My motherboard has a TPM?

Just upgraded my HP Pavilion p7-1234 in Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate so that I could take advantage of BitLocker.  How will I know if my card mother AAHD2-HY (Holly) has a TPM 1.2?

Hello:

HP consumer PC do not have a TPM chip.  Do, only business models.

The easy way to check if your PC has a TPM chip is to go to Device Manager and look for a category of security devices.

If your PC has a category of safety devices click to expand it and you will see the TPM that there are listed.

Your PC lacks a category of security devices.

    Hello

    Model of laptop - HP Pavilion dv9260us.  Product ID - RP243UA SR #ABA No - CNF7134YJK

OS - Windows Vista Ultimate Build 6002.

I downloaded and installed the Bitlocker of Windows Extras for Vista ultimate on Windows Update. I received a message stating:

A TPM module was not found.  A TPM module is required to enable Bitlocker.  If your computer has a TPM module, then contact the manufacturer of the computer for Bitlocker-compatible BIOS.  Currently I have BIOS version F.2E

    Thank you.

    Hello:

After looking at the manual specifications and your service system, I don't think that your laptop is a TPM chip.

You can find out for sure by going to your control panel, click on Device Manager, and then click the option of security devices.  You are looking for a device labeled Trusted Platform Module 1.2.

If this device is not listed, you have.

    Hello

I searched for a long time and I have not found anything on this topic.

    What exact motherboard has the L650 - 15 c?
    H55 or P55?

Because on the H55, it would be possible to use the graphicchip on the I3 which is not if the P55 is used in the L650 - 15 c.

  • Motherboard has failed on the computer running Windows XP Professional. Can I replace the motherboard and re - install Windows with my product key?

My computer was assembled by myself has worked for many years, the operating system is win xp pro OEM.  The motherboard has failed and I'm replacing it with a newer version, that is no longer available. I can re - install win xp pro using any win xp pro not oem and using original key to activate? I understand the oem rules as it relates to a registered oem (Dell, Acer, etc) but my oem copy was bought at retail and as far as I know is not related to a named oem. In fact, I'd say I'm oem as I made the original equipment.

There is disagreement on that. I've seen people claim that if you change the motherboard, you essentially create a new PC (which would mean you would need another license as an OEM license can be used on a PC and never transferred to another).

And then there are people who say that it is the OEM who decides what constitutes a new PC. I tend to support this point of view, personally. But there is disagreement.
BTW, if you bought the OEM CD has no impact on the license.
After installation, you may need the Microsoft phone to activate (in other words, if the activation over the Internet does not work).

want to know if my motherboard has a virus on it

    Hi Patkehoe,

You can try the following steps and check.

Method 1: you can read the following article and perform a full scan on your computer.

    Microsoft safety scanner

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

    Method 2:

You can use your favorite search engine to look for third party software analyze the motherboard for virus or you should contact the motherboard manufacturer for assistance.

Note: Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

  • Windows 7 Home Basic will be activated not after the replacement of the motherboard has failed

    Hello

My cousin has a copy available from Win7 Home Basic SP1 64-bit, which is an OEM pack and geographically limited in India.
Recently, the desktop motherboard has developed a fault and it was replaced by the seller that it was under warranty (so assuming that to be the same brand and model of origin).
After the replacement, he receives a prompt from time to time that the version of Windows is not genuine and a new product key must be purchased which means buying a new copy of Windows altogether.
I tried to help him with his number and did some research on the microsoft Web site. I tried reactivate using the same product key, but get the message that the hardware has changed and the same key cannot be used. I also tried to use the phone activation method - but after entering all numbers of 9 series a message is read on that there is a technical error and the appeal is terminated. (But he does not say why the version of Windows cannot be enabled)
I came across the following post which seems to suggest that the same product key can be used as long the motherboard is replaced for a foul and the brand and the model have not changed.

I would like to know if there is a way to validate the Windows version now. We are concerned that both the computer and the BONES are authentic copies and licensed and it is not just that we need to get a new product key. I would like to know if there is a phone number or address of Microsoft office in India or abroad with which we can express our concerns.
    Thank you

I have my toshiba QOSMIO G10 since 2005 and this year my chart just went bad for some reason, my bad I was my warranty had already expired, so I called Toshiba to inquire about the price of the motherboard as the graphics card is integrated with it.

It was absurd VAT will cost me £630.00, I got frustrated and I decided to call Toshiba to make a complaint as a fact. They returned my call telling me

They will change my motherboard for FREE and they made in '48 hours' unbeliveble.

It was amazing and grateful. So if anyone has the same problem as I'd just call them.

    Hello

Yes, this problem will cause a problem psychological too many users.

Some vendors of motherboard put this second NETWORK card, because it cost them 30 cents to do this, and it seems not good for marketing.

While users cannot let go of the poor port (30 cents) sitting there with nothing to do. (;_;)

  • Windows 8 is installed by download. My motherboard has failed, but the hard drive is ok. How can I get it back?

