My outlook express won't let emails through. I am getting an authorization and then an error will appear.
Outlook express won't come through
You probably have the widespread corruption of dbx files. Try in a new identity.
File | Identities | Add the new identity. Create a new one and try it. If all goes well, you can import your messages and address book from the old identity and delete it.
Note: Do not use the main word in the name of the new identity.
In addition, follow these guidelines to help avoid this in the future.
Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.
Information on the maximum size of the .dbx files that are used by Outlook Express:
http://support.Microsoft.com/?kbid=903095
After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.
Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.
Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the processors and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs and account setting changes. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

There are records at random in my Outllook Express that the mail that I rescued disappeared. There was no breakdown nor any other icident happened. Outlook Express request the compress for additional space, several times a day. Can you tell me how to recover these missing many emails?
Two reasons the most common for what you describe is disruption of the compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished), or bloated folders. More about that below.
Why OE insists on compacting folders when I close it? :
http://www.insideoe.com/FAQs/why.htm#compact
Why mail disappears:
http://www.insideoe.com/problems/bugs.htm#mailgone
About file Corruption:
http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/IE/community/columns/filecorruption.mspxRecovery methods:
If you use XP/SP2 or SP3, and are fully patched, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.
To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.
Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.
In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.
Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.
Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.
First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.
If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.
If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.
If you have not then bak copies of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin:DBXpress run in extract disc Mode is the best chance to recover messages:
http://www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/default.aspxAnd see:
http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4A general warning to help avoid this in the future:
Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.
Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

E-mail response in outlook express using the default email
The default email in Outlook Express address is * address email is removed from the privacy *
When we click on answer the e-mail, the e-mail address of the sender indicates * address email is removed from the privacy *, instead of * address email is removed from the privacy *
We tried to change the (name) e-mail account and the information of the user (name) in the aphabetic order (numeric). But it does not work. We have also tried to change in order that e-mail account has been set up. Yet once, it does not work.
Your colleague suggested changing the rules of Message. But it may apply here.
Please let know us how we can fix this problem.
You can set default email under Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties. OE will then use it by default, but if the e-mail was sent to a different e-mail address, when you reply, OE will use this e-mail address and not the default value in the response. If you cannot set the e-mail by default, or if OE doesn't know it, then you can go to file | Identities and install a new identity and add your mail accounts to ensure that identity and that should solve the problem.

For some reason, I can't get my Outlook Express to send my emails... they do not connect or send failed... what I am doing wrong to cause this... I have used Outlook Express in the past and had no problem with it... Also, how can I know what e-mail programs POP3 or request the program Outlook Express? Could you please clarify this for me, thanks...
I use Windows Live Mail as my regular e-mail address... but I can use a different e-mail to another e-mail program to configure Outlook Express?
Visit the website of your email provider and see if they have instructions to set up an account in Outlook Express. They provide you with the appropriate settings. Nobody here knows them, because they are specific to the e-mail provider. So check with your provider of messaging on the correct settings to use for OE.

Last night my operating system not found a set file and reloaded among other Outlook express things - is it possible to recover the address book, folders and emails?
original title: Outlook Express problem
Hi John,.
Try to locate your data from outlook express:
Click on start-> Run & paste-> %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities
You will see the folders as {xxxxxx-xxxx-xxx-xx-xxxxxxxxxxxx} click-> Microsoft-> Outlook Express, you should be able to locate the DBX files, these are the outlook database files. Ideally, you should see inbox.dbx, Sent Items.dbx... check the size of the file.
Now to get it back on outlook express, open outlook express-> click on tools-> Options-> maintenance-> the storage location.
Click on change location, and then select the location that you have your data in.
For the address book, see: click Start-> Run and paste the following:
%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book
Address book with wab extension, these should reflect your Outlook Express user name.
I hope this helps.

Outlook express - cannot delete an email
original title: Outlook express problems
I got an e-mail I couldn't remove, so she ignored for several weeks. Now, I can not outlook express open same 6. It says its already launched in another instance, even though I just started computer. Windows xp
[Moved]
Start the Task Manager and see it there is an instance of the OE running. If so, complete the process.Assuming that doesn't work, try deleting Folders.dbx and see the OE opens.Folders.dbx is probably damaged. In Windows XP, the files of user OE (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View. The path to the message will be very similar to this:C:\Documents and Settings\Your User of utilisateur\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\ {long string of letters & numbers} \Microsoft\Outlook ExpressWith OE closed, find the Folders.dbx file and delete it. Another will be created automatically when you open OE.Note these possible side effects:When you re - start OE, it will build a new index of all *.dbx files it can read and create a new Folders.dbx. However, understand that you will lose the mail directory structure and message rules will probably have to be edited. If you get in, uncheck the preview pane and work offline. Do a shift/delete and see if the corrupted message disappears. -

Hello, in
This can be caused if the Outlook Express message store file is corrupted. I suggest that you rename the file and restart the computer to re-create the file.
a. Click Start, go to my computer.
b. navigate through locations
C:\Windows\Application Data\Outlook Express\ {GUID}
Or
C:\Documents and Settings\
Settings\Application Data\Identities\ {GUID} \Microsoft\Outlook Express c. right-click on the Folders.dbx file and then click Rename (copy and save this file to another location, in case of failure, you need to replace the original file.)
d. type folders.old.
e. launch Outlook Express. This creates a new Folders.dbx file.
Thank you

Had problems with Outlook Express. When I send a mail, I get an error message indicating the e-mail was sent not. The e-mail has been sent, but it never leaves the output area. I have to go and delete the e-mail. Then I don't have a folder of e-mails, except in my deleted file.
Any help would be appreciated. You have apparent dbx file corruption.
Spend most of your messages out of the Inbox and then create new folders to send and sent items box after having moved the messages you want to save to a local folder that you create.
Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.
In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.
With OE closed, find the DBX files for the items in the Outbox and sent and delete them. New ones will be created automatically when you open OE.

Outlook express won't jpeg files attached to email
I use Windows XP and Microsoft Outlook Express 6 version 6.00.2900. If I get an email with an attached jpeg file get he message 'OE removed the following a dangerous attachment in your mail.' This will happen when I get attachments of JPEGs of someone or if I send it to me.
The new identity should be fixed because it creates new registry keys. Do this for the current identity.Close OE and go to start | Run and type:RegeditPress ENTER.HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE | Software | Microsoft | Outlook Express. In the right pane, locate Blockexeatta 0x00000000 (1)Right click on this line. Modify and change the (1) (0).Close the registry and open OE and the box "do not allow attachments...". "should not be grayed out anymore.Spare, you already can not open unless you save it on your HARD drive, but future attachments should open. -
