for WACOM Cintiq (I since past to the old driver). Is this all just a matter of software conflict?

I found an Apple Support thread where someone has indicated that a Kernel Panic may cause this, but then it also seems similar to what I've found, that was the issue with the Macbook Pro, which had problems with graphics a bit backward.

In any case, here's a crash report if it helps and thank you for any help that anyone can send my way!

Mac pro 2013 is better than 2015

There's not been and of differences in the Mac pro was introduced in late 2013.

Generally, because of the availability of parts, a newer version will be probably different parts on 2013 old Mac Pro

  • Y at - it a clear indicator or a code to indicate if a stick of RAM is registered or unbuffered? I would like to know for sure before installing additional RAM for this Mac Pro (2013). Thank you in advance. David

    Hello, all:

Y at - it a clear indicator or a code to indicate if a stick of RAM is registered or unbuffered? I would like to know for sure before I add that extra RAM for the empty slots this Mac Pro (2013) that a 2 x 8 is installed.

    Thank you in advance.

The 4 and 8 GB sticks are not saved while the sticks of 16 and 32 GB are registered. As you seem to know, you can not mix registered and unregistered sticks. For example, you can only add 4 or 8 GB sticks to your present 8 GB sticks

  • Samsung U28d590 + Mac Pro 2013

    Hello world.

    I have a Mac Pro 2013 AMD over-pants D300 2048 graphics card.

    I use a Samsung 4 k U28D590 connected via DisplayPort / Thunderbolt, to change 4 k video.

The display works fine but if I use the maximum resolution (3840 x 2160) all the icons and text looks too small and it is impossible to work.

I think that, if the Retina displays resolutions higher than my Samsung and icons and the text are a good size for the job, why OS X is not make the same options for scaling using a third party appear? Especially when Apple does not have an external display in 4 k for Mac Pro...

Does anyone have the same problem?

Thank you and sorry for my bad English.

Yes, it is a common problem with the exception of the high-resolution iMac. For those, which Apple also provides the screen, that they have increase the icons and other elements of the OSX system so they ae readable ore.

Make a suggestion to Apple to implement than for non-Apple screens

  • Mac Pro does not sleep

    Hello

I noticed, that my Mac Pro (end 2013) with El Capitan is not going to sleep more, neither automatically nor manually by using the Menu.

The screen goes black, but she is still ongoing. I tried the command "assertions of g - pmset" in the terminal, but there is nothing to prevent the Mac to sleep. Same thing with the activity in the Power Saver tab monitor. I also did a CMR and Reset the Pram.

I think that the last backup may be the problem: I got a Macbook Pro, and I used the Macbook backup, to restore the Mac Pro.

It's just a long shot, but I probably put the setting of night never inside the control panel of the Macbook, and this setting is not available on the Mac Pro.

Which is causing the problem? Or does anyone know another solution?

    Thank you!

    See you miss something here:

If your Mac does not sleep or wake up when expected - Apple supports

    • Try to sleep manually and note the time that you do. After a minute or two open the Console application in the Finder > Applications > utilities and look for log entries associated with low-power or sleep mode. Suspicious message here.

My MP 2013 will also not sleep and I was not able to fix it without a new installation. If I can migrate users defining and app who won't sleep.  You will probably see journal entries that say, in output mode, low power, I.

  • Mac Pro 2009 will not start, no edge

On Thursday, June 16, I sat to use my Mac Pro early 2009. I noticed that my Mac would not wake up by mouse click or the SPACEBAR on the keyboard. The led on my Mac, so I immediately thought that it was a problem with the graphics card.

I force shut down the Mac by holding the power button. I waited 10 seconds and turned on my Mac back, everything was fine and I worked on my Mac for 3 hours.

Last night 18 June I sat watching television when I heard the ringtone on my Mac Pro, I realized was a reboot. I went to the wire and connected and everything seemed fine. However later in the evening, I noticed a flashing LED on one of my two monitors. Once the Mac was on (fans spinning) but no signal to the monitor.

I made another force off now the power button on Mac, but now when turn on the Mac there is no boot chime or control signal.

I upgraded the graphics card to an AMD Radeon Sapphire HD 7950 in April 2013.

