  First try to run a file system check.  On the Start Menu, click programs principally made, click Accessories and then click command line.  (If you are using Vista or Windows 7 you must open the command prompt by clicking on it and selecting 'Run as administrator').  In the command prompt, type the following command and press return.

  sfc/scannow                       (there is a space between sfc and /)

  Let the process complete.  When finished type exit and press return.  Restart the PC and see if there is an improvement.

  If the problem persists, start the PC in safe mode by pressing f8 at the age you start the PC, select Mode safe mode with the arrow keys and press return.  Start windows in this mode for long enough to see if the issue still occurs.

  Post back with your results.

  My HP Pavilion p316uk has always been fine, but recenly develops a tendency to freeze randomly (even cold).

  Shortly before he would go just in mode 'sleep' (no input signal) and doesn't respond unless I did a re-boot cold using the power button.

  It seems to me that it's time to do a full System Recovery.  This will return the computer to the configuration it is in when you bought it.  I try to do at least every two years.  It eliminates parasites that can occur from installing and uninstalling the programs.

  Computer blocks once the fan CPU runs at max speed. Initially, the computer would occationally freeze after waking up from sleep mode (CPU fan would be occaionally operate at full speed & freeze the system).  Now cannot load even in windows. It freezes at the configuration of the BIOS once the fan turns at speed computer crashes if the CPU fan run at maximum speed wherever you are!

  1. I did the cleanning & lubrication & even take the battery to reset the Bios but no success too.

  (Before I can reset the Bios it will run normally.)

  2. remove all USB devices except the mouse & keyboard

  3. detach & attach Ram memory & graphic card

  I saw a ROM_Recovery shunt on the motherboard label. Must I do? or can someone help, please?

  Yep, installation of adapter Qualcomm Atheros WiFi update worked!

  It worked immediately, but I wanted to give him a full 24 hours or more to see if the fix stuck.

  I don't think that the slimeline s3220n is compatible with Windows 7. I tried to install windows 7 using the custom installation procedures. I was going 'Vista Ultimate' to and upgrade of "windows" version 7 Professional I had nothing but problems since I did the custom install with upgrade media.

  I reinstalled my Vista and I'm done trying to upgrade to windows 7. The biggest problem I've had is that the drivers listed for this product will not work on Windows 7. I tried all the drivers and that they are not running because I was using them on Windows 7. Even when I tried to run the drivers as an administrator, they may have questions.

  Could you confirm or deny that the Pavilion slimeline s3220n is compatible with Windows 7 Professional.

  HP has no Windows 7 drivers for all products - they go back a year or two when released 7. Your not falls not in the category - it's like that.

  FIRST: at present, if you have not done alread and while you are under Vista - update your BIOS:

  I say this because the update of the BIOS to 5.18 solves a problem with the central unit and could very well be related to your blockages.
