My OEM for Vista 32 bit product key will work with a 64-bit USB startup disk?

Basically, I have a copy of vista on a disc with the original key of the packaging and the product but I noticed that it says on the front of the manual this is an OEM copy. So I wandered will I be able to use this on Vista 64-bit product key which I have set up on a USB bootable through ISO files.

Until this ive received mixed messages on the issue to know if it will work and so thought I would contact the forum directly.
Thank you
Robbie

It is a long story.  I have a Sony VPCEB1S0E.  I got a copy of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit preloaded on it.

    Backstory:

My laptop crashed about 1 year ago.  If a friend of my uncle has reinstalled a fresh copy of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.  Lately, I realized that it is a Windows patched copy.  It does not say it is authentic, but I think that it is loaded with a magazine or something.  I used the command slui.exe 3 and entered my old key for my Home Premium edition.  He said that the key that I entered belonged to another edition of Windows.

    Present:

So I tried to download an iso. using the new recovery software Page.  However, when I entered my old product key, it displays an error saying:

    Unsupported product

The product key you have entered seems to be the software that was preinstalled on a device.  Contact the manufacturer of the device for soft recovery options.

I managed to download an iso of Home Premium. file from a trusted source.

    Main question:

If I reinstall a new copy of Windows Home Premium, my existing license key will work during installation?

Yes, the product key will work because it's the right 'Home Premium' edition.

  • Will reinstall Vista 32 - bit key work for Vista 64 bit?

I have a Dell XPS running pre-installed Vista Home Premium 32-bit, and I want to do a clean reinstall of the operating system.  Unfortunately, I lost my DVD of resettlement.  A friend has Vista Home Premium 64-bit for Dell, and I was wondering if it would work if I reformat the partition to the OS on the hard drive and install 64 - bit instead?  Also, I reinstalled 32 bit before on a previous machine and it didn't ask me the product key after the relocation.  I will ask you to enter the product key if I have installed the 64-bit, and if so, the 32-bit key will work?

    Hello

Yes, you can use a key of Vista 32-bit to a 64-bit Vista reinstall. The only thing to note is that the edition of the operating system should be same (what is Home Premium) in this case.

    Hope this information helps.

  • Satellite A500D - FN key does not - need tool for Vista 64-bit

    Hi experts,

I would like to ask for help on the problem of my laptop.
The FN key is not working now. I tried to restart the Flash cards, but nothing happens.
I read on a few discussions that I must download the VAP and drivers section flashing utility.

That is, that there is no option for vista 64 on the list. I have the European backup installation discs (CD 7 or 9?) but I do not intend to reinstall new OS.
I can not activate the button for the antenna, because it requires the combination FN + F8.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

It seems that there are only some a lot of drivers for Vista 64 bit for Satellite A500D not published on the page of the European driver Toshiba
This is why I would recommend checking the VAP (value added package) and card Support Flash Utility released for a series of Satellite A500.

  • Help with error message: "Windows Vista Home Premium product key you typed in is invalid for activation.

Original title: help with error message... Please...!

I use a desktop PC of HP Pavilion a6202.uk with Windows Vista Home Premium & Microsoft Office 2003.  When I am back from vacation & turned on my PC, my password was OK, but rather to raise Windows, I received the following message: "Windows Vista Home Premium product key you typed in is invalid for activation.  He then listed the following options: "access your computer with reduced functionality (this will allow you to buy a product online key)" or "Type a different product key" or "contact HP to help solve this problem."

I have no idea what a product key is and don't have anything either in the type comes to connect as usual.  I can't access anything to be same to reduced functionality.  I can not type in a new product key because I did not.  I can not contact HP - phone number does not... !!

I'm quite desperate, I travel docs to print and e-mail to answer and I don't have any idea what is happening.  Please can someone help with this not very IT clued-up DTP...!

    Moved from Vista programs Forum.

You should have a sticker with the product key on your computer, on the bottom, or under the battery cover.  I try to type this key in and see if it accepts it.  If this isn't the case, you might not have an authentic version of Windows installed.

  • Sticker license Vista missing - have product key, but NO version

    Hi all

I am currently working on a laptop that originally shipped with Windows Vista. The original hard drive failed and the system is unable to boot from it.

I have a replacement for the system HARD drive, but the license sticker to Windows Vista on the bottom of the laptop disappeared, and although I can read the product key, I can't tell which version of Windows Vista this appies to (for example, 'Basic', 'Home premium' etc.).

I tried the site of the manufacturer without success and is not any support for system recovery. I have Windows Vista OEM discs, but I'm not sure who the product key to apply to. is there a way to tell? This information can be found by browsing the files on the original defective HDD?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Call the manufacture, they should have a record of your purchase. Once you are able to identity what version of Vista you have to find a friend with a 'Detail' of Vista installation DVD and use it to install (you choose the version of Vista you have ordered) Vista using your product key.

use your microsoft software licenses are yours

you don't have to rebuy unless you move to a different computer licensed oem software

If your microsoft software is pre-installed it is licensed oem and it related to the first machine that is installed the life of this machine

If a retail license it can be moved to another computer but only installed on a machine at any time

How many times can I install Windows on my computer before I have to activate Windows again?

You can reinstall Windows on the same computer as many times as you want because activation pairs product key of Windows with information about your computer hardware. If you make a significant hardware change, you may need to activateWindows once again.

for your office activation issues, you will need to ask in the forum link below office activation because this forum is for vista installation issues