Any advice would be much appreciated as I'm in the middle of a big project.

Could also be a Mac Pro RAM chip inyour failure, sounds almost identical to a question I've had recently, I found the missing question when I removed the memory card.

If one of the pair of cards, you will need to remove two cards.

Try taking the memory OUT n test each module one at a time. Also check RAM editing maps, if none of the four lights on the two cards is turned on it idicates a defective module.

  • I want to use Siri on my Mac Pro 2013, but there is no built-in microphone.

Great so Siri is now activated on your desktop with Sierra. How can I add an Apple flagship computer microphone, the 2013 Pro Mac in a cost-effective manner? It's not even a microphone jack! Help, please!

Is your Mac has a headphone jack? Then try an Apple headset with a built-in microphone.

I'm seeing this in the specification tecniques for Mac Pro: http://www.apple.com/mac-pro/specs/

Audio combined optical digital output/analog line in mini-jack

headphone 3.5 mm with headset stand

The Headphone Jack would connect Apple headphones.

Or use any bargain price USB microphone for speech input.

  • Mac Pro 2013 become hot, not answer and stop.

    Hello

I have a 2013 Pro Mac, I bought as used before 5 months and he was well, before 3 days, the weather was warm (approx. 28 °) and under normal conditions, use my Mac Pro start freezing and not answered every 15-30 Minutes and automatically stop or I have to disconnect the power cable.

I started looking on the problem, I checked the bodies of the Mac Pro and I found it very hot, the fan worked but slow, I searched on Google on a tool or a command I can do the fan faster and I found an application called SMC FanControl, this app showing me that Mac temperature of 48 ° also with this app, I was able to turn the fan to Max speed, I heard the noise of the fan, it worked perfectly with this app. The Mac Pro early to work perfectly also with in normal and hard jobs.

Yesterday, I decided to clean all of my Mac Pro material, maybe that this solves the problem, it was dirty, and I did as new as you can see in this picture:

I also used for better CPU and GPU thermal compound I found on the market.

BUT the problem came with the first video editing, 48 ° c, closing down and not be able to turn it on for 5 Minutes.

The question is: why my Mac Pro not control the fan automatically? is it a software or a hardware problem? If the material someone we know exactly?

    Best regards

    Which component was 48 c?

    What was the hottest component?

    It's not hot at all.

From now on my MP 2013 with base CPU, CPU ITPP and CPU sensors 1-4 are about 100 ° C and speed of 84CFan two GPU time 1750

    • Record the time of the next frost. After the reboot, open the Console app in Finder > Applications > utilities and look for entries of the log at the time of freezing. Suspicious message here.

Search before the journal entry that begins with BOOT_TIME since it is the first line of a startup

  • How to wake up 2008 Mac Pro in his sleep?

In the past, when my Mac Pro (2008) fell asleep, I could watch on my laptop under the heading 'Shared' in a Finder window and the Mac Pro would be there. I could click on it and the Mac wakes up.

Now, I can't see the Mac listed under the section shared in the Finder when its sleepy, so I have to go to press the power button. Back To My Mac is activated in the settings of the energy as 'Wake For Ethernet Network Access'.

    What Miss me?

It is possible that the Mac Pro does not appear because its file sharing settings have been changed (on the Mac Pro).

You must have a Hello sleep Proxy on your network, such as an airport or an Apple TV device point.

  • New U2413 monitor won't allow my Mac Pro computer to sleep

My new U2413 monitor works fine. However, when I try to turn my Mac Pro (model 1.1, with OS 107.5) computer to sleep monitor goes to 'power save' mode that triggers the computer to wake up, the monitor return to power save mode, the back of the computer to sleep and so on. If I change the preferences of the computer to the monitor and the computer to sleep after 10 minutes, the monitor going to sleep, but the computer does not work. Any ideas? Is it possible to turn off the monitor power saving mode?

I tried your suggestion to use an external USB key to monitor the connection. It works!  The computer and the monitor can now go to sleep at the same time. The only downside is that the auxiliary USB ports on the monitor is no longer connected to the computer. So, now I need a hub USB powered, connected to the computer, since I have more USB devices (card reader, USB stick or two, two scanners and two printers) that the USB ports on the computer.

    Thanks for the suggestion.
