• Satellite Pro L300 some FN keys do not work on XP

  I bought a L300-164 on Monday. However, there is no preinstalled opsys. I installed a Win XPSP2 (HUN) on it and downloaded the drivers from www.toshiba-europe.com.

  First I have installed chipset and video drivers, then I installed "common Modules". After you finished and restart I tried to install 'orders', but who says "common modules" are not installed.

  So I installed 'save energy' and tried to install it once more the 'controls '. Now, it has been installed normally. Finally, I put on "hotkey utility" and "touchpad utility power. So everything seems to be all right on the machine, but a few FN keys do not work: F6 and F7 doesn't control brightness, F2 is not change power mode and F9 switch touchpad power (of course in a hurry with the FN). However, volume knob works, ESC as the work of mute and Fx buttons also work elsewhere.

  Y at - it ideas to make these buttons work?

  Sat L300-164 seems to belong to the PSLBDE series, and you must download and use the drivers from the Toshiba European designed for the series Sat L300 PSLBDE page.

  Is the common Modules is a key driver that is important for the functionality of the FN button.

  It resembles that of the number keys and @ key will not work after you install Windows 8. I understand that this can be embarrassing.
  
  You can follow these steps to search for a program called detector of key journal constant guard or the constant guard of Comcast.
  
  (a) press "Windows +R" and then type "appwiz.cpl" and press ENTER.

  Recently I have reinsalled Windows 7 last month and everything is OK except for the FN key. When the added value package is NOT installed, some of the functions of work (in fact most of them do). BUT after that I installed the VAP, it does not at all! I checked the settings and nothing is disabled. Flash cards are running, but I can only interact with them with the mouse.
  So I uninstalled and installed the previous version of PPV I used before. The result was the same.

  I tried other things too: I used the DVD provided with the laptop to install windows vista from recovery. The FN key worked! I tried to do an UPGRADE to Windows 7 and see what happens and FN key does not work yet.

  Then I thought that the reason was a Windows Update. I installed all available updates and even once - nothing happened.

  All this is very strange because the FN key and flash cards worked well before the first reinstallation of Windows 7.

  The only other thing I can think is that I did an update of the BIOS before resettlement - had some problems with the sound and I think that helped. If I could, I would have tried to go down but I don't see how it's possible - I can't download the previous version of anywhere! And if there is a backup, it is not on the computer more secure.

  I know this is a little thing, but it drives me crazy! Two lost days just a FN key!
  My warranty has expired 1 year ago and I don't want to lose money on just a key... it is not a service of toshiba in my city.

  Thank you for the information. I suggest to uninstall the drivers with this document Troubleshooting (Windows 7, Vista) device drivers , then downloading the HP Quick Launch Buttons on your desktop and then install. If you can't find the driver, then just install this driver.

  I have a HP Pavilion 17-e031sa laptop bought only 2 weeks ago running Windows 8.  The CTRL key does not work as it should.  In general, I would like to use it with the left button of the mouse to select non-consecutive items for the copy, but this won't work for this function.  It doesn't seem to be the key itself, because it does not work in the combination of keys ctrl/alt/delete.  I tried to uninstall the keyboard driver and restart, but without success.  Any help would be appreciated.

  Sorry for the confusion, I knew that these keys would not do the function you're looking for. I wanted to know if these shortcuts worked using the CTRL key. So we can see if it works this particular function or all keys ctrl shortcuts work. Quick access keys did what they were supposed to do? For example, the Ctrl + X cut the selected text, or Ctrl-Esc opens the start menu?

  Trying to see if there something wrong with the key itself or is someone wrong with this particular feature you try.
