I have Windows vista Ultimate edition. but he started asking for activation after the windows update while it has already been activated before the update.
Hello, Pichon,
If Windows Vista application unexpected activation
On rare occasions, you may be prompted to activate Windows Vista on a computer that did not previously require Windows Vista activation or has already been activated successfully. For example, this may occur on a computer on which Windows Vista was preinstalled by an OEM installation or Volume licensing and are major hardware changes occurred, such as upgrading the hard disk and memory at the same time.
If you are prompted to reactivate Windows Vista, you can do this by using the Windows Activation Wizard to:
- Click Start, and then click computer.
- Click System Properties on the toolbar, and then click click here to activate Windows now in the Windows activation area. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click continue.
- Select the Windows Vista activation method that you want, and then follow the instructions.
To avoid this problem in the future, obtain the latest service pack for your version of Windows Vista, either through automatic updates or direct download.
To update to Windows Vista and prevent this activation problem does not happen:
- Click Start, click all programs, and then click Windows Update.
- Click find updates.
- As soon as Windows Vista found the updates, click the install updates button.

Get BSOD when updated in Windows Vista Ultimate Edition
I got the Windows Update for Monday, 30/11/09. Under the option updated, I clicked on the update Realtek for my wireless 801.11 b / g driver. During the download on the window updates screen, he says that he was downloading updates. Then he went to install the updates and I got the BSOD about 3/4 of the way through. Reboot the computer and to the Welcome screen, it said it was set up the updates. He crossed the 1st to the 3rd stage, but remained at 0% and then in Windows. When the desktop is loaded, the window "Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown" came. When I click on "Find solutions", he went the BSOD and restarted all over again with the same message "install updates" at the Welcome screen. When I tried to cancel the window "windows has recovered...". ', he went the BSOD again and restarted again with the same method. The next time I tried to restart the computer and during the stop, he went to the BSOD and restarted everything again. This also happens when I try to shut down the computer. The stop on the BSOD error message is Stop: 0x0000001A. Windows error that appears under Windows is 80070103. I am running Windows Vista Ultimate Edition. Help, please. How can I get out of this loop. I tried the "Fix - It" program, but it's the same thing when he went to restart the computer. I know it has something to do with the appearance of the Windows Update, but I do not know how to break the loop of update.
Bob,
Run the Microsoft Fix - It from this link:reset Windows Update componentsIt has all the steps that you have already done, but includes a couple that you don't. After you run reboot and post back with the results. Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

I have two Acer Aspire laptops. They are totally frozen because of the virus.
I lost the recovery of Windows Vista Ultimate Edition disc, where to get a replacement.
I have to rebuild my laptop.Hello
No - what are the two Acers come with a recovery disk?
If this is not the case, one of them would have a recovery partion, which specifically is to reinstall the operating system on it.
With an Acer, you press Alt + F10 at startup to start the recovery process.
All data are lost when you do the above.
And for the lost disc, contact Acer and ask them to send you recovery disks.
They do that for a small fee:
Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.
If this happens, you may need to try this instead:
You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.
Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.
And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs
Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

I have windows vista Enterprise edition and trying to connect to a PPTP VPN, I get an error 691 name of user and password are fine, I can connect to the VPN on XP without problem.
original title: VPN Error 691I was able to find a solution by the way that the domain has been configured. I was adding the complete domain name and extension (i.e. domain.local). The .local was me screwing up. I edited the domain field to only reflect the domain name without any extensions. One that I did this it worked like a charm. I have been using a VPN PPTP on a computer Server 2003 domain mixed with 2000 and 2003 domain controllers and Windows 7 Pro laptop computers. Hope this helps someone.

PeterHello
The easiest way is with a crossover cable - a special wire to connect the two systems.
You can get one at your local computer store - they are not expensive. Also check with the site of the manufacturer of your router, because they will have in-depth details on how to
set up the network.====================================

Upgrade in Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows Vista Ultimate Edition.
I am considering the upgrade from Home Premium to Ultimate. I already bought the software Windows Vista Ultimate Edition at a great price from Circuit City when they were going out of business. I am currently using Windows Vista Home Premium. I need to install a program called SolidWorks 2008 CAD - 2009 in College and this program is already bought and in my possession. Family Premium is not compatible with this program. I really don't want to go because I believe that it will lose the ultimate software, but I think, that I have no other choice in order to use my copy of SolidWorks 2008 - 2009. So I have a few questions related to it. Is there a way to get around this, and if not, is there something I need to do or uninstall until I try to install this upgrade? I can't afford to have any problems during this update because I need every day my computer for school. Is a one time installation were I will not be able to use this ultimate software on another computer ever? Thanks for your help.

Windows Vista Ultimate Edition will not be upgraded to Windows 7
Windows 7 Upgrade says he cannot directly upgrade Windows XP, duh? I ran the Upgrade Advisor before running the upgrade software and did not get this stupid message. I get only when the software upgrade performs its checks. I am running Windows Vista Ultimate Edition with all updates to September 24, 2013.
Which edition of Windows 7? It matches the edition of Vista you are trying to upgrade to?
When important changes to your computer, for example an upgrade, it is always recommended that you back up your system before installing a new version of Windows. In your case, you can upgrade to Windows 7 depending on the edition and the architecture of Windows Vista, you have installed. If you are running a 32-bit version of Vista and upgrade to a 64-bit (Windows 7 edition) version, you'll have a pure make install, it is the opposite case.
If you are using Windows Vista Home Basic or Premium consumer editions, you can only upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate. In addition, you can make downgrades, which means, if you are running Windows Vista Ultimate Edition now, you cannot downgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium. You perform logical upgrades:
Windows Vista Home Basic > Windows 7 Home Basic, Premium or Ultimate
Windows Vista Edition Home Premium > Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate
Windows Vista Business > Windows 7 Professional, enterprise or ultimate edition
Windows Vista Business > Windows 7 Enterprise
Windows Vista Ultimate > Windows 7 Ultimate.

BitLocker preinstalled Windows Vista Ultimate Edition
I have BitLocker on a computer pre-installed with Windows Vista Ultimate Edition, if my TPM module has been disabled; I can see the link in the BitLocker Control Panel icon to turn on after clicking on it to turn it on, it tells me to turn on the TPM secure, restart, and follow the instructions. If I turn it on, when I click on the icon of BitLocker, it tells me that my computer is not configured with bitlocker, shows as 2 drives on the left, on the right it descriptions of the show with an 'x' next to a magnifying glass on a hard drive and the word "off" after the description. Is it the way it is supposed to look like when it will run. Because I put all perimeters to activation, the initialization and the establishment. The TPM is the correct version, group policy is set to the correct specifications, I did everything what I was instructed to do. I even let the TPM to create his or her own password. I initialized and took possession of the TPM, I turned it on, I put it to ignore blocked orders. I installed the security chip. My hard drive is narrowed, there is the extra partition specified as S:, Ok he said after doing this, I have to reinstall the software, but after reinstalling the software, it says it has deleted my second partition. I did it at least 10 times aggravating. So I used the BitLocker configuration tool to shrink the drive and create the partition. Now what I am doing wrong?
