My operating system does not recognize that for Windows XP (KB2813170) security update is already installed

My operating system does not recognize that for Windows XP (KB2813170) security update is already installed

Just out of curiosity, why all these steps? Why not simply do step 9?

1. #9 step alone can not have solved the behaviour & we wanted to be certain that no "leftovers" Norton formed the scr3wing things.

2. I wanted to do some (possible) that your computer is not infected.

  • Operating system does not recognize the drive (cd/dvd drive)

Product: hp pavilion dv4270us notebook PC

    Operating system: Windows XP Professional

My dvd R/W drive stopped working on my laptop all of a sudden.  No messages were produced.  When I checked the Device Manager, the drive did not work with an error code 39.  I uninstalled equipment and reinstalled several times but no recognition by operating system.

Is this a problem of interface, or do I need a new optical drive?

Yes... a bit of burning CD and other prorgams programs add their filter keys to the registry that will create this problem. You just need to remove the key and restart the system to recover the system to the factory settings.

  • [Solved] pc with xp home edition as the operating system does not start after installation of SP2 via automatic updates

Hello everyone. After formatting my hard drive I reinstalled windows xp edition sp1 family and then installed the latest version of windows update agent. I have the auto update set to download the updates automatically and notify me when they are ready to be installed. Initially, he found 3 updates that I installed and rebooted. He concluded 58 updates. Again, I've installed and restarted. After that, we found ServicePack 2, I installed as well. But after the reboot, the pc does not start. What I get is the windows xp logo which discoloures after a few seconds and I don't see a bar moving from left to right. I left it like that for 3 hours, but nothing has changed. Also, it does not start in safe mode. I get a screen with red and green vertical lines in this case. Anyone know what's the problem? I'd appreciate any help. Thank you.

I was finally able to solve this problem. That's what I did. I reinstalled windows xp home and followed the same path (but his definition of the automatic updates notify me before downloading or installing updates) until the automatic updates found in the new service pack 2. This time that I did not choose to download it. Instead I downloaded from here http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=28 and then started in safe mode and installed. I don't know one that makes the difference but service pack 2 has been successfully installed this time and tha pc was able to start after installation. Before that, I also downloaded and installed the latest versions of 2 drivers through drivermax. I mention this in the case where he has also made a difference. After the service pack 2 installation and restart, automatic updates will be found a few others brought up-to-date, but after installation and reboot, it found no others. I had to visit update windows Internet explore and search for updates it and managed to find other updates and finally SP3.

    Hi Alba.

    1. who is the operating system installed on the computer?

    2. What is the brand and model of the computer?

This issue may be caused if one of the following situations arises:

    • The currently loaded USB driver has become corrupt or unstable
    • Your PC requires an update for problems that could conflict with an external hard drive USB and Windows
    • Windows may be missing other problems hardware or software updates
    • Your USB controllers may have become corrupt or unstable
    • External drive can enter selective suspend
    • Your PC motherboard may need updated drivers

I suggest to connect the USB device to a different USB port and check.

You can run the Fixit provided in the article and the Coachman.

The new works of fine memory is not the hard drive. My system does not recognize the new drive. This isn't. I would be very greatlyful for any suggestions, to HELP!

I've had several people tried to help me solve my problem. They were all, I thought, more than I am computer savvy. As time progressed, solutions became more complex. After they all left without resolution I thought and it appeared to me that the simplest solution might be correct. One person had checked. I turned on the computer and when the Dell logo came I pushed the F12 key to open the Dell configuration screen. The drive on which the new drive has been installed has NOT been activated! Duh! I activated the he and the program Acronis recognized and everything went like clockwork after that. Phew! What relief! Thank you for your comments I am just glad that my problem it doesn't require resolution. Are Mod
