my player windows media apart when I try to play the video the sound works but there is no picture just a black screen and all my music files are there and play very well sound just video that gives trouble?

Ideas: my Media Player does not work when I play video all I get is the sound, the screen is just black hear any picturedoesn can't if it's a DVD or a download on the internet its just sound and a black screen?

1. have you made changes on the computer recently?

Method 1.
Change hardware acceleration
You can try to change the hardware acceleration in the middle and check (you can try another level too.)
a. right click on a space empty on the desktop.
b. go to the resolution of the screen.
c. click Advanced settings, and then click the "troubleshooting."
d. set the hardware acceleration in the middle. (here you'll get the only option your video card sound support).
 
 
Method 2.
a. you can also check that Windows is up-to-date to check updates for your hardware.
You can also run the difficulty below that diagnoses and identify codecs that can cause windows to become unstable or stop responding.

b. if the problem persists, you can check the latest video card driver provided by the manufacturer of the PC that is compatible with Windows Vista is installed.
