  The only other way I've seen is when you manually copy the virtual machine to another location on the data store (or another data store) and then when turn on/off the virtual machine, select I moved, rather that I copied it (the default option).  This will keep the same UUID.

  (b) at the command prompt, type Chkdsk/f and press ENTER.

  (c) press y when you are prompted to check the drive the next time the system restarts.

  (d) close all applications and restart the computer.

  Note: When you restart, Windows checks the drive for errors, and then starts.

  (e) once the computer is rebooted, re-run the back upward.

  Important: Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data can be lost.