Windows 8 was downloaded beforehand as a test pplace for Windows XP and then paid for.  From there, I managed to create a Setup disk.  Now, five months later, my motherboard failed taking with it my CPU and RAM, but leaving intact system disk.

Microsoft phone support, told me that the disk image is crucial and so that I can transfer it to another computer and use windows from this disk again.  Is it that simple?

I have always understood, certainly with XP that activation has been defined by the hardware, especially the motherboard and processor.

    Hello

Change the motherboard invites you to reactivate windows, you can refer to the activation of the phone, it would help you to reactivate windows.

I went to very difficult to leave my boyfriend to buy this pc.  First of all, that we now live in different countries.  I live in the United States and he lives in England.  We met on a PS3 game online called DUST 514 and played a lot of pc games together as well.  It is difficult to have to steal it back, but we're getting married soon and I'll come to England.  He needs a new PC for years and was jealous of my Alienware Aurora R4. So I decided to buy one that is still better than mine since it's even greater player I am . This will also allow us to play more games together .

Then I he wired the money and thought that everything would be ok, but you wouldn't believe the amount of screw - rises, that Dell threw on him!  They had even cancel a bunch of commands of the peoples, b/c, trying to control his spec-ed on Alienware has revealed a major screw-up affecting many clients... (Sorry, it made me delete/modify-this until his order passes through.  Dell representatives were concerned about what happened past.  I don't know if they told people that they had to cancel the real reason why orders and the possible impact on customers with currently Alienware Aurora...  I'll tell you what they have done after that his order is finally through.  Just a hint... inside your Alienware Aurora, check if you own to make sure that everything you ordered is actually there...)  He tried to do this for a week now...  I thought Dell was a little better than that... I knew they had bad grades, but really?...  In any case, it is a complete system stressed mess of it all back and on phone calls and e-mails with different people of Dell.  So I thought that, if it still manages to get the Alienware, maybe I can do even better!

He really should have an SSD, so I'll get a. He was talking and drool on the maps of Titan, so I'll give him two EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN Superclocked 6 GB GDDR5 2DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort PCI - Express cards in SLI config! : http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-video-card-06gp42791kr

I've never built a pc or tinkered with all hardware.  I want to make this even more impressive pc by adding an SSD.  I think I can install an SSD without any problem (I want the Samsung 849 EVO Mz-7TE1T0BW 2.5 "1 TB SSD)... Oops... I just thought of something... 4 TB SATA is actually 4 2 TB SATAs, put in place with 2 as the mirror...  I think that there are only 4 connectors for extension for SSD/HDD... Is this correct?  I have to replace one of the SATAs 2 TB with the 1 TB SSD?  What configuration I would define then the three SATAs 2 TB?  Would it be to say that he would have only 1 TB SATA? Could I set up so that it has SATA 1.5 TB (with SATAs split with half active and part of the half of the mirror for a RAID configuration)?  Furthermore, I have really no idea what RAID is or fact, just that you only half of total storage really active and the second half is as a backup in case of failure of a disk or something to avoid any data loss total... It is also the thing that I'm confused about that I don't know if it is also possible to install two graphics cards of Titan in SLI configuration on the micro ATX motherboard, I guess its Alienware Aurora will be, and still less 1 Titan.  Yes I know it is exaggeration lol, but the game is very important for us, especially since this is how we met.

Sorry for the long post... Finally, the MAIN POINT & QUESTION:

I have to install a different motherboard like the Asus Rampage Black Edition IV: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-motherboard-rampageivblackedition in order to install two Titan GPU in SLI configuration?  If so, how this O_o...?  Also, I heard that there is a 'girl' Council that controls the Alien FX LED lighting and ventilation Active... How to connect to the new motherboard (if I need to get a new one)?  Also if I get the other motherboard (if this motherboard work with everything) this motherboard would have space for 4 x 2 TB RAID 1 + 0 and the 1 TB SSD SATAs?

    Please answer.  Thanks, ~ value

to install two Titan GPU in SLI configuration?

Don't know why you config-ed with two years 780 in SLI if you want two Titan-SLI but this guy did:

    http://en.community.Dell.com/Owners-Club/Alienware/f/3746/p/19512935/20402844.aspx#20402844

Personally, I'd keep just 780 - SLI, since the two configs end up being very similar to the performance. Either they're going run hot (in the game of max.).

  • What version of the PCI Express x 16, it's my motherboard has

    -AMD Phenom II X 4 820

    -8 GB RAM

-SATA HARD DRIVE 1 TB (7200 RPM)

    -Motherboard model: Violet6-GL8E

Question: What version of the PCI Express x 16 is the slot on this motherboard: 1.x, 2.0 or 2.1?

    Can't get this information anywhere.

    Hello:

I don't think that anyone will be able to give you a definitive answer.

This article gives the date for the PCIe ranges various x versions.

    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI_Express

Since you have a relatively new PC, I would say that it is certainly not less than PCIe 2.0 and probably PCie 2.1.

I have a HP 8200 Elite CMT. I think that it is released at the beginning of this year, or very end of last year. 6570 PCIe 2.1, I use an AMD Radeon card in my PC.  It works very well.
