I installed AVG Antivirus (bought) and my computer started to loop on a blue screen after installation, so I removed it.  (sony vaio, Windows 7 Edition home premium).  Seemed to go well for several days, we wre away, the computer was off.  I've updated a security setting in my facebook yesterday, perhaps the two are not connected, but then I got threats from three to microsoft, including a message that someone (I did it with a different account) had logged into Facebook with an ISP located in another Province... possible given companies cover several provinces.

    I tried the things:

    (1) checking the section "hidden devices" in device management. He isn't here.

    (2) update the my wireless (Netgear A6210) network card drivers to the latest version.

    (3) update the drivers of my network card wireless (Netgear A6210) to the first version available.

Wifi miniport exists only after you have successfully put in place a network hosted - it is a virtual device.

If you can, it would be interesting to restore an image system before all your attempts - just to make sure there is no debris around to stop you from your repeated procedure.

The following documents have been cut & pasted directly from the windows command prompt, I used successfully implemented and use this utility [in Windows 7 and Windows 10].  I mention this because when I wanted to find out more about the fact that I discovered a lot of rubbish, written by people who had either never tried & have been incorrectly copy of notes from someone else or they were just of their inaccurate memories.

1 you must first verify that your WiFi card is capable of this job.  Enter elevated command window

    netsh wlan show pilot

    and check that the entry

    Hosted network supported: Yes

    appears in the results.

2 WiFi must be enabled until you issue the following command [it didn't need to be connected to anything]

    netsh wlan start hostednetwork

and then you should get the answer

    The hosted network began.

[If you do not have WiFi you this answer - the hosted network could not be started.]  [A device attached to the system is not functioning.]

3 Once you are happy that you have found the right answer, then stop the network

    netsh wlan hostednetwork stop

4 then start it for real with a SSID & password

netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode = allow ssid = TestNet key = password

    and you get the answer

The hosted network mode has been defined to allow.
The SSID of the network hosted has been changed successfully.
The user key hosted network password has been changed successfully.

5 you can restart [you will have to do at each reboot of the system - there is no need to keep entering the SSID and password the system will just continue to use those you put in during step 4 above].

    netsh wlan start hostednetwork

6 you can also get some info on how it works with

    netsh wlan show hostednetwork

I just checked these settings to see what security was that I couldn't connect to my WinXP [but not connected as well a computer Win10 & hotspot a phone]

  • Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter missing (hostednetwork starts but cannot connect devices)

I upgraded my Windows 7 to Windows 8 Pro and everything worked fine, I was able to host a wifi network using the command "netsh wlan. I have a htc x, it successfully connected to the wireless network on my laptop via the netsh tha.

But earlier, I have no idea of what happened but no device (for example, my cellphone) is able to connect to the wifi/hostednetwork hosted on my laptop. He sees the connection, but still hung on authentication / "obtain an ip address" phase and sometimes loops around that. While this same cell phone is able to connect to wifi hosted on the laptop from my friend, via the same netsh command, also it connects fine to routers wireless etc.

I noticed that in my network connections section, "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter" has disappeared. I tried to run the command

"netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode = command not allow."

    and then

"command netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode = allow."

but nothing is done, the virtual wifi adapter doesn't seem to be back. I've updated my drivers for wireless card that is "Intel Centrino Wireless - N 1030 BGN". But still no change, map of miniport does not return. Then I ran the cmd command "sfc/scannow", in the hope that maybe some file is corrupted and he could get fixed, but even after checking and restarting, it was still no effect on wifi.

So, basically, that is what is happening, I run the command

"netsh wlan set hostednetwork ssid = keyUsage htc = key command persist = mode abcdefgh = enable".

    and it will

"Hosted network mode has been set to allow.
The SSID of the network hosted has been changed successfully.
The user key hosted network password has been changed successfully. »

    Then I run

    "netsh wlan start hostednetwork.

    and it will

    "The hosted network began.

But in my network connections section, "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter" does not appear, instead when the connection is started, "Microsoft hosted virtual network adapter" appears and disappears when the hostednetwork is stopped. But nevertheless, no device is able to connect to this hostednetwork, stuck on authentication / phase "obtain an ip address", as a DHCP server is missing or something.

Kindly, help me out I searched on internet a solution for almost 2 days now, but nothing helped.

    Abdoulaye.

    Hi MAGIC,

It seems that you may need to update your BIOS firmware.

You may need to contact Samsung for more information, if the update is available for download on their Web site.

When started this issue is happening?

You can disable the virtual WiFi adapter, as it essentially works as a tool of development at the moment:

    Hello

    Control Panel - Device Manager:

You can double-click it - tab drivers - DISABLE (that is if you do not use this feature).

You may not have that unless you try to connect to other WiFi devices via your computer and
many WiFi devices and their drivers do not correctly support the virtual pilot.

Check with the manufacturer of system and/or support updated real manufacturer Sites and WiFi device drivers.
(Which is also updating the driver virtual.) If no new drivers WiFi are available then re - install the present
    one.

Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write
version - click the driver update (cannot do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Then
Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.

After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version.

Repeat for network card (NIC) and is a good time to get the other updated drivers as

I have a laptop windows 7 and I found the so-called map of Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport, I don't know what it's for, but I don't know that it's a virtual wireless card.

But I can't connect to a network to use it. and I don't know how to connect to a network.
I DO NOT have any errors, but I just want to know what it's for. :-)
    Thank you.

Its uses the wireless function integrated hostednetwork that transforms your computer equipped with wireless (WiFi) in a wireless router/access point. I use this feature to connect an iPod Touch (4th generation) wireless internet via my laptop while traveling in places where there is no wireless internet access, but it is wired internet access, IE. to some hotel/motels for example.

The adpater is not normally used to connect to wireless networks. This work is for your hardware integrated wireless (WiFi).

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/view-and-connect-to-available-wireless-networks

Interface based on FWIW you can make use of the hostednetwork function by configuring using netsh wlan set hostednetwork of command line commands or use free programs such as Connectify and virtual router that uses a graphical interface.

If you had installed drivers of the network up to date maps, remove this update. It worked for me.

Check the steps to remove the software update:

    ·        Go to the Control Panel and open Windows Update.

    ·        On the left side, at the bottom of the window, click the installed updates link.

    ·        In the next window, scroll down and select the update of the NIC has installed recently.

    ·        At the top of the window, click the Uninstall button.
