My pc will not boot mode "Eve". black screen, reboot reboot safe mode then anouther and all is well.

Turning on my PC after the mode 'sleep' or when it was completely off my PC does not start until... White screen.  If I reboot and select Safe mode it loads. If I can restart in safe mode, and then it starts and everything works.

I tried a lot of bugs, power, the settings of the mouse settings, and cd to repair vista, reformat and clean install and I still have this problem

My recent attempts to fix it have wondered if this might be a problem with my USB drivers. My mouse is USB and when I boot I hear the sound that plays when I plug in our remove something from one of my USB connectors. just a quess.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Dave

Hi Dave,.

You can try to disconnect all external devices, including network card and put the computer in mode "Eve" and check if it comes back.

You can also try to update the graphics card and check if it helps

    Hello

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

Try the steps in the following Microsoft article and check if it helps.

Windows Vista or Windows 7 unbootable, and the Startup Repair tool does not resolve the problem:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/934540

    Method 2:
You can refer to the link below and check the drive for errors:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/check-your-hard-disk-for-errors

Warning: when running chkdsk on the drive hard if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data may be lost.

If the methods mentioned above do not solve the problem, then it would be best to contact the manufacturer of the computer.

  • Memory will not work Diagnostic tool - black screen

    Hello

I'm having a problem with my (relatively) new - an ASUS laptop UX - 21F. It worked very well for the first three months, but only in the last week has crashed several times on me with a BSOD. Unfortunately, Windows (Win7 Ultimate) does not create the memory dump file as it is currently specified to do so. (Yes, I checked, double-checked and rechecked re this parameter.) It simply does not create the image file.) Looking back through the event log, it does not match what is happening just before failure. It seems to be random.
It sounded like a potential RAM for me, so I thought I'd run the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool. I chose restart immediately and... nothing. It restarts, messages and then it is a black screen and high enough system fan wind rising and the system gets hot enough. There is no cursor, or anything like that, and the only thing we can do is to hit the power button (it instantly stops, rather than having to four seconds). When it restarts, the system boots normally into windows.
I tried to access the tool in many different ways and there seems to be no way to enforce. Each way I just get a black screen and a hot computer.
What should I do here? I do a lot of development on this machine and I'm kind of falling ill to endorse things up to four times a day in case it crashes and I lose my job. Should I reinstall the OS and see if the problems go away? Or is there something less invasive than I do?

Download and create the CD to boot from here:

    Memtest86 + http://www.memtest.org/

If you have more than one piece of RAM in it, blow an and boot from the CD. If there are no errors, swap out with another room and boot on the CD again.

Look in the event log at the time of the accident and see what are the entries for error there. This might give you a clue as to what is happening.

Is the ' (relatively) new laptop "still under warranty by any chance? If so, you should also contact ASUS or the place you bought it from.

  • Son of anarchy BD Discs will not play on BDX4400 (black screen)

    Hello world!
Just wondering if anyone can help with the following: I had some problems with the blu - Ray of the BDX4400 player (remote works do not, the reaction is slow, frozen Portal etc.) for awhile, but it was ok with playing DVDs / blu - ray... Up to our days. I come from the Sons of Anarchy box, insert the first disk, and then the screen goes black.

You can hear the disc turning for a few seconds and the play icon appears but then it's all... Just a black screen and you can't even eject the disc (remote not working do not when it is at this point).
I tried other discs of this set, but the same thing happens. However, the other DVD / Blu - Ray work. Therefore, I am sure that the player is fine, but maybe im missing a parameter that must be changed...?
Someone had a similar problem? (I disabled the internet connections and the bd-live function, but not luck)

The region code is correct and FW is up to date, so this may not be the root of the problem, if all fails, I may have to blame the actual discs, but I have trouble believing that 15 discs are damaged...

Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions, which would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

It is always a stupid situation if everything works perfectly, but not with some discs/disc.
In case your player works well with the other BR disks that the problem must be with the disks you have.

Is there a possibility to test the disks on a few other BDplayer?
You laptop / PC with BD optical drive? Can test you?

To be honest, what is unclear to me that something can be changed (settings) in this case. Either it works or not.

  • PC will not boot past the home screen with USB HDD connected?

Please read the entire post before suggesting a solution.

