My office is hung up, but I can still use the start menu, but not all of the icons on my desktop. Internet Explorer and Google hang whenever I use them
I'm really tired of my office when I hung up, I have windows 7, plenty of ram, plenty of space, I do regular maintenance, but this is really starting to annoy me. I am not a novice, I used since before computers that windows was invented, and I am very appreciative of the responses that will prevent this.

Think about it an absolute must - manually update your drivers.
Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.
This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:
This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:
-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded
on your system. For each driver in the list, additional useful information is
Poster: load address of the driver, description, version, product name,.
company that created the driver and more.
http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html
For drivers, visit Maker as replacements and system manufacturer of device which are
the most recent. Control Panel - write - graphics card - device manager
the brand and complete model of your video card - double click - tab of the driver-
Note the version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this can do nothing
MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
This will refresh the driver stack.
Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard
If there are 3rd party with their own software and drivers and the other main device drivers
you have.
Now, go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restore)
and site (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get the manufacturer and device
their latest versions. (Look for the system to update the BIOS, Chipset and software updates
Site of the manufacturer here.)
Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN -.
REBOOT after each installation.
Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you are
installation actually appears. This is because that some rollback of drivers before the
later is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a driver - reboot.
Make sure that it is installed and repeat if necessary.
Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW to the device makers DO NOT RUN THEIR
SCANNER - check manually by model.
Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm
Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using
the above methods is preferable to ensure the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system
and device manufacturers are located)
http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html
If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable driver facilities
in the updates of Windows, which leaves on Windows updates, but it will not be installed
pilots who are generally older and cause problems. If updates provides a new
driver then hide it (right click on it) and then go get new ones manually if
you want.

I can't move the icons on my desktop by dragging them (I use to be able to) how correct them where I can move them again (I can't delete them either?)
Hello
Thanks for posting this question in the Microsoft Community.
If I understand correctly, you are not able to drag icons on the desktop. I'll certainly try and help you in the matter of fixing.
To help you to propose measures to solve the problem, I would appreciate if you could answer the following questions:
1. Since when are you facing the issue?
2. you have any security program installed on the computer?
3. what happens when you try to remove the icons?
4. do you get an error message?
5. are you aware of any changes made to the computer before the show?
Run a full scan using the Microsoft Safety Scanner and check for infections.
Note: there is a risk of data loss if all the files are infected and which can be removed in the cleaning process.
If the problem persists, start the computer in safe mode and perform a clean boot. Clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
Note: when you are finished troubleshooting, follow step 3, mentioned in the article to start the computer to a normal startup.
Hope this helps and let us know if you need more assistance. We will be happy to help.

Can't fix the icons on my desktop
SOLVED! (solution in response)
My desktop icons positions be saved when I 'Refresh' or restart. Also, when I change out a folder, group by, and view options these settings are reset when I reopen it the folder (not as big a problem as the Organization of my office, but may be related).
Video of my problem (Sorry for the bad quality of the download)
Windows 7 Professional (64-bit) SP1
The problem occurred a week ago. I got some virus/malware, I deleted since this problem started. I had a problem with Windows Update, where he would not be executed, and I fixed with Microsoft Fix It. At the same time, I noticed this problem.
I tried many things
1. right click on desktop > view > auto arrange
Was already unchecked. I checked it, rebooted, unchecked it but it did not fix it.
2 Windows Update
I have installed all the latest patches.
3. safe Mode
The problem still occurs in safe mode.
4 antivirus
I ran a quickscan with Malware Bytes and analysis complete with AVG and found a few threats but remove them does not fix it.
5. right click on Desktop > Personalize > change Desktop icons > allow themes to change desktop icons.
This has already been verified.
6. clean start [1]
I disabled some unnecessary startup applications. I also ran CCleaner and deleted some scheduled tasks and disabled some useless services.
7 sfc/scannow [2]
No problem found.
8 Microsoft Fix It [3]
This may have solved the problem for 10 minutes until what he made me reboot. The problem is back and this tool will not detect the problem more.
9. delete Desktop.ini
The file does not appear to be re-created, even on reboot.
10. update the drivers
I have not updated the BIOS, but I updated my graphic/motherboard including some tools NVIDIA drivers.
11 change the registry [c]
I tried some of these bugs, but not all.
12 turn off the sidebar [5]
Does not help.
13. calls > regsvr32 ole32.dll > regsvr32 /i shell32.dll
Both succeeded.
14 ESC 3 x (g)
15. hold SHIFT key upon restart
16 registry change [6]
Start > run > regedit.exe
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies
Created key 'Explorer '.
Added the new "NoSaveSettings" DWORD value and 0 (1 I tried as well)What I have not tried
17. restore point
It was about a week, and the last restore point is after the problem.
18. restore the backup
I don't have a backup.
19. reinstall Windows
Overkill and could waste hours of my life.
