My modem is not detected in Windows XP Service Pack 3, and I have to choose from a list of options.
I use saved Window XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3. I have the Types of Standard modems available in the list. However, when I go to control panel-> phone and Modem Options-> Modems-> add-> Next (check don't detect my modem; I will select it from a list.) most computers have a list of Standard Modems (i.e. Standard 56000 bps Modem Standard 33600 bps Modem, etc.), but I do not have those on the list. I need to choose one of those to create the modem that I need for my use. I did it on another computer and it works fine, but the computer I really want it on it does not have the choice to choose 33600 or other

After the release of windows vista service Pack 2 and flash 10 my system continues to blue screen
After the last update of windows vista service Pack 2 and flash 10 that my system continues to blue screen, the solution has advised windows that will fix it is to uninstall flash and reinstal, it dosent solution work any ideas? I tried to roll back to Flash 9 and it's less, but happens again... someone has any ideas?
First, uninstall Flash to make sure that's not the problem. If the problem persists and if the problem is related to the installation of Vista SP2 (as seems to be the case), then Support Microsoft offers free technical support for installation of Vista SP2 issues at: https://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?prid=13014&gprid=582034&st=1&wfxredirect=1&sd=gn. They are experts on these issues and you should take advantage of the offer, although it is still free. I'm sure they will be able to help you. Minimize (but do not deny) the update of Flash and to focus on the installation of SP2 when you explain the problem.
I hope this helps. If this isn't the case, after return and we'll see what we can do.
Good luck!

Windows Vista Service pack 1 and 2 do not install correctly
I recently reinstalled vista on my system Its Home Premium Copyright 2006 32-bit computer
I have installed all updates from windows update the first time approximately 57 updates failed to install including Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and the .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update (KB951847) x 86 so I rebooted just to install the rest and then tried to install the others after it restarts.
After that I clicked on install the updates once more, he apparently installed...
I wanted to have an antivirus for my computer as soon as possible, but I knew that I need service pack 1, I went to install it and it says there is no service pack installed on my computer... I checked the updates he says, that it has been installed. I checked my system (via right click on computer > properties) but no Service pack has been shown
I thought necessary to install service pack 2 aswell so he can show upi installed service pack 2 through windows update restart computer... and yet once installed apparently... I check the system just to be safe, and this is not there... I don't know what is happening... IM wondering if I install the first Service pack for it displays on my system I just uninstall the service packs and Im trying to reinstall service pack 1 (Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update (KB951847) x 86) to see if it can appear after installing it manually from the microsoft Web site

You can download what it is a good, free, program of Microsoft.
You could have downloaded from another computer, transferred via USB drive installed on your computer, updated and then went to your updates.
You may have more luck installing Service Packs in this way.

This page will display the SP1 of Vista, under the heading: order a DVD of Windows Vista SP1, click on your region and then select your country and will take you to a page where you can buy the SP1 and SP2
Save the link and it's also for others to read this post wishing to purchase Service Packs for Vista as long download time saved and you can use them download are a problem or you reinstall your operating system.
If you later reinstall OS and you install the drivers manually install the Service Packs right after OS reinstalled before installing any drivers. You can first install the drivers but it is better Service Packs first as sometimes when you install a Service Pack after the drivers, you can find some drivers do not work and you have to reinstall these drivers.
For people using the original image, your drivers are already installed then install Service Packs just after the factory restore before installing applications or devices or download Windows updates.
Service Packs using immediately also save hundreds of download of the updates of Windows first of all that all updates to the top until the release of Service Packs are included.

Original title: vista service pack 1
just reinstalled vista and sp1 only installs sound always on windows updates and I install it says his successful but while he appears again ive done four times now, and it is said in the history of the update I have four time but I know that its not install as its quick access
I have will have to sp2 as well but can't get that until I get sp1Hi Joy,.
Let us work together to solve this problem.
During the installation of Windows Vista SP1, this problem occurs when a third-party application holds open a file or locks a file that the Service Pack installer should use. For example, an application third-party antivirus or antispyware may cause this problem. I suggest you temporarily uninstall any antivirus software and check if you are able to install the service pack. Please do not forget to reactivate once the process is complete.
Method 1: Alternatively, you can reset Windows Update components.
How to reset the Windows Update components?
Method 2: I ask that you download and run the system update readiness tool and check if you are able to install the service pack.

Windows Vista Service Pack 2 and Startup Repair prevent my laptop to turn on.
My laptop is running slow so I thought that I would need to update something. It suggested that Windows Vista Service Pack 2 so I started to update, but I remembered that my previous laptop was having problems with Windows Vista Service Pack 2 so I canceled the update.
I then turned off my laptop later and now when I turn it on it goes to 'Launch Startup Repair', I have let this happen, but can not solve a problem.
I then tried "Start Windows normally", but it goes back to restart and on-screen 'launch Startup Repair '.
Then I tried to boot into 'Safe Mode' = nothing
I tried restoring the system but there is no date available, and he said something like "there is no diagnostic tool.
I don't know what I can do!Hi carlywray,
Your computer came with Windows Vista preloaded? If so, contact the manufacturer for the disk recovery or a method of recovery of your operating system. If you have purchased a full copy of Windows, see this Microsoft document.

I think I have problems arising from the Windows updates do not install it.
I can't uninstall all the programs already on the computer - I get the message "Please wait while the current program is finshed uninstall or changed" on every single program.
Also, anything with an authorisation button freezes as son as I click on it without the authorization window popping up. for example. the clock or the managed task advanced details.
This has led to problems trying to install other software for example. I tried to install a game that failed, because the .NET framework 4 would not install.