Mobo: ASUS P8Z68-V LX, on the latest version of the BIOS.  Eight USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.0 ports.  Intel i5 CPU. 8 GB of DDR3 RAM. Graphics card is NVIDIA GTS 8800 512, and I have a GTX 960 FTW on the way. Corsair CSX500 PSU.

    Model reader problem: WDBHML0040HAL-RK

-J' ordered this drive of Studio 4 to WD outside of eBay for $109, used. The drive has been used previously on OS X, and I had planned to use it between two Windows 7, 10 and 10 OS X via dual-boot.
-Boots PC regularly without the connected reader, but it hangs at the splash screen, if the player is connected to one of my 10 USB ports.
-I can't not to enter the BIOS with the drive connected, and if I get into the BIOS without connection, BIOS freezes as soon as I make it connect.
-I went into the BIOS, (with the device / disconnected /), and external hard drives moved to the low boot priority. This had no effect.
-The PC recognises the drive if it is connected / after start. I can copy files to and from the disk without flaw.
-When it is received, the disk has been formatted with a face-to-face 200 MB EFI system partition, (I have no background knowledge about it), with the rest ~3.5TB unscathed HFS + space.
-Immediately, I formatted the partition HFS + and it separated in exFAT and NTFS.
-Deletion of the EFI partition to command line has no effect.

Someone online says that this is due to the ASUS P8Z68 trying to boot from the drive and to disable "Legacy USB Support" from the BIOS, but my knowledge of the ways all USB devices are disabled, including keyboards. I am doing a FULL disk formatting and will update the post I have try these solutions.

I'm really in a bind here, guys. In all, any help is appreciated.

Solved myself. I went back to the basics:

The drive is 4 TB and I'm trying to use it as exFAT, for compatibility purposes. exFAT supports up to 2 TB per partition. The solutions are either break the 4 TB drive halfway, or to use the NTFS system.

For the record, I chose exFAT.

Since auto-updates 2nd week of February 2010, my PC will not boot.

    Restore point:

Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

  • Can't reinstall Vista. Because Vista will not get to the Setup screen.

Hi people. Got a prob a little. Vista stopped booting the other night. So, I tried safe mode, and it hung on crcdisk.sys. So, I decided to get in shape. Problem is, it will boot from the DVD, but will not load / access the Setup screen (I waited for 7-8 minutes and nothing's happened, shows just the thing with the green bar).

Not too sure if it's because the hard drive is 1 TB (but Vista was on the same front hdd with Windows 7). I tried to remove the 2 GB of ram (I use 4). No go. Tried another DVD rom, not go. Removed USB devices that have been connected. No go. I know that the DVD itself is fine. I tried on the other PC here, the installation screen came within 2-3 minutes. But his is not a 1 to (its 250 GB) the only DVD that will work / I install is the Windows 7 DVD.  So, how can I reinstall Vista?

I deleted all partitions / recreated with the Win7 installation as well. Still couldn't get Vista to get to the Setup screen

    Any info appreciated

    Thank you

Finally fixed it. I read that USB legacy can also cause this. So, I disabled it. Everything is good. Managed to get to the Setup screen, then reinstall Vista

I worked on the machine to get to start XP. Sometimes it will boot in Safe Mode, but most of the time (and when it does not start in 'normal' mode), it crashes with a blue screen. The blue screen flashes fast to read, and then the machine tries to restart.
Once I do start safe mode and got WIndows update but can't update due to the update that needs to be in normal mode.
I was able to install Malwarebytes and a full scan. Also installed Spybot S & D and performed a full scan.

When it does not start in normal mode it is slow, very slow. I tried rkill and it causes the machine down.

    Original title: startup problem

I tried cloning from my hard drive with Clonezilla, and he gave me a bad sector error.  I have since run the hard drive test in bios and it passed.  Anyway, clone has failed, and now the original hard drive will not boot.  My dvd player won't turn when I try to load the Vista repair CD (Vista Home Premium 32 bit).  Clonezilla removes the start settings for the original disc?  And if so, how can I restore it?  The computer starts just a black screen with a cursor at the top left.  When I install the hard drive in a box and connect it to another computer, it shows the partitions and files all seem to be there.

    Hi DougEisenmann,

Clonezilla is not supported by Microsoft.

If you are unable to boot from the Vista repair disk then you will need to go into the system BIOS and make sure that it is configured to boot from the DVD drive.
